One Question

Forgot to ask this but if I were to go to an apple store at say 5:30 pm on friday they should have the game in stock right? (unless it's sold out)

It is priced at $30 RRP (you might get better deals if you look about) or £20 pounds if you are in the UK. For a complete game and expansion pack which takes well over 200 hours to complete that is not bad value I hope!

Wait 200 hours? I could play rome for thousands of hours! How dare you insult rome like that!:D

Will there be any improvement compared to window version?

I am wondering why Rome total war? Why not Empire total war? Rome total war was released 5 years back and just now they remember to modify the same game to run in mac osx? I think we may see Empire total war at 2015 in mac osx.. all I can say is well done.

Obviously they didn't chose the others for licensing reasons.

More importantly, even if Empire TW was ported, it wouldn't work on the large majority of macs out there (atleast with anything having a 9400 and lower GPU).

I agree with you; many of mac users do not have gaming grade gpu as you've mentioned that can handle ETW. I believe apple may blamed for that because the number of gpu that can work in mac osx are so limited and outdated in my opinion. If apple support gaming in mac osx like they are doing with iphone and in their upcoming device ipad; I believe we will see most games released in the market have a mac version.

It depends on loads of different factors, including where the Apple Store is, what distributor they're using, what delivery service they're using to get the games to the store and so on. It's definitely possible that it'll be in your local store on Friday, but if not I imagine it'll be in stock next week.

They're Shipping?

OK, I received an e-mail this morning (February 3rd) asking if I had an Intel or PPC Macintosh. Apparently they're planning on shipping to everyone with an Intel Mac, since the PPC version of Rome: Total War is not sufficiently polished (the PPC version will get a patch in a few weeks).

I too received the email from Sylvie this afternoon asking about intel or PPC. Very polite.

I was just wondering if anyone's status on the Feral tracking page has changed from "Processing" to "Processed..." or "Dispatched" yet? I replied to the email, but nothing has yet changed.

Thanks! Looking forward to it.

Spot on about "Empire", so maybe in a few years time when more consumer Macs catch up in the graphics dept. However, I can't see any reason not to port "Medieval 2" if sales of Rome are decent enough.

It's not like there are that many classic PC games out there that really need a KB to be played optimally that haven't yet made it to Mac. There are still a good few, but not exactly loads. For those games that don't need KBs & haven't made it to Mac, I think consoles are fine for most gamers.

Wait no longer

The wait is finally over! Rome Total War is finally out for the mac! We can now march along side Rome's finest, and bring them through great victories! Before I go I will quote the Great Julius Caesar "Veni Vidi Vici!" (I came I saw I conquered)
