i opened the pwnage tool and ran the simple route.
it created the custom firmware, i'm assuming with cydia, bootneuter and everything. i clicked that "i'm a legit iphone user"
does this mean it doesn't unlock the phone, or even need to run bootneuter?
second- is it okay to just install the custom firmware through itunes doing option+restore like i installed 2.0?

thanks

p.s. will installer 4.0 be available through cydia?

Thank you once again. Now it says: Failed to enter DFU Mode...
A short tip would be highly appreciated.
Thx

Live phone turned on and conected to the computer with usb cable.
create custom restore and after that program will guide you true steps necessary to enter dfu mode ( stupid ) also there is no button or way to pwned phone without creating restore file first???????

I liked old version better...

Hmm.. I cannot load the boot loader..

Do I need to download boot neuter or something?

Thank you - I passed this step succesfully.

Question: Can I restore from the iTunes backup as suggested?
Thank you very much

I did too... over and over. I think the only thing that finally worked for me was a much shorter "hold the power button and the home button" for a few seconds (it looks like nothing really happened) and then pwnage (or whatever it's called) finally kicked in and did it's thing. Or I just got lucky... I had to do it quite a few times.

Honestly, after spending the last 1.5 hours or so trying to get this to work and being successful I'm left wondering what was the point. Apparently, most of what worked on older versions won't work on the new 2.0.

I followed this to put in in DFU

http://www.iphonepassion.com/2008/03/19/safety-net-how-to-put-your-iphone-in-dfu-mode/

Then reran Pwnage and it worked

Now, it tells me that the Bootloader that I have is not the correct one, and I just downloaded from Google.

Here is the error.

I set up 2.0 from my 1.1.4
Thereafter I confirmed in iTunes, that I would like to restore the backup.
It brought me back my Safari Shortcuts on the desktop, but all the other apps are gone... also installer!
