you said it is an award-wining phone. yet its value plummets so fast within 6 months. so your claiming of it as great phone is contradicting with market value.

you can call it as great as you want but market demand (consumers) decides what value and how great it is.
You my friend are fantastic comedy value tonight.
Let's put this to bed, the s7 edge has won several global awards as phone of the year including the very prestigious T3 awards. As far as the voting criteria goes, I'm pretty sure they look.at the device and everything that it brings to the table. The end. Resale value is 100% irrelevant as you well know, you are just scraping so low down at the bottom of the barrel to find some reason why this half baked Samsung price of crap.is deemed to be superior than your prescious iGOD phone. Is that maybe because the god phone isnt actually all that these days....

Gotta be in it to win it
Can you explain in very simple terms so I can understand how your reply has anything to do with what I wrote?

I'll save you the bother. NOTHING!!

Next time try and make your reply have some context please.

All you need to know is that as far as the tech world.is concerned this year, that the galaxy s7 edge made by SAMSUNG is the premier device released in 2016. Does that bite a tad?
Well it is the premier android device, IMO.

I see, so you are not capable of understanding how something that costs so much less then an iPhone can be so much better? Because in your mind, the Apple marketing machine has brain washed you to believe it must be an expensive iPhone to be the best, anything cheaper is garbage?

Do you ever stop and think to yourself, just how did Apple get all that money? Whilst handing over several hundred to several thousand of your currency for old tech? The longer an item is in production the cheaper it is to make, that includes over a year, and yet Apple passes NONE of those savings onto you the customer.

ok let me lay it out for you. it is not about me or you who decide what value or how great a phone is. it is consumers, market demand. I can claim how great an iphone is but if consumers do not think so, then its value will lose.

Let the market speak for itself. no marketing machine or hype can help, nor you or me.

Erm, it is for me to decide because I am part of this consumer market. You don't seem to understand how businesses work, how they manipulate markets. I won't explain it and just let you believe Apple is the best if it makes you happy, just ignore the nasty profiteering aspect of a corporation.

What are you still.banging on about your favourite word VALUE for? Who apart from you has even mentioned it. I said the s7 has word phone of the year awards. Fact!! , not bad for a device that is half baked using your words. Are you trying to suggest that the voting tech journalists all accross.the web have all made huge mistakes when they filled out their voting slips . All they had to do was check out used prices on ebay and BOOM, there's your no 1 phone of the year.
This is comedy gold, keep it up, you are giving a lot of folk a lot of entertainment tonight old.boy..

s7 edge was released officially 6 months ago in March. it is sold for around $380 used with retail price of $790. that is around 52% loss of value within 6 months. that is a so-call year-award phone. if it is a great phone, why it loses value so much and so fast?

iphone 6s+ 32GB current retail is $650 and sold around $450 used on ebay. so it loses around 30% value. and it is one-year-old phone.

S7 edge lost 52% value after 6 months.
6s+ lost 30% value after 1 year.

android phone lost values faster than they can release a new one.

talk about grasping for straws

Samsung has never copied Apple to the extent people say.I don't understand where this is coming from
It seems like most statements like this are made by people who have a diehard allegiance to a phone OS. Why they feel this way, I'll never know. Anyway, when anything comes along to contend with their OS of preference, their feathers get ruffled and they need to attack it; for whatever reason. Android competes with iOS, and the most notable Android OEM is Samsung, so Samsung literally gets all the hate from iOS extremists. So, whenever Samsung is rumored (or does) anything similar to Apple, claws be comin' out! One thing is for certain though: both you and I will never umderstand why these people think this way.

So you are making a thread about 2 devices that haven't even been released yet? If push comes to shove Samsung has had less bezels since years now. Apple is the one sticking with big bezels and not offering any benefit at all to it (i.e. notification LEDs).
I always thought an led light on the bezel would be nice like blackberrys had!

Samsung is already full-steam ahead in creating the Galaxy S8 all the while basing the design off of Apple'a rumored plans for the iPhone 8. It's being reported that Samsung will remove the home button as well as eliminate the top and bottom bezels: two moves Apple is likely preparing for the iPhone 8 due to be released next year. As Samsung's Galaxy brand is just an iPhone copycat, there will also be a dual camera setup on the S8.

Yes, the iPhone version of this design won't explode.

http://www.androidauthority.com/com...utton-full-screen-display-dual-camera-720700/

Samsung will debut the phone in February, a full seven months before Apple debuts the iPhone 8.
Last I checked Samsung already has the curved display that the 8 will maybe have and has a much better screen to bezel ratio that the 8 will have..
So who is copying who exactly?

The title of this thread makes no sense. How can Samsung be copying something that's not even out yet, and won't be out for almost year. And this new S8 is very close to release, in 2 months, and the supposed iPhone 8 won't be for a long time.

Plus if the rumored iPhone 8 mock up designs are remotely close to correct, it looks to be copying Samsung's Note 7 line very much. Whereas the iPhone has always had it's distinct look with huge ugly bezels and the outdated home button on the front, this new iPhone 8 looks to really be different from the norm, and extremely similar in design to a Samsung phone.

But at the end of the day, there's only so much you can do with a rectangular shaped gadget with a screen on the front.

The biggest difference is the OS they are running. iOS blows, and Touchwiz sucks too, only stock vanilla Android rules.

Or, Apple might keep the same stale big bezel c-section line look for another year so four years straight of having to answer when people ask if it's the 6, 6S, 7 or 7S.

that will likely be lining up with the new design iphone 8.

That will not be the new main flagship option. That rumour is likely BS anyway

How exactly do you copy something that hasn't been released?

Samsung has been reducing bezel size with each iteration.

And some companies like Motorola already have buttonless phones.

Just like how Apple announced the designs and stuff for the Apple watch before Samsung announced anything. Then Samsung announced theirs and released theirs before Apple got theirs out. It's sad but Samsung copies and jumps and releases things faster after Apple announces it.

Apple Watch announced Sep 2014, released Apr 2015.

Don't you get it!? Its the Apple Fanboy Way Of Life to claim anything Samsung does to be copied from Apple.

The day iPhones get Fast Charging + Fast Wireless Charging, as well as curved SuperAMOLED displays, the Apple Fanboys will claim Samsung copied it from Apple.

Its what they do, but Apple never EVER copy anything, LOL!!!

The number of people who actually think Samsung is copying apple by the rumours are just ridiculous. Lol

Its the same story every year, after Samsung came up with something, a new apple rumor came up saying apple "already had a plan to test/release a similar product to Samsung's new release"

After the curve screen phones from Samsung, the rumours of apple testing a curved oled iPhone surfaced.

It happens every year, and i can't believe people still fall for it. Lol

Ironically, Samsung is the one who did some major redesign with their phones, not the iPhone which has nothing but "RUMORS"

Plus, it's not like Samsung has been purposefully keeping bigger bezels just because the iPhone has them. As soon as the technology is available to shrink bezels, companies will do it if it's worth it. In this case, Samsung (and Apple) wanted the fingerprint sensor/home button on the front, which required bigger bezels. Once that can be added to the screen, they can do away with it.

Wrong. Look up their history before you start calling people names.

Sammy had a watch in 2009...

No they didn't. That wasn't a smartwatch.

Apple had their plans for a smartwatch back in 2013.

Samsung Gear S announced Feb 2014, released Aug 2014.
Apple Watch announced Sep 2014, released Apr 2015.

Reality seems to have annihilated your post.

No sir. Apple had their plans for a smartwatch back in 2013. Before Samsung ever even mentioned it in 2014 about their Gear watches. Samsung jumped on that and announced they were coming out with one and rushed one out. Again, Apple was first to the table with the idea.

On February 10, 2013, both The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple was beginning to develop an iOS-based smartwatch with a curved display.[16] On February 12, 2013, Bloomberg reported that Apple's smartwatch project was "beyond the experimentation phase in its development", and had a team of at least 100 designers working on the project.[17] Further reports in March 2013 indicated that Apple planned to release the device by the end of the year.[18] In July 2013, Financial Times reported that Apple had begun hiring more employees to work on the smartwatch, and that it was targeting a possible retail release in late 2014.[19]

In April 2014, Apple CEO Tim Cook told The Wall Street Journal that the company was planning to launch new product categories that year, but did not reveal any specifics.[20] In June 2014, Reuters reported that production was expected to begin in July for a release in October.[21]

On September 9, 2014, during a press event where the iPhone 6 was also presented, the new product was introduced by Tim Cook as "the next chapter in Apple's story" with a video that focused on its design and the various combinations of bands and case styles that would be available to the consumers. After the reveal video, the auditorium was filled with prolonged applause and a standing ovation as Tim Cook reappeared onstage wearing an Apple Watch. Apple CEO Tim Cook explained that Apple Watch was "a precise timepiece, a new intimate way to communicate from your wrist, and a comprehensive health and fitness device."[22][23]

No sir, I was around when Apple showed their designs before actually announcing it. Them Samsung jumped on the bandwagon with their gear watches. Like I said, Apple was first with an actual smartwatch like the Gear ones.

Just like the touch sensor. Apple had it first. Then Samsung got it. Then Apple remove the headphone jack first, now Samsung on the S8 is removing the headphone jack. Now Apple wasn't the first on the two cameras, but it took apple to do it to get Samsung to do it on the S8. Also now a touch button for the home button, Apple did, now The s8 supposedly will have one.

Apple had Apple Pay first on the Apple watch and working before Samsung had it working on their watches. Both copy each other at one time or another, but Samsung has definitely copied Apple more.
