I went to the Apple store today to test all the iPhone14 pro and iPhone14 pro max demonstration phones, all the phones are fine without any lag issues. . .

I don't know if it has something to do with the network connection, but when the connection (WIFI or Cellular wireless network) is weak, the stuttering problem is significantly exacerbated, and close the opening applications can help.

The reason is probably that demonstration phones at the Apple store don't have the same amount of apps installed and don't get used so intensively as someone's actual phones. I use my phone all day with a myriad of different apps. And that's when the problem starts happening. At the store people will only look at the usual couple of apps, and as far as I know, the iPhones are always reset overnight. So the problem will never appear.

Yeah exactly.

Right now I’m downloading iOS16.2 Public Beta - I will install it later and I will let you know guys if the problem still exist.

Btw. does the problem exist on clean iOS16.1?

Yes, it exists. I did a clean installation without backup. It's a bug that Apple is aware of and will fix it. It certainly helps to send feedback from this link so that he gets as many reports as possible.

I’ll install the latest beta later today

Sometimes tapping a field in a messaging app (doesn’t matter which one) requires a 2nd tap to activate texting

This is a recurring issue on my iPhone 14 Pro running 16.1. I've submitted a report through the Feedback Assistant link posted above.

I reset all settings and it hasn’t happened in over 24 hours which is the longest I’ve gone without seeing it. I’m not talking about a full erase and restore, just resetting all settings. It’s does restart your phone and completely removes any settings you had in place but it has (at least temporarily) fixed the issue for me.

It hasn’t been fixed yet! Definitely not! Not at all! The issue is still present on iOS 16.2 Beta 1 but now it’s 90% better. As someone here has said, it’s not enough. It has to be completely solved.

It doesn’t have anything to do with the way you touch your screen, but initially, when you’re not aware of the bug, it seems like you didn’t swipe up fast enough.

It’s a universal issue and some users don’t experiment because of their specific apps, usage and settings.

It has nothing to do with clean install, iCloud, system language, search icon, cellular connectivity, Jesus, Buddha, Biden, Trump, etc. There’s nothing you can do to fix it, like reset it, erase it, dance with it, etc. It will eventually come back. You’re completely and desperately helpless! It occurs intermittently and unpredictably, regardless to the app you’re in. It’s an iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max feature, just for you to understand that it’s intrinsic to these models, like the A16 bionic chip. So haven’t you seen it yet? Let me install my apps and apply my settings to your iPhone and you will surely see it.

My reset all settings didn’t work. It has returned.

Running iOS 16.0.2 on iPhone 14 Pro Max (512G).

When I open an application (random) and use it for a while, there will be a lag when I swipe up and close it. If I immediately reopen the same application and close it, the same problem will not occur. This doesn't happen every time, but from time to time.

Restarting the phone fixed the issue briefly, but it would come back after one day.
Yeah I have that too. Same phone but on iOS 16.1. I’ve heard it happens to others too, it’ll eventually get fixed no doubt.

Actually I think reset all setting is causing the problem..
I upgraded my iPhone 13PM to 14PM and never had this problem, until recently due to some other bugs (spotlight indexing) so I had to reset all setting, then I got the same issue. Very frustrating.

I’ve seen other posts from those experiencing issues after resetting all settings, especially Face/Touch ID issues in certain apps. I’ve never done this in all these years so I haven’t seen the issues that are being reported. No stuttering on my 14PM.

The lag disappeared after I deleted wallpaper set in lockscreen.😀

Guys, there is nothing we can do to achieve a permanent solution.

All changes, restarts, deleting things etc. only help for a certain time. The problem keeps coming back. Only Apple can fix the stuttering.

It’s not a fix but I just restart my device every time it happens. Delays the issue for a few hours and restarting a few times a day is doable while we wait for a fix from Apple.

Glad I’m not the only one experiencing this issue also noticed at times when swipe up on screen apps won’t close or even let me gotta turn phone off and on to fix issue weird bug I guess huh??

Did you guys see that MacRumors has acknowledged our issue?

“Alongside the fix for the Wi-Fi bug, Apple could address long-standing complaints from users since ‌iOS 16‌'s launch in September, including reports of battery drain, slow Spotlight search, and laggy animations on iPhone 14 Pro models when swiping out of apps. For new features, iOS 16.1.1 could include Emergency SOS via Satellite for iPhone 14and ‌iPhone 14 Pro‌ models.”

Apple released today iOS 16.2 Beta 2 for developers. Let’s see if it fixes the issue.

I can already see a lot of people here saying that they had their issue fixed after the first hours. Come on guys, the issue can take more than one week to reappear. And then it gets progressively worse.

I’m wondering if the iOS 16.2 beta 2 will have the same corrections as the 16.1.1 which will potentially fix our stutter.
