It has nothing to do with conditions of your phone. It’s a universal problem with the OS and it affects all of them.
Have you tested all of them? :)
I can only assure you that I had this issue constantly for iOS 16.0-16.1.
In my case, the universal issue is solved for ~3 weeks (beta1 and beta3)

For me it's really interesting: it took 3 days to come back on iOS 16.2 beta 3 (it was much faster to show up on 16.1.1) and now after having it for a few days, it started going away by itself. It happens way less often and when it does, it's way less noticeable and not "as bad".

I'm starting to wonder if it could be something server-side affecting it...

I gave in and factory restart with a fresh install. I couldn’t take it anymore.

Yeah, it seems to take longer to come back after the initial upgrade. Then once it does, a reboot only buys me about 8-12 hours. I've been wondering if it has something to do with the indexing that happens after an OS update.

It’s been a solid week for me since my last reboot with beta 3, without having any stutters on my 14 Pro. Have not changed any settings or installed apps, as far as I can think. Curious to know if anyone with the 14 Pro non-Max, is still getting it?

I’m with the 14PM and not stutter after almost 2 weeks. iOS 16.2B3. I won’t update until everyone affirms the update is stutter free.

This is so disappointing - may pick up a pixel 7. This is my first iPhone since the iPhone 5, been on android ever since. Never had weird issues like this on android.

I've been following this thread and only created an account to share this... I don't know if this is just wishful thinking on my part or coincidence, but since changing a setting yesterday, I've noticed a significant reduction in the swipe-up stutter (it's not completely eliminated) on my phone for the past 24 hours. I'm on 14 Pro Max, iOS 16.1.1.

General -> Software Update -> Automatic Updates = Off -> All sub-settings = Off

I have been happily using my back up phone over the past 10 days (a Samsung Fold 4) until the current situation gets resolved. It actually made me realise how much I like the Fold 4 with it being 3 devices in one (phone+tablet+Kindle substitute)

Have been following this thread since September and still haven’t found a solution for the stuttering issues. Created an account to post this random find that helped the stutter issue (at least temporarily).

After updating all apps in the App Store, I could feel that my 14pm operates faster and the stutter when swiping to Home Screen seem to have disappeared (for now). I’m on iOS16.1.1

Update: nvm, the stutter came back again.. I guess it got so bad that the slight improvement in stutter made me feel that it got fixed.

I called apple support about the issue and they said it was a known issue and supposedly fixed in 16.1.2, though I see nothing in their changelog. I’m not getting my hopes up. Let’s see…

Wonder if it's somehow related to the crash detection feature? That's definitely in the changelog

I’ve been using iOS 16.2B3 for more than 2 weeks with no stutter. But I’m not sure if it’s not gonna come back at some point. I am also not courageous enough to update until Apple and everyone confirms it’s definitely fixed.
