What would (did) you do if your iPhone 11 Pro (Max) has the flickering issue?

When I replaced my device at Apple, my replacement device has same issue...however the IPhone 11 Pro they exchanged with me didn’t come in a retail box. It was a plain brown box from what I remember. Was I given a new device? Is that how a normal exchange is handled?
You were probably outside the exchange date for a new device. The one they gave you is typically "new or equal to new" IE: Refurbished. My guess is new though since they haven't had time to even get any refurb units in.

I was still within 14 days. This was done this past Wednesday. Tech said it was new but coming in the brown box has me concerned.

I'm guessing you didn't bring the original box with you? It's also possible that they just didn't have any units in stock, and they only had the brown box replacement units. Should be fine regardless.

That’s what was frustrating. Brought my original box and everything. They said that is how that handle warranty exchanges. Device seems fine. Just didn’t want to get a refurb

In fact you had the choice to return the device and buy a new one. I think what you have experienced is a warranty service, not a retail exchange. But anyway, the iPhone 11 Pro models just came out, there’re nearly no difference between refurbished ones and new ones.

Thank you for the recommendation😏.
So you think it's a SW problem not HW?🤨
If it's sw, then I'm calm 😁.

Yep I think it’s SW.:p

Is there anyway to tell by my model or serial number
Go to:
Settings-> General -> About -> Model

and if the initial letter is:
M - you have new phone
F - refurbished
N - it is a device that has been replaced with a new one.

We only have LED on the bathroom mirror :p The rest of the place are all IKEA bulbs.
Pretty sure ikea bulbs are LED. Anyway, the problem seems non-existent (at least for me) under fluorescent bulbs. Second I go under LEDs the flicker starts.

ahhh I see:D

Maybe iPhone’s sensors are more sensitive to LEDs as they are much lighter?

Possibly, although it wouldn’t make much of a difference at this point. It should work under any lighting condition. I have another phone call with Apple engineers this morning. Will let you know what happens.

Hey guys, on a whim, I installed 13.2 beta 1. Issue appears to be gone *knock on wood*. just a quick flicker here or there when the lighting conditions demand the extra brightness. So as far as I can tell working as intended. I'm gonna downgrade back to 13.1.2 since Deep Fusion is seriously screwing with my photos. Anyway, hopefully this means a fix is incoming. Cheers all.

This ’flicker’ that is visible through the camera I think is PWM. It’s visible on my X and I’ve seen it in a number of YouTube videos with the OLED phones. I also see it on my work monitor and other screens.

Wrong wrong wrong. This flicker is completely visible to the naked eye! I know what PWM flicker is and it’s not that. Even the geniuses at the Apple bar were worried a recall might be necessary. This was not visible on my X or my Xs max. This is extremely slow flickering. Like a backlight on a laptop going out. Again, this is completely visible to the naked eye and ONLY appears when True Tone and night shift are both on.

Yeah, I misread the post and thought the bitching was about visible flickering when viewed through a camera lens. I think that was pretty obvious too. Saying wrong once would have sufficed.;)

Lol, my bad if it came off as rude. I’m so used to speaking with Apple reps at this point and having to repeatedly let them know that this is an actual issue.

Beta 1 actually fixed it (as I mentioned above), but I downgraded because it was killing my battery life. Not really down to re-install until battery life is solid again.
