Figured. I saw the squared notifications bug this morning, so I figured the stutters wouldn't be too far behind. I'm starting to think they are somehow related.
The system is struggling to update instantly in both cases. God knows why. The hardware should cope with anything thrown at it.

This is the bad experience user I saw. I go to the Apple store to try exchange this iPhone 14pro. I think the 120 Hz is poorly supported.

I have 3 iPhones 14PM. It’s not hardware. It’s a devil thing related to apps, settings and maybe your ICloud account. Apple is trolling us. It seems Apple stopped doing it to me when I installed iOS 16.2B3. I haven’t changed anything else.

Put in a brand new ticket and it was almost immediately thrown into the fixed soon bucket. This is good news.

Not for 16.2 but for 16.2.1 or 16.3.

I don’t know the reason why iOS 16.2Beta3 fixed it for me. This is very strange. I won’t update then.
After having the stutter up through 16.1.2, 16.2 beta 3 was always smooth for me, as was b4. RC has been good for the day I’ve had it installed, but too early to say for sure, obviously.

Nice! I just hope they aren’t thinking 16.2 is fixing it, because it’s not. I updated my ticket with a new video and sysdiagnose from the RC. Hopefully someone will get an email at some point indicating which build contains the fix like you did with iOS 14.

Hi all! Yesterday I upgraded phone to 16.2 RC from 16.1.2 and for more than a day everything has been working well. Additionally, I disabled the "Attention Aware Features" face ID. Perhaps because of this setting there were problems :) Try someone, maybe it will help.

Hope this helps. Tired of stuttering problems.

I can't find this option why?

Apple do anything seriously please 🙏
I’ve talked to some IT experts and they believe Apple definitely don’t know how to fix it. It’s not a low priority issue or negligence.

Initially I thought those guys were making fun of me. I’m a physicist and a physician (I know it’s bizarre) and I’m 100% sure of biological, macrocosmos and quantum mechanics insoluble complexity. I’ve never thought, tough, a hardware and software developer like Apple could not predict the outcomes of such interaction. They’ve designed it and tested it. They probably have seen the stutter. Maybe, on the other hand, it was too late to turn back. iOS 16 is a tragedy (iOS androidization). The interaction among iOS 16 customizations, 120Hz refresh rate,
iPhone 14 P/PM display and dynamic island became too complex.

That’s the reason why they say a potential fix was identified. They seem to care but they don’t know how to pull their **** together. That was so frustrating for me to discover.

My fear is that it is an hardware issue… due to the 120 Hz. It’s too long to fix it and it’s not on all the device…

Would have been a constant even after software updates. Not a single stutter here since installing the RC.

For how long have you been testing the new RC?
Since it came out. That's not the point. A hardware problem would not have been temporarily fixed by new software. Just saying.

I am also highly annoyed by this ongoing issue but refuse to turn into a drama queen over it.

Yep it’s definitely an OS issue. Closing apps fixes it for me every time until a few hours later. I’m currently trying turning off the face detect feature as suggested. Not had it stutter yet but I know that’s me having false hope again!

EDIT: It just stuttered 😂
