Meh, updates. Bloody hate 'em myself. You either get a bug, a change you didn"t want, or worse battery drain. I simply cannot stand an 'update' that introduces a battery drain so I keep all updates switched off. I have just been burned too many times.

The only time I get to see a new operating system or new feature is when I buy a new phone and I wouldn't have it any other way...

Same here , i didn't update the major one and last 2. I like my Note10 as it is.

So, I just unlocked my Note 10 to use on Verizon, popped in my sim, the phone reset, then had a Verizon splash screen on boot up. Does this mean it now have Verizon firmware? And would I now he getting my updated from them and not at&t?

What region phone do you have?

Usually once a month they get updates.

Australian, unlocked. I’m also located in Australia using an Australian SIM card. My last two updates were all delayed too. January update on Feb 25, Dec update came with Android 10 in January

I have insurance with at&t, so I get them repaired that way. Cheapest way to do so, these curved displays aren't cheap!

I know this is a rather late post. But are you required to have insurance with AT&T as soon as you purchase the phone? Unfortunately, I cracked my display.. just wanted to know my options.

Your in luck, generally they do require you get it when you purchase the device, but everyone in a while they have a special "open rollment" period where you can add it to an existing phone. And right now it's an open enrollment period (until the end of March). Just log into your account online and add it. But you should probably wait a couple of weeks before you make a claim, as technically it could be considered insurance fruad.

Yeah, I see theres an open enrollment.. but as of now. The Note doesn't apply for the special, but yeah... I guess I'll have to wait it out. Looked on the Samsung site.. and it's $280 to fix it. I'd rather find something a little more reasonable. Hopefully another special comes around again.

If you have multiple lines, you could also try enrolling in the multiple device insurance plan on another line.

From my experience, a screen replacement at Samsung also includes a new battery and new frame.

Yes, I have multiple lines. But when trying to use the open enrollment.. they have 3 selections to choose from and neither of them have the Note eligible. Perhaps, because I‘ve only had the Note for maybe 2 or 3 months. I’m guessing if I had it longer... the Note would be eligible.

At this point, I’m just going to wait it out. I hate having a crack screen... but it’s not as bad as it could of been.

So you mean you couldn't get the insurance on your line, or are you saying when you try to make an insurance claim your note isn't listed? As long as you have the insurance on your line, you can call them up and get the claim done that way.

If you can't get insurance added onto your line, but can on another line, try to get the multiple device insurance added to that line and then you can get your note covered that way.

Either way, good luck, I feel your pain, I having to deal with a cracked screen.

So apparently the One UI 2.1 update for the Note 10/10+ is rolling out now and includes the April update. Meanwhile, I'm still here waiting on the March update...hopefully soon.

what do you guys think about the S-Pen on the Note series? I’ve always thought it seems useful. I’ve wanted Apple to add a smaller Apple Pencil to the iPhone for a while now.

For me, it's a killer feature. I recently switched to a Note 10 Lite (from iPhone XR) and it's just fantastic to have the pen stowed away and ready to go whenever you need to quickly take a note. I especially love the fact that you can write on the screen without unlocking the device.

I also have an iPad Pro 11 with Apple Pencil – that's great too but as far as I'm concerned the best device is always going to be the one that is with you at all times and Apple simply doesn't have a viable alternative to the Note in this regard.

i’ve admired the Note series for a while from a far. The S-pen seems like it would be useful to me, I often make notes and some of those times it’s at an inconvenient time. I hear it can do a lot more, including being able to draw and convert hand writing to text.

I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max at the moment, I will be very intrigued as to what Samsung announce with the next Note.

I bought an iphone 11 Pro and then exchanged it for a Note 10. Decided Android wasn't for me and switched back to iPhone...

Then I started to miss the note 10 and actually exchanged again and here I am now with the note 10 since late November. And I love it.

a lot of swapping 😂 I currently have the iPhone 11 Pro Max, I’m thinking of waiting until the next Note comes out and seeing what that has.

It's definitely worth giving it a try. I don't regret it. Definitely took sone adjustment. Highlighted a lot of the positives and negatives about the apple way. Android and Samsung have their own deficiencies in some areas as well. But it's fun to try something new.
