I noticed someone on this forum talking about an issue with the game turning purple and green.
My game got here on Friday, i just unpacked it today. However, after i installed and started a quick battle, it worked fine. Five minutes into the battle, the screen had purple and green blotches, and looked all weird.
It did the same in several other battles i started, and it happened on the campaign screen and in a campaign battle.
What can we do?
I got my copy about a week ago and im loving it. I was just curious though i think i remember someone saying there'd be a checkbox or something to unlock all the factions but i can't find it. Was that feature included or am i imagining things?

Yes, have a look in the Advanced tab in the opening Options Panel (the one before you go full screen).
This is most likely because you have enabled and blocked the game using the Apple firewall, Apple's firewall will "sign" the application if you have it blocked in doing so it alters the executable which causes the game to have side effects.
The easiest fix is to not place Rome (or BI) on your blocked list THEN reinstall from the DVD. The only time the game goes online is for the software update check and that is anonymous. If you don't want it to check disable it in game this will still work and also mean Apple don't sign the game causing the executable to be changed.

How come it re-occursi followed that advice but it still occurs AFTER going back online then going back to sp
what are the steps to turning off the apple firewalls?
just want to make sure i do it correctly so i don't have to reinstall twice.
They are off by default so if you don't know about firewalls on your Mac you most likely have never turned them on.

well, i was told the problem with the purple and green blotches was because of a firewall blocking rome. If i haven't turned them on then what is the problem?
How would you turn them off in case i have turned them on on accident?
You can check by having a look in System Preferences, then Security & Firewall to see if you have any turned on. I can't seem to run Barbarian Invasion without the graphics being jerky.
we released an automatic update for Barbarian Invasion last Friday...it may solve any problems you might be having.
is there a way to not show the game files drive and have its files open every time I open the game?

is it possible that parental controls could be causing a block on the application even after the game is allowed?
I've only experienced crashes on BI, not the original. I received a response from my report within 24 hours.
You're probably better off playing the original until they are finished with the UB patch. I'm guessing the fixes for these crashes will probably be included to kill 2 birds.
