Ow, and KeyBen as well :p

But as Shanghai is 6 hours ahead of CET and the flight departed on june the 29th (local time), I would assume the 15 hour flight from Shanghai to Amsterdam would have arrived somewhere on saturday which means it's already in NL (Arnhem hub?).

So actualy delivery on the july the 3rd (just like the ETA above) seems plausible. And that would be 3 days sooner than expected! (July 6th). Sure hope so it will be here next tuesday :D

It is sort of like Christmas in July. Make sure you let us know when you receive it and please, please report back that it is perfect in every way!

It damn well better be, or I'll have to use that c4 I've been stori- I...uh..didn't say that out loud did I?:p

First Mac!

Hey, my first post here, and my first Mac I ordered.

I ordered my first Mac (MBP 17") on Monday (or was it Tuesday) of last week. I ordered it with a HD screen/glossy, and the 7200RPM drive. They said it would go out between the 27th and 29th. I did not know there were options for shipping because I was not told about them.

However when a friend asked, and said to call them back. I told the guy on the phone I was not told about shipping, he hooked me up with 2 day shipping at no cost.

No delay on hardware, no delay on shipping (went out on 28th) and per FedEx it is sitting in the local warehouse and will be delivered tomorrow (at work).

HELL YEAH I say...it better be worth it. A lot to spend on your first Mac wouldn't you say?

Take care, and I look forward to posting on the forums more often!

Scott

Osprey, any luck? - there's still no activity on my credit card ,only one more day until estimated shipping though!

Ooh... free MBP! ;)

Lets hope they're not free as in "escaped from the truck"...

:)

Anyone of those whose plane took off on the 29th seen an update with it landing yet? It'll run out of fuel if it doesn't touch down soon!

Nothing new on apecode :/ - i don't think its very accurate seems to have a long delay updating

Does your code work with tnt yet ?

Nah, not a sausage on TNT.

From looking at people's updates so far, I seem to be the last person to get their information updated. I'm also liable to be delayed while they bundle my power adapter into the shipment (probably when it hits the UK) so I might not see proper tracking until later.

For now I'll settle for knowing it's landed in Europe and is on it's way to the UK!

02 Jul 2007 10:50 Bodmin Import Received

It's close. Should be delivered tomorrow or the day after.

Nope no changes and nothing trackable on the TNT site yet; they indeed seem quite slow in updating. Perhaps all MBP's are on a palet and they cannot scan all individial packages but only the palet as a whole or something? One would expect some updates on the tracker though  I sure hope that ETA in the apecode tracking is the real delivery date; then it should be here tomorrow :)

Priority 2

I just got of the phone with apple to ask about my order. The lady on the (I)phone also thought waiting till July 19th before it ships is a bit long. I was informed my order was priority 2 at this moment, and then she changed it to priority 1! What ever that means?

You don't live very far from the depot in Arnhem.

Could you go down to the depot and wait for the lorry to arrive. Or even better - volunteer to help, find our palette, zap our barcodes and push them to the front of the queue ? :)

Hey, status update... looks like they arrived in Amsterdam (NL AMS) :D

02 jul 07 86 14 booking slot obtained Apple Shanghai 03 jul 07
02 jul 07 30 10 departed direct NLAMS07 03 jul 07
02 jul 07 40 69 accept scanned at EDC NLAMS07 03 jul 07
29 jun 07 32 55 flight departed Kuehne & Nagel Shanghai 03 jul 07
28 jun 07 32 05 Flight Booked Kuehne & Nagel Shanghai 03 jul 07
27 jun 07 30 63 handover at supplier Apple Shanghai 03 jul 07
27 jun 07 30 64 Departed from source Kuehne & Nagel Shanghai 03 jul 07

Googling the web I found that the next status update should be a bit confusing: 'truck arrived at final destination Apple Shanghai'. This will then probably be the apple hub in Arnhem from which the machines will be transported to the different end customers (together with the orderered extra's like my dvi to svideo adapter).

So, I am now beginning to think the ETA 03 jul will be at the apple hub in Arnhem and the expected delivery date to me will remain the 6th of july...

Maybe they've had enough of us complaining/refreshing and they're shipping them back to Shanghai :)

In theory though it sounds like it's on it's way from AMS to wherever it's got to go to next (hopefully the UK, though in my case probably an apple warehouse rather than the delivery chain).

I can't seem to track mine at all at the moment. Maybe it's updating, maybe it's broken...

Apecode FAQ explain

"3. What does ETA mean, and can it be trusted?
ETA means "Estimated Time of Arrival", and is the date at which the courier believes you should have the item in your own hands. Unfortunately it seems like it more often means the time when the parcel is handed over to the EDC.

4. What is the EDC, and why is it important?
EDC is the TNT "European Distribution Center". This means that once the status is "Accept scanned at EDC", TNT has received the package. This is when things start to happen, and you can expect to have it in 1-3 days."
