I was predicting $899, $999 and $1099 so I got the price on the XR wrong as it's $749 so $150 cheaper than I expected.

But yeah I was hoping I would be wrong about the iPhone XS and XS+ because damn they are pricey. I may have bought one at $899 but not $999 or $1099. I mean for me paying $899 for a phone is a stretch in itself and I would want another plus model so I'm definitely not paying $1099.

For me, they've priced me out of the market I would rather stick with the 7 Plus I have than buy a new iPhone at these prices. I think I'm probably in the minority with this feeling, I think most people who buy iPhones and have done so for many years will continue to purchase them even at these prices which is kinda sad cause it will just perpetuate the cycle of them releasing ever more expensive iPhones.

Anyway just my thoughts. I think the new phones look great, the specs are great obviously, just a bit too much $$$ for me.

Sticking with my ipx as I still owe $698.90. Just not willing to start over. It would be like I leased my phone and I am still in love with this amazing phone.

This pricing is insane. On the IUP I currently pay $45 per month for a 256 GB 8 Plus. If I wanted a 256 GB Xs Max, I’m looking at over $60 per month! Even the 64 GB is $54 per month. I’m going to have to mull this one over. I’m not sure it’s worth the upgrade.

In Australia, the base iPhone is now the 7 and is $200 more than the old base phone (SE). Their 'Affordable' current phone is $1200, up about $200 on the iPhone 8.

Its ridiculous beyond belief. But people will buy them of course.

The new camera system alone is worth it.

I'm upgrading for sure.

How did we get to the point of the 3gs releasing at 299 to now??

I have no idea. I remember buying my Dad a 5 (64gb) on launch day for $899 (or maybe $999) AUD - which was the top of the line iPhone. Now the top of the line iPhone is $2400 AUD. Crazy.

Oof. 2 years ago I got the 7 with 128GB for $749 + tax. Now that's the starting price for the "affordable" model with 64 GB storage?

I want to upgrade, but won't go down to 64GB, so with the Xs I'd be paying $1149 for 256GB. The Xr is a little more reasonable at $799 for 128GB, but dang, I wanted that Xs...

Agreed. Simply not worth it. Android is looking more attractive.

I was thinking the same thing..those prices are damn ridiculous you have people upgrading to those prices every year?lol...geez...Im looking hard at the note 9 deal now buy one get one FREE!!!!

Starting prices:

iPhone Xr - $749
iPhone Xs - $999
iPhone Xs Max - $1099

All rumors and opinions were pointing towards $100 less per phone. I'm really surprised to see these starting price points especially for the Xs and Xs Max.

It's giving me pause on purchasing the Xs Max. $1100 is a lot.

Lmao! When has Apple come out with prices lower than expected.

Those prices are absolutely shocking. Was looking to upgrading to the xs or the 6.5 inch phone.

No phone is worth those places regardless of what they have.

iPhone Xr looks appealing to me. I wonder if it’ll be the same size of the iPhone 7 Plus.

Well, the current phones probably have 10x better cameras, more processors that are a lot faster, much higher res displays etc and above all the widespread adoption of smartphones happened. Throw in some inflation and Apple being able to price their phones at a premium and here we are. When the 3GS was released a lot of people were still considering "dumbphones" as the way to go due to physical keyboards and being used to phones being used mostly just for calls and texts.
