Pearls are sweet! Blackberry power!

Sorry you had to get a Palm :( ...

Don't get me wrong its a decent phone but the battery life is abysmal. This is the price to pay for the supposed "slimming". If only i wasn't locked down by software i've bought for the palm OS. Still a good phone though but could be better.

Considered getting a SE P990 but i hear thats full of bugs, which seems to be a recurring thing for symbian phones. Blackberry doesn't seem to have any software written for it besides the J2ME OS. Windows mobile cant edit office documents. So palm is the logical choice given my needs

You need to do more research.
a couple of sites.
Windows Mobile based
Modaco.com, MSMOBILES.com, HowardForums.com Smartphone/PDA Section for all the smartphone devices.

Symbian you have QuickOffice for editing documents including powerpoint > for UIQ based (SE p900/910/990) or S60 based. S60 based phones are NOT that buggy. Lookup the Nokia E61 (not the E62 that Cingular has) which also has WiFi b/g. Very Stable!

Windows Mobile Smartphone have optional applications for editing MS office documents just like Palm can. So have a look around ask questions > I'm sure those offerings will allow more choice and variable forms/shapes of devices. Lastly, there are quite of few applications written in Java for the BB devices; besides the core OS. ;) its not the corporate darling for no reason. Research around and dig deep I'm sure you'll find a healthy alternative to your Palm Treo 680 but if you're happy with it thas fine too.

Maybe you should take the money from your two razrs (which you need why?) and your 5 million back-up phones and buy one phone that works- say, a Blackberry 8100.

Nah, those two pictures with gazillions of cell phones in it are gone, I sold them all on ebay and use the money for my ipod :D :D

I had MDA but it didn't sync with my PB, don't know why, so I traded it in for two RAZRs. I used the black ones for special ocassions only, the silver ones is a little beat up. Thinking to get a Treo 650 but I don't know if it will integrates with my mac or my other alternative is V3i. How do you type on Pearl? it seems complicated to me

Just got a Sidekick 3 today. I LOVE IT!!! If only I could figure out how to get my mac.com configured onto the e-mail application.....

Tmobile Desktop Manager for Mac!

This should integrate into MS Outlook (.MAC version for Mac's) - OOPS sorry its called Entourage. Maybe then it'll sync up?

Hey now THERE is a project ;) Try to send Danger, INC an email; I'm sure some of their engineers - rumored to be formerly Apple employee's years ago - may offer a solution. Congrats. Which one did you get? the LRG? or Black model?

I got the traditional silver and black one. The black one was designed by Diane Von Furstenburg and has pink lips all over it.

You don't understand what I'm trying to do. What I'm trying to do is to be able to check my mac.com mail ON my sidekick.

I forgot about this thread! I got this phone on Black Friday and posted a review here (you can search the forums for it if you want to read it; linking it seems a bit too much like a "look at me" tactic), but I forgot to post pics here!

I have had like five phones this year it is unbelievable i think that i am going to settle with my current one now for a while.
I bought a Motorola V500 in January and then replaced that shortly with a LGU880, i then replaced that with a Nokia N91. I then downgraded and replaced my Nokia N91 with a Motorola V635 but i only had that for a short while as i could not do without 3G where i live. I now own a Nokia 7390 as pictured below.
It was a bit of a toss up for me when i was ordering as i never knew what colour to go with but i decided to go with the powder pink/cream one in the end and i am glad that i did now. I am not on any contracts so i buy my own phones when i need to.

I love that phone!

I have the Samsung P207 in white. I've only seen one other person with this white version; most people I see have the black one. I picked the white since (sounds stupid, I know) matches my iPod and now, it matches my MacBook as well. :)

Nice phone, great display, wonderful keyboard, too bad it's for verizon :(

If you're thinking about a treo- don't. Blackberry works very well with the mac and typing on my pearl is pretty nice- although not perfect. I would wait for the iPhone or Blackberry 8800 before I upgraded- blackberryville is much nicer then palmtown. :D

From Saturday, anyway. Looks like an ugly brick compared to some of the hi-tech stuff I've seen here.

Ahh I see. Hmm. Can the .Mac email account be setup for forwarding or accessing as a POP3/IMAP4 setup?

SK II was capable of accessing such so I'm hoping you can on the SK3. You may not need the smtp address unless Danger, Inc servers cannot auto find & setup for it. Hoping you get some success. Pink lips on teh Dian Von Furstenburg (whomever that is) is atrocious. I gotta find a way to get a paygo to use here for the daughter unless continuous usuage over the border is restricted like I've read.

@Felldownthewell,

Excellent choice! However when the SGH-i600 comes out in a few months you'll be urked to find it has everything BlackJack has with HSDPA along with WiFi. Not too sure on the UMTS bands though. I almost bought the TMobile DASH/HTC H620 but I'm waiting for the HTC H650/Cavalier to debut.

Might I suggest a trip to apps listed Here,

Very easy to type on the Pearl, I adjusted quickly. The Pearl has what they call SureType (it's like T9 if you've ever used it on other phones). You hit the key once, and SureType guesses which of the 2 letters you wanted, and it's very accurate. If it's wrong, go back and change it, but that doesn't happen often. Or, you could disable SureType and use MultiTap, which is how typing on a traditional cell works, hit the button once for the letter on the left, twice for the letter on the right.

What is your opinion of the Blackjack?

Wow...what phone is that?? If Apple doesn't release the iPhone soon, or it sucks when they do, I need a back up phone.

Wow...reading up on it...does it have Wi-Fi? If so how is the internet on it? Also how much was it?

verizon xv6700, yes it has wi-fi and it is fairly quick as long as the site isn't bombarded with large images. i got it for around 200 on ebay.

Does Verizon require you to have a data plan to use the xv6700, or can you have a regular phone plan?

You can go on the Pay-As-You-Go data plan ($0.015/KB), or the $24.99 10MB plan (that's worthless), or the $44.99 "Unlimited" data plan. You can also block all data and use everything except data and picture messaging.

I was thinking about getting this phone, and I would only use the Wifi for internet, so that's cool that you can just block everything. I would guess that the $0.015/KB adds up pretty quickly just browsing the internet.

*cough* T-MOBILE! *cough*

*sneeze* $20.00/month for unlimited web, e-mail, IM, & text *sneeze*

Wow, I must be catching a cold! :D

Yep, WiFi would be the way to go. Word of warning: if you picture message and you don't block data, it will use data and airtime. So the average 250KB picture would be $3.75.

And 1MB of Data with PAYG= $15.

*cough* Only for Sidekicks *couch*
I think you gave me your cold.

I love my Sidekick!

But Blackberries are also $20, but sans the IM and text.

WM5 is $30, but why the hell would you want to support MS? :)

And EDGE is FAST.
