Maybe I won't need to order the Max....just show up to AT&T a week from Friday.

Still using a 5S here, 32GB, with the original battery. Definitely a bit torturous at times. Time to replace it soon, probably with one of the older models.
I don't know how you're doing it. By the time the X came out I was dying from how slow my iPhone 6 was. GPS was ridiculously slow, opening apps was torturous, battery life was so poor I was constantly plugged in. More power to you.

For a device that in 2 years will be slow and unusable...
I agree concerning the 64 GB base storage, that's really not enough for a $1K+ smartphone of any kind. Reminds me of the 16 GB iPhone 6s Plus in 2015, but apparently by today's standards that was a low-cost smartphone...

The 256 GB model though, I foresee that one still being usable even four years from now. Not trying to justify $1,250 for a smartphone, but longevity is something to consider.

You all realize this is the new norm in phone pricing and not unique to Apple right? You saw the prices for Samsung’s phone that was announced last month?

My iPhone 8 has been down valued considerably.
A few months into 2 year contract.
Iphone-s -nice phone-not for me @999 -be it dollars or UK pounds.
18 months later, maybe x-s will be reduced considerably.
I don't have any immediate purchasing requirements at all.

I wanted a new iPhone Xs, the 5.8" size, but since they didn't lower the price, I may go with a discounted 4.7" iPhone 8 with 256 GB. I just don't like the bigger phone sizes, and I need to watch my $$$ right now, even though my 6s has lousy battery life and is virtually out of storage. BTW, are the new X phones being shipped with the fast chargers, or are those still extra?

Your missing an incredible point and that point is that Samsung allows expanded memory so realistic the 64gb would be 256gb if you had expanded memory. And you also leaving out you can get bogos on Samsung phones. And please don’t go the route of Apple is better or premium that’s why no bogos

Apple has priced themselves out of my pocket. I just can't justify these prices. I hope the SE will continue to be supported for some time, once it's out of support I likely won't buy another iPhone unless they bring back affordable models.

For the first time since I got an iPhone 3GS, I’m not upgrading. I’d promised a family member my iPhone X, I’m going to have to break the news to them that I’m keeping hold of my phone.

I will have to think about this - The refurb 7 128gb at $469 is starting to look attractive - lol. Can anyone with an 'X' who has owned either a 6/6s/7/8 Plus give me a feel for how big they thought the screen on the X was compared to their old Plus? I was thinking XsMax to replace a 6S Plus, but the regular Xs screen is bigger than my phone, just the body is smaller - did all the 5.8" feel usable?
