I am having the joy of finding out today (because I called not because they contacted me) that my order has not been processed because they said my number port from Verizon is ineligible, but when I called them on Friday there had been no problems with the order to that point... do I really want this phone that bad?

lol

call AT&T CS to get tracking number

I did not have a tracking number and the order status page was still displaying we will process your request.

I called AT&T and she gave me a FedEx tracking number. My iPhone is in TX and will ship 22nd.

I've been posting also, but now that I'm at work I can't anymore (firewalled). Any replies from ATT yet?

Nope, they are too busy counting all the money they got from Premier pre-orders and bogus shipping upgrade charges.

Two orders placed 6/9 via Premier; two tracking numbers but I'm wondering about this 'various sim' thing. My order used to show three lines; freight, various sim, and the iphone itself. Now only shows 'various sim' and that it's shipped.....strange...

Ok, so not only will my phone not be delivered till the 22nd, but my boyfriend just called premier CS and they told him there was a "processing error" with his order. He was switching over from T-Mobile. He ordered on the 10th and had to call TODAY to find this out? They didn't even try to contact him? Now his won't ship for 7-10 days.

This is bringing back so many memories of why I left ATT in the first place back in 2003. I was a premier member and had 3 lines and a dual band plan and dual band phones. I was paying out the nose, and everything was another big hoop to jump through. We finally ended up canceling our contract with my entire company because of all of the junk and ATT was like "meh, good luck".

With each passing day I remember why I left in the first place. I was really excited to move over as I've heard so many good things about the iPhone and how ATT is a different company now. I think the more things change... the more they stay the same and it is worrying me a bit!

Couldn't AT&T just call Fedex to update the order to Next Day for all of us?

Seems like it would be a simple phone call....

There's no way in hell they will do this. Even if they wanted to we're talking about tens of thousands of orders.

Instead, our only hope of getting it early is if it makes it to a hub by Saturday in which case we can pick it up in person before it closes.

Meanwhile, AT&T is busy counting their Premier monies and pointing and laughing at us Premier members for letting them stomp all over us;

Agreed Agreed.....Premier really shafted us. Especially the ones who could not even upgrade to overnight shipping!

The only reason I did the premier site was because my wife wanted an iphone 3G S as well, and the store would only let me pre-order 1 of them. So I guess i'm paying the price now, and what really sucks is the one I pre-ordered at the store arrived but I have to go cancel it instead of picking it up.

I'm going to try and forget about all this and just have a good weekend. This particular Monday will not suck. :) [/optimism]

****ing AT&T

Not that I necessarily want to do this, but can you actually go to a FedEx Hub and pick up a package? How does that work? Do you just drop on in or call them or what?

I have picked things up before, both before and after attempted deliveries. This is what you need to do BEFORE calling Fed Ex.

You need to check the status with your shipping number and CONFIRM that the package is at a facility that allows for customer pickup. This will vary by Fedex location. Some Fedex hubs (at airports, etc) might not allow for customer pickup of packages.

Generally a package should be available within a few hours of being scanned in at a customer pickup compatible facility.

You will want to call Fedex (1-800-GOFEDEX) and tell them that you want to pick up the package at that location. Ask the Fedex rep to call the location and verify your item is ready to be picked up by you (nothing's worse than driving to Fedex and finding out that your item is in the back of a warehouse and inaccessible till the next day).

Assuming you get that confirmation you should be good. Be prepared to bring two forms of ID to pick up your package, they need to show the address the package is being delivered to (if being delivered to a business address your business card usually suffices along with a picture ID).

Hope that helps! My package is coming from Texas to Colorado and they usually get here in 24 hours. If the package is at a depot by Saturday I plan on attempting pickup myself (and then taking a dump on the hood of the car of the VP of Premier business unit).

Once you get your tracking number, can ask FedEx to change your shipping to Hold for Pickup. Just make sure you find out where your pickup site is. For us folks in North Central Indiana, its Mishawaka. Thats a good hike from where I am,

Hmmmmm. So if mine shipped today with 2-day shipping, it should be at my local hub by Saturday... and according to FedEx, "Saturday delivery is available in the majority of U.S. cities with FedEx Priority Overnight® and FedEx 2Day® services...FedEx 2Day shipments picked up on Thursday can be scheduled for Saturday delivery by 4:30 p.m. (5 p.m. in Alaska) in our A1, A2, AA, A3, A4, A5 and AM primary service areas."

Does the shipper have to schedule the Saturday delivery or can the recipient do that also?

Thanks a bunch for that information. That is good stuff to know. Good luck trying to get yours.

This is a bit sticky. It would depend on whether or not AT&T gets free Saturday delivery and/or chose to pay for it for these phones to go out on Saturday.

In any event, you should see a status Saturday morning of "out for delivery" by 7-8 AM if, in fact, they are going to deliver that day.

As far as I know the receiver of a shipment CANNOT upgrade their shipping. In other words, you can't call Fedex, give them the tracking number and offer to shove a sweaty wad of bills at them to get your phone upgraded to overnight shipping.

I guess my question was, can I PICK the package UP on Saturday, not have it delivered. Poorly worded. Thanks.

when fedex says its "picked up" in fort worth, what does that mean? Is it just sitting there or is it being placed in a plane/truck or is it in transit to a new facility?
