when fedex says its "picked up" in fort worth, what does that mean? Is it just sitting there or is it being placed in a plane/truck or is it in transit to a new facility?

Generally it means that it's been scanned (it is in the box and labeled). Usually there is a separate scan for departure from the location.

Here's what FedEx says about saturday pick-up:

Saturday pickup is available in our A1, A2, AA, A3, A4, A5 and AM primary service areas for FedEx First Overnight®, FedEx Priority Overnight, FedEx Standard Overnight®, FedEx 2Day and FedEx Express Saver® services. Select ZIP codes in our A6 and PM service areas have Saturday pickup as well. A special handling fee applies for both Saturday pickup and delivery.

Saturday Hold at FedEx Location service is available for FedEx Priority Overnight and FedEx 2Day.

I called att customer service first - this guy said to call fedex and if they can expedite.
fedex says no because the sender has to do it.
I think my only bet might be able to pick it up on Saturday locally if it gets there by then - lets keep our fingers crossed

Just spoke to a FedEx rep.

Saturday pick-up or delivery must be requested by the shipper. No way for the receiver to request a Saturday pick-up because the package will be "containerized."

Monday it is, then. :(

I remember from my experiences with ATT CS over the years (when I was a customer years ago) how comical it always was to me that a PHONE company made it a point of keeping calls as short as possible. They will say ANYTHING to get you off of the phone in under 1 minute. It doesn't matter if they are telling you the correct thing. That is why you can get 5 different answers from 5 different people. That is why we're seeing so much confusion. The premier people just pull random stuff out of thin air and say "that's the way it is." Uhhh, right.

I worked CS for years and we were instructed to get people off of the phone fast, because we had an 800 number and it cost for every minute. If your call was going to go over a few minutes you were to take down their info and have a callback done by the nightshift to save some cash. If you spent too much time HELPING customers you'd be terminated! It is so funny to me that a company that basically runs the world's phone systems follows that same idea and will do whatever it takes to get you to hang up!

Premier charges a restocking fee, right? Since my iPhone has shipped, there's really not a good way to refuse delivery/send it back/cancel and go to my Apple store tomorrow (where technically I have one on 'reserve') without paying a restocking fee and/or causing settings on my account to get screwed up, right? I really love how "overnight priority" = "2 Day service" to AT&T.

This is just a guess, but usually places don't charge a restocking fee if the package is not opened. The restocking fee usually covers the cost of the company having to send it back to the manufacturer. You're best bet is to call Premier and confirm though.

Trust me it will be a crap shoot. Call 5 times and you'll get 5 different answers.

trina27: If I were you I'd save myself the headache and just wait the extra couple days, like all of us.

Yeah, I know...and I probably will...just hate the thought of giving AT&T money right now. Not enough to switch to another carrier though.

Mine just shipped

I am a Premier customer who ordered at 2AM Eastern Time Friday (12th)

I ordered at ~130 pm on Jun 12 on Premier. Do you think that they are filling the orders in the order they were received?

Still nothing on the website and the wait time for a Premier customer service agent is about 20 minutes.

I think if mine doesn't ship today I am going to brave an AT&T store in the morning.

I am so impatient!

here's my order. ordered on the 11th from premier, says 13th on regular att site, and only my wifes white iphone has shipped, and my black says backordered....

On June 13, I placed a different iPhone 3GS order for my wife's line and that order is still "In Progress" with no tracking number.

Good luck everybody!

Yes. Orders placed on the 9th, 10th, and 11th(?) seem to have tracking numbers so far (shipped this morning). 12th and later are starting to show shipped. You'll have a tracking number soon; tomorrow at the latest I'm guessing.

I ordered on the 10th online and my status is still in progress and back-ordered.

Except for this guy. You should call...maybe there is a problem with your order.

My wife's phone, which I ordered on the 15th has just switched from back order so will probably having a shipping number on that one in a day or so too.
