No you are missing the point. This is an Samsung Galaxy Fold topic, the video is about the Samsung Galaxy Fold, and the discussion is about the Samsung galaxy Fold. So instead of whining about it, you should stop complaining, if you accuse others of it.
so what did the other Samsung Fanboys from YT or other sites say that you are whining about?
Somebody from another site and YT said something about a crease...and you're whining about it here?

Go whine about it to them....
If you didn't read comments on sites, boards or on YouTube, when people are saying something about the crease on the Mate X as some argument that the Fold is better, because they thought the screen of the fold was resistant of that, well that's on you. I can say I did.
We would like to discuss what is said HERE......
no name calling....no whining....
no one said anything about the crease here...except you....

You really do not make any kind of sense. First of all if you don't know the definition of whining, read it before posting. Because you're contradicting yourself. And actually you seems to whine about someone else opinion. Secondly I'm not going to dictate you about what others are saying. If you're to lazy to search or look with your own eyes well that's a pity for you.

Third re-read again, or look up the difference between "in general" or "only". Then read your own sentence about the "crease". It doesn't make sense. So everyone except you and that other guy do actually get it.

Seriously, no one here even suggested there would be no crease.
What people on other sites are saying ( haven't seen anyone say there wouldn't be a crease, the opposite actually) has no real relevance to this thread.

Telling people not to read or comment because you don't like what they are saying is my definition of whining.

Why don't we all just wait til both devices are out in the wild and real comparisons can be made.

If you don't want to read opinions of others, how about not commenting?

Well, I could suggest the same thing but it doesn't really make much sense does it?

Do you need glasses or something. Tell me where did I make the assumption that the comment about the crease is only related to the people in this topic who visit Macrumors. Secondly the topic of this subject is the Samsung Galaxy Fold, this topic is exactly for everything what's related to this phone. So it might be not relevant in your eyes, but that's only in your mind. Factualy it's relevant. And I've never said "telling people not to read", actually exactly the opposite of that. And this proofs again that you didn't read the content. Anyway this is getting boring. If you want to talk about the phone go ahead, if you want to keep it off-topic, just send a DM.

I wonder if they will do a trade in deal like for the S10 series. It would be nice to knock a few hundred off the cost of being a guinea pig. :p

The crease looks okay when you’re just looking at a butterfly on a black background. I mean I expect to endure some compromises like that in the early years in exchange for the convience of essentially having a phone and IPad mini type of slab in one.

I want to see what it does to black text on a white background. It could be negligible or a complete deal breaker. Reading text across a distortion can really do some people’s heads in.

Aesthetically speaking, by current standards it really is an awkward looking thing when closed. However, at my age and having seen the evolution of computers from room filling mainframes to little Windows Pocket PC’s, I find it to have a certain retro charm. It takes me back to an era somewhere in the 90’s and most definitely before the iPhone set the standard, when every other month some company was releasing its version of the ultimate pocket computer.

We had so many players in the game back then, most of them western companies, some Japanese, many old established names like HP and even Hitachi. And these devices were crazy-awkward looking, but they tried hard to be clever and solve a myriad of ergonomics problems, but amusingly and frustratingly introducing almost as many as they solved.

But what I appreciated was the creativity and imagination and the never ending daring. My Hitachi G1000 featured a clever rotating camera, for example. It was a selfie camera and the main camera. It also had decent quality for that era. It’s a shame the concept lived and died on that phone, because it worked really well and made a lot of sense and I miss that implementation to this day.

Once the iPhone came to prominence we were doomed to a world of thin featureless slabs. They’re sleek and sensible but ultimately very dull now that we’ve had a decade of them.

I’m really digging the crazy on display here. :D

Anybody here tempted? All my friends are shocked I'm not interested given my history buying new tech. I've said it's not quite mature enough yet.

As in theory having one device instead of a phone and tablet makes sense given what I pay for a phone and tablet. Combined its about the same as this anyway but don't think I'm ready to think about a first gen product yet

I’m tempted, but the expense is very difficult to contemplate. I count myself very fortunate with the trade in deal to get a new S10+ for well under $500...assuming Samsung ever releases the hold on my preorder. Much later in the year, I hope to cut a similar deal on the Pixel 4.

People who see me drooling all over these phones probably lose track of the fact I’m usually working out the deals and actually am more conservative with my purchases than it looks at first glance. I have a certain annual budget I shoot for in this “hobby” and purchasing either the Fold or the Note 10 would probably blow that all to dust.

It’s really rare that I do that. The last time I did something like that was for the Product Red iPhone 8 Plus. I bought that outside of an upgrade schedule without another phone to trade in to lower the cost. (Well I had one but my sister-in-law has it).

Even though I didn’t send my Pixel 2 in for my Pixel 3XL purchase, that 3XL was bought on sale so there was that going for it.

Also, at my age and place in life I’m sadly aware that just because I can buy something, it doesn’t mean I should. Lol, but yeah, I kind of do want to!

Ugh, the crease down the middle of the screen looks really bad. For me it would be like air bubbles under a screen protector, something I could not live with.

Have to say, I really like this part the design, the hinge cover, I remember Nokia used to do things like this on the Nokia N97 and E90 Communicator, just adds a touch of class to it, very nice attention to detail.

That's actually the part I don't like, it's too gaudy. Samsung has always liked their fake chrome look since the beginning when they always used plastic chrome. Of course this is truly metal and very high quality, but I would have preferred black or color matched. When you look at the fold it literally looks like 2 phones sandwiched together, I'm not a big fan of that look.

Samsung mentioned you can choose one of four colours for the hinge.

Good gracious if I can get the right mix of blue and yellow I will have a great Pokemon Go phone! Alas, I no longer play very often. :(
[doublepost=1553783034][/doublepost]Lol...my husband and I have had many arguments about the Galaxy Fold. Well not arguments exactly but discussions that sound just like this one between Dave and Lou...Dave sounds like my husband, while I apparently am channeling Lou. And sadly, no, I won't be getting the Fold. Husband puts his vote down on a solid no and my pragmatic side has to agree, because $1980...a great year but a terrible price. But I do get to upgrade my iPad mini.
