All you need to do (seriously) is keep trying, OVER AND OVER. Eventually, it will get through in the iTunes store. I tried about 20 times, and i got in.

Yes, unplug it and plug it back in until you dont get the error. Then the rest is pretty much like the old phone.

You can also just click over to your music library and then back to your iPhone, rather than plugging in and out.

No, No, No, No.... Save Your Plugs

Yes, unplug it and plug it back in until you dont get the error. Then the rest is pretty much like the old phone.

Save wear and tear on your Plugs and Cords.
This does the same thing.
When you get the message telling you it couldn't access the iTunes Store for your request, do this:
1. Click on one of the other links above in the Menu like Music, or Applications, or Radio
2. Then Click on the iPhone link again.

If you Click on Check For Purchases, you'll find that it accesses the Store just fine.

This seems to be an Activation Server issue.

I was also sent home from AT&T store to activate. I got the last 16GB at the store. The problems didn't start until after I was in the store, the previous people all got activated!

I am getting an error message:

We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occured (-9838).
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.

YES

It's Apple people, not you.... be patient and go to work, that's what I did, yes I have a bricked phone in my pocket, but I'll try again tonight when I get home, or tomorrow.... their activation servers can't handle the load.

it'll calm down eventually and your phone will activate.

be patient.
