I don't know about you, but I would be looking at the glorious 6inch or 8inch screens rather than a hinge, but I guess our phone usage differs.

You were talking design, the hinge is a huge part of the design.
If the design is ugly, it is ugly and I won't buy it, no matter how good the screen looks.
Tsepz, which foldable are you buying?
Are you willing to forgive such a cheap looking hinge?
Seriously, go and look at some close ups of the device, it looks like an aircraft passenger ramp boot.

First of all where did I say anything about design in my post about the Energizer phone, my post was all about Display size (No iPhone SE display, No Notch)

Second of all, I doubt this thing is even planned to be released where I live.

Third, nobody could touch the device at launch, it was behind a glass case, signs that even the manufacturer are not very confident in their first try device....

Quit being so serious.

Although, I bet this is what the Galaxy Fold 2 and Fold 3 will look like once Samsung sorts out the hinge size, to allow a larger front display.

Hopefully when Samsung gets this right they will have a design like this Energizer phone, THEN they can take my money!

I'm not being serious, it was just a really ugly hinge.

It's not perfect, but it's closer to it than some others that have chosen this sort of foldable method with the multiple screens.

Hopefully there will be some hands on with these other Foldable devices, I am getting sick of just seeing the employees of the company showcasing them. This thing was kept in a glass case as well, so nothing to show how the hinge works etc... Uggh.

It's going on sale in a month.
Rest assured, there will be in-depth review videos and such, much sooner than the others, which aren't available for quite a while.

Here is another dual screen phone to chew on. Way cheaper than the fold and in fact doesn't fold, has screen on front and back. Interesting.

Interesting , but I'm not sure what the benefits are having dual displays? If one was an e-reader, maybe. However, just turning your phone over to see the same thing?

The design of this product is trash. It's a bad prototype at best. Foldable phones might work, but this isn't it. The Huawei is closer but even then it's not glass so I'm not sure it's a good choice as a longer term device.

I wouldn't say trash but it also isn't even $1000. $750 to $850 while the others are $2k. I'm not interested but I don't think it's trash either.

I see that as a different device to the Fold.

It doesn't turn into a tablet, so it's another category altogether.

There's been a few devices like this since last year, they were trying to avoid putting a Notch on the front display, so they removed all the cameras and put a display on the back so that when people want to take selfies they can use the main camera and still have a display.

I still think this is the more complete folding phone, compared to the X.
Sure, it's not as pretty as the X, but it sure seems more polished.

I think outward facing screens will eventually be shown to be a terrible idea.

Me too :) .... but ...

I thought I read that as a so-called luxury phone, it won't be on general display, but rather sold somewhat like the Apple Watch Edition by appointment.

I think it will be on display in the Samsung store. But close to release date.

They will not be able to keep that going for long. with all the other companies racing to bring foldable to market.

The Galaxy Fold would have been a instant buy for me if it included the S-pen....for 2 grand I would have loved a S-pen device so just waiting for the Note 10 for now..........

Can we just go back to bezels? They weren't that bad. :p

I'm amazed at the lengths these companies will go to to avoid cameras on the front on the phone...

...like putting an ENTIRE SEPARATE SCREEN ON THE BACK...

...or a MOTORIZED POPUP CAMERA...

It's getting a little ridiculous.

They really were.

They made phones bigger than they needed to be. Very inefficient design.

And yet... some of these new "bezel-less" phones have 6" or larger screens.

So instead of shrinking the bezels to reduce the overall size of the device... they just pushed the screen to the edge of the existing already large body. Or made them larger!

I hear what you're saying though. :)

I'm still using an iPhone 6S Plus which has "huge" bezels by today's standards.

But even though the bezels look big compared to other phones... they're still smaller than the width of my thumb. So I don't feel like the bezels create a bunch of actual wasted space. (and I still enjoy the TouchID sensor :p)
