Still no email from Samsung and no update on the website, but it’s a 2lb package and I haven’t ordered anything else. ?

It’s just so weird. When I had the S10 the FPS was absolutely flawless.
I got a shipping notice from fedex and Samsung that my order will be here the 21st. 2 packages. One with the phone and galaxy buds and the other with the portable battery backup!

Just been into the town centre and there still aren’t any note 10’s on display in any of the phone stores. At this rate I don’t think I will see it until it comes out.

The new firmware is dubbed version N975FXXU1ASH5 and comes in at just over 307 MB. It includes several key enhancements including improved fingerprint recognition, camera quality and touchscreen performance. In addition, the update also adds the August security patch.

My preorder status for my phone and one of the cases, which had held firm for August 23rd as of a couple of days ago now says September 4th.

I preordered through the reservation and ordered the same day as the Unpacked event if I remember correctly—wait, it was late at night after the orders went live. How the hell am I getting pushed back to September 4th? School will be back in session and I have to do the pickup. This week was my last free week to not worry about leaving the house to pick up kids.
If this date doesn’t budge I’m going to cancel this pre order and give up on Note. My attempt to order the Note 9 last year was a complete cluster cluck for first me, then my husband. I’m tired of being jerked around by Samsung.
I’ve seen on Android Central that this has happened to others and that the delivery date went back to August 23rd. So I’ll wait and see what happens before I actually blow a gasket.
Edit: just checked on Android Central and those posts pertained to late orders. I don’t see anything about orders like mine. In fact I see orders placed after mine that seem to be ready to ship. Mine can still be canceled and will be late.

Depreciating value on the sticker price is not a measure of true cost of ownership even in the US where Iphones tend to have healthier re-sale value
On a like for like basis especially when factoring trade in's and accessories and bundled services etc Samsung are the same if not cheaper for most than Iphone ownership even over 2 or 3 years
Most get amazing trade-ins $150-$275 worth of bundled goodies, free cases generous cloud storage etc etc with a Samsung and those that wait a little while get generous discounts etc opposed to the early adopters bundles
We all know how Apple stealthily gouge your wallet by added services and subscriptions and ECO hooks etc
Your just fooling yourself if you think an Iphone is cheaper because it devalues ~$200 less than others, you have to work a lot harder and cheap out to be on the same page

I said its funny how you threw the term "value" out there and the phone is $1100 and does not offer any significant advantages or upgrades to phones that cost half that price let alone missing key features of some of these cheaper phones.
People mention Dex and the SPen where 90% of users wont ever use these features and is not a major selling point for the device to the masses.
Dont kid yourself on this fake "value" as you call it when your Samsung device depreciates faster then a new car driving off a lot and is 50% of its worth less then 3 months down the road.
Let alone their lackluster service, their phones barely make it 2 OS updates, and their ridiculous updates controlled by major carriers.
Dont take it so personal, they are just phones.

Just one more reason to be cautious when reading/watching reviews of units with pre-retail software. That is one huge update.

One thing that helps personally is trade in value in Samsung direct and preorder gifts. Those two items are out of this world. Imagine if Apple gave you $150 credit on their site.
I was thinking about it earlier, but it was well documented that I had trouble selling my S10+ earlier, but I ended up getting something like $650 of I remember correctly, but also sold my Galaxy Buds which I got for free. I also got a credit because I had issues with my shipping email, which they were really willing to give out. With that I got a portable wireless charger for free, normally worth $75 and I still use that daily.
The trick with Samsung devices is to use it for a while year and then trade it in on Samsung. Saves time trying to sell it and you get a new device without dishing out crapload of money.
Totally separate S-Pen “note”. It’s not something I would use often, but there have been several occasions where I’ve needed to sign and return a PDF when traveling for work. It would come in handy there. Not sure what kind of dollar figure you can slap on that for value but it is a nice addition.
This article says the 45W charger will charge the note 10+ from 0 to 100% in just over an hour. That’s insane.

What's cool about that is that most of us don't let our phones go below 20% consistently. I usually charge mine back up on weekends when it gets to about 60%, so that will take probably a half hour to top back up to 100%. Great stuff.
I actually think it'll be faster than an hour. I'm thinking about 40-45min at the most. I only say this because there are a few videos on YouTube showing the Note 10+ fully charged in 1hr5min at the most, with the stock 25W charger.

I will check the status tomorrow but I’m starting to feel cursed where Samsung is concerned and getting my orders on time. It’s depressing. Well in a first world problems sort of way. Maybe “vexing” and “infuriating” are better terms.

I’d hold on because their estimated deliveries always vary. I went ahead and preordered finally and I have a shipment delivery estimate if 9/10. Haha. But that will at least give me time to change my mind.
