Your missing an incredible point and that point is that Samsung allows expanded memory so realistic the 64gb would be 256gb if you had expanded memory. And you also leaving out you can get bogos on Samsung phones. And please don’t go the route of Apple is better or premium that’s why no bogos

Um. Some carriers do BOGO’s on iPhones. Apple itself doesn’t do it, but ATT sprint etc do.

What is the difference between having the single lens and dual lens now that portrait photos in XR can produce the same results as XS/XS Max. Except digital zoom.

That is what bothers me. What is the uniqueness of dual lens.

I was shocked at the max prices. Will probably just go with the S9+ at this point. It costs $749. Maybe the new pixel will be something, it’s cameras have been better than the iPhones anyway.

I have the 7+ and I enjoy using the "close-up" lens, but I'm not sure how much I would really miss it (if the alternative is to take a regular shot and then digitally crop) -- depends on how the results look, I guess.

I try my best to stay positive here in the forums. And even now I am not bashing Apple or any Apple products. But $1,450 for a 512 before tax?? Sorry but that is not the new norm for pricing (as someone previously mentioned). That is above and beyond the Note 9. I may not like android, but even I can recognize that the $1250 for the Note 9 gets you not only 512gb internal storage, but external storage, more functionality (S Pen), a top of the line camera, etc. I am really at a loss.

I will have to think about this - The refurb 7 128gb at $469 is starting to look attractive - lol. Can anyone with an 'X' who has owned either a 6/6s/7/8 Plus give me a feel for how big they thought the screen on the X was compared to their old Plus? I was thinking XsMax to replace a 6S Plus, but the regular Xs screen is bigger than my phone, just the body is smaller - did all the 5.8" feel usable?

I will tell you now your losing screen with x vs the plus. It’s a word play the screen is taller but narrower

Same price as last years X so I’m fine with it. I’m on the IUP so the price won’t change for me. A 128gb option would of been nice but, I only use 20gb on my 64gb X and keep everything else on the cloud so it really hasn’t been a big deal for me.

It's not just "a phone". It's a pocketable super computer.

Sure but a supercar can only be as good as the road you're driving on. 1000bhp on a bumpy gravel road is useless. Much like the iPhone, what's the point in all that power if the software is not going to change to reflect that new power?

iPhones have increased 100x in power over the 11 years it's been around but the software has not fundamentally advanced to reflect that. Very disappointed that the world's most valuable company are still not pushing innovation in the software sector.

Wow indeed. I've been keeping my 6s plus (apart from replacing it when someone stole it) since launch, waiting for an opportunity to upgrade. I'm also no stranger to high end hardware, and have always bought the maxed out version of my iPhones and MacBooks. But £1449 - I really think that they have jumped the shark with this one.

I might be tempted by an 8plus (as I'd prefer Touch ID), but that has a year older hardware, half the storage and the price doesn't even seem to have come down by much!

Disappointed in the price point but it's still the same as last year's and it's a more powerful version. I was going to upgrade my 6+ last year and was largely unimpressed when they revealed the price and what you get. This year I will upgrade mostly due to my 64GB being mostly full and clunky performance compared to everyone else's phones as it's finally time after 4 years. I'll pay it off all at once as I don't want to be paying it off monthly...

I think the new "norm" will be renting phones, aka monthly payments like Apple's program, AT&T Next, etc. Paying outright for a phone that drops in value after a year is not a good way to go anymore.

The Xr will still record 4K at 24fps - so that may be the ticket for me. 256gb @ $899 isn't really that brutal. I can wait - and like the idea of having a true white iPhone again - will remind me of my 4s. C'est la vie.

I agree. My phone I connect it and dump it in the center console. Get home, put it on the countertop and never look at it again until it's time for bed. Then again I dont have any type of Social Media. Those who use Social Media every minute get the most benefit out of these type of phones.

I agree that more will rent, but it is almost splitting hairs at this point for those still looking to upgrade annually. You can pay the $1,550 after tax and then try and sell for, say, $900 a year later for a $650 loss or you could pay $775 by the end of 12 months, trade it in, and be out that $775. Either way, if you upgrade annually, this will cost you like nothing ever before.

While I am not happy with the price, you are paying for A+ customer support as well. That's how I rationalize it at least. Having owned several Samsungs and currently a Pixel 2 XL which I love, the support is non-existent. Google support is awful; it has taken 45 days and counting to get a refund on a defective phone I returned. If you file a dispute with your bank, Google has banned accounts for that. That's a good company right there...

The way I now see it, because I'm on Verizon and won't go to T-Mobile, I can either pay $850 or $900+ for a Samsung or the new Pixel, or $1000 for an iPhone Xs. I'm likely never buying a Samsung again and the Pixels are overpriced, but the only Android worth buying. It is a no-brainer re: what you are getting for your money re: Apple vs. Google or Samsung. Every other Android phone is not on my radar, including OnePlus, for various reasons, which I won't get into.

If I don't buy the Xs I'm just depriving myself of a great phone out of principle of saving a couple hundred bucks, at the end of the day. Stinks, but it is where the market is at.
