do a clean flash of iOS it will solve the issue. Most issues with iOS comes because of upgrading from one version to the next version. i always completely flash my iPhone when i go to the Next iOS Version. im using DFU mode instead of Recovery Mode and then instead of upgrade i choose Restore. Be aware that it will delete everything on the Phone

the shown is not a lag. it is that the way the user swipes on first half it wants to go to the recent app screen but because he swipes up more it goes to home screen
From your two posts it seems you aren't familiar with the issue. Rest assured many things have been tried already including restoring with little success.

The video in that post does show the lag and it's just a normal swipe. I know it's hard to tell from a screen recording.

For what it is worth, I am no longer getting any stuttering since the latest beta update yesterday.

For the first time since getting the 14PM, I am also not seeing any lag in Fruit Ninja. No idea what has changed but seems to be making a difference!

Give it time. Had a few hours of peace today too after updating to 16.1.1 yesterday… now the hiccups are back full force.

Can people stop with “the 16.1.1 fixed it for me” posts? It hasn’t been fixed. It’s a universal problem and while a restore or a reset may have stopped it briefly, it will return.

16.1.1 doesn’t fix it, period.

Here I go again:

It hasn’t been fixed yet! Definitely not! Not at all! The issue is still present on iOS 16.2 Beta 1 e 2 and on iOS 16.1.1.

It doesn’t have anything to do with the way you touch your screen, but initially, when you’re not aware of the bug, it seems like you didn’t swipe up fast enough.

It’s a universal issue and, if some users didn’t experiment yet it’s because of their specific apps, usage and settings.

It has nothing to do with clean install, iCloud, system language, search icon, cellular connectivity, Jesus, Buddha, Biden, Trump, etc. There’s nothing you can do to fix it, like reset it, erase it, dance with it, etc. It will eventually come back. You’re completely and desperately helpless! It occurs intermittently and unpredictably, regardless to the app you’re in. It’s an iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max feature, just for you to understand that it’s intrinsic to these models, like the A16 bionic chip. So haven’t you seen it yet? Let me install my apps and apply my settings to your iPhone and you will surely see it.

Apple should be wondering how excited we are about iPhone 15. By the way, they should go **** themselves.

I wonder if Apple even considers this worth looking into. Of course I'm coming from Samsung, where stuff like this is routinely ignored and rarely fixed.

I've wondered this as well. They either aren't, or have and don't know how to remedy it and are just going to ignore it.

No thanks, I'm happy with my apps and not seeing it.

Do you guys use Apple Music? I might be wrong but It seems like the lag is worst when I stream music from the music app.
If I force close Apple Music and use for example Spotify it seems to be better , could you try and tell me what’s your experience ?

Do you mean when opening the app and waiting for the homepage to load?
That has been happening to me

Same with the App store

I can confirm this. Basically active media playback causing lag. I am still watching this thread even after I sell my iPhone 12 Pro. I faced this issues on iOS 15.

For now I am using Android phone for less than half the price. I can not convice my self to spend more than thousand bucks for laggy device.

I wrote 10 feedbacks about this issue. Year is gone and nobody from Apple solved the issue.

Still no lag for me on iOS 16.1.1 after doing a restore. I use apple music and not heard of this. iPhone 14 pro max.

I almost never use Apple Music. I just see that it's more noticeable once the RAM gets more full, then killing all apps (and having >1GB available) makes it better for a while. It's definitely a memory management problem. Probably Apple Music uses a lot of RAM which triggers it.

Has anyone actually tried if iOS 16.2 beta 2 solves it? I know it has other stutters (and that's why I'm not trying myself) but it would be interesting to know if that specific one has been solved.

This is not quite true. It's an iOS 16 issue, not an iPhone 14 Pro/PM issue.

Though it could be iOS 16 + 120hz display.

In any case, I first reported the issue on my iPhone 13 Pro Max in one of the final iOS 16 betas, before the release of the 14.

You’re right! We’ll never forget this. Apple doesn’t mention it in order to maintain their status. But, in time, Apple will be just another Samsung.
