Nice setup! Do you mind sharing the first one? Thanks!

Interesting re the camera. I still prefer the Pixel. I don't think I will ever use a better portrait camera than what is on the Pixel.

Just FYI I got g cam working, by just installing the s10 version.

Selfie, wide, and regular cameras all work.

Much better for challenging lighting, and taking pictures of human subjects. I actually prefer s cam for landscapes, and we'll lit photos because g cam can sometimes bump the contrast too high.
Which version and xml file? Mind sharing the link?

Tomorrow such a big day. First day of school. And my Note 10+ is on its way!!! The super rugged Samsung case is also supposed to arrive separately as well. LED wallet case will be in with the phone.

I just hope I’m home to sign for it. My husband doesn’t want me signing a release for it. He says we can pick it up at FedEx if we miss it. I’m not currently able to change the delivery options, unfortunately.

I’ll try to report in with my observations. But if I suddenly drop off from the board and go radio silence, well there are some unfortunate things rapidly escalating with my mom’s physical and mental health. She’s the polar opposite of me so it’s uh interesting trying to help her. Oh boy.

Cheers, I'll give it a go too.
Camera has been taking great shots already.
For the most part I'm very happy with the stock camera. I will opt for it the majority of the time.

However when you're indoors or taking a picture at night the processing of Google camera is much better.

I was trying to take a picture of my friends kitten the other night he was asleep totally stationary, and well-lit, but the Samsung camera was not able to take picture clearly it looks like a painting.

This is the best of 15 different shots I took.

My girlfriend has the pixel 3 and nailed a picture perfectly on the first shot

Here we go again with sticker prices and not factoring real ownership cost

Most get amazing trade-ins and bundles when buying their new Samsung or wait a few months and get a substantial discount.

Apart from UK that seemed to lucked out this year most are getting anywhere from $175 to over $500 of freebies to keep or sell on or gift as you please

When you factor all these in and like for like on service costs, ram, accessories etc etc the less deprecation on an IPhone which is noticeably better in the US, is soon diminished

If you also factor in those that upgrade regularly they can be even better off as effectively they also get a new warranty oppose to AC price which also would be needed to be factored in

This is also ignoring the fun of owning a new and current device
Even though we had no trade in deals or free gifts this year the pricing is still better than the iPhone in the UK. The base note 10+ is still £100 cheaper than the Xs max and you get 256GB storage vs only 64GB with the Xs max.

Call me strange, but I prefer the fingerprint scanner on the Note 9, I could have the phone unlocked before I even looked at it, as it left my pocket.
Not this one, I'll give it time but so far it's no contest, the Note 9 was open every time.

That doesn’t look right at all, there’s literally no detail.

Picked up a case from the Samsung store today.

It adds very little bulk, and therefore probably little protection :p, but I like the look and feel of it and the phone is much less slippy now.

Whilst I was there I tested the camera out some more and took some quick snaps.
Once again, camera has been great and really reliable.
I do still prefer the Pixel overall, but the Note 10's camera has surprised me at how much I like using it and the consistently good output.

I basically just bought a phone case and food...

Battery life very solid for me - I got around 6 hours SoT yesterday before I needed the charger, which is great and much better than what I experienced with the Pixel 3.

I am in a bit of a predicament currently, as I am liking this phone way way more than I thought I ever would.
Maybe because my expectations were so low it has surprised me?

But it's truly great. I actually am starting to like One UI the more that I use it. The fact that the phone is blazing fast in everything that you throw at it also helps.

The fingerprint scanner has not misfired on me yet, which is a huge plus over the S10 which I used where the FPS was pretty trash.

For me, the Pixel is such a nice phone to use because it does everything well (minus battery life).
It's clean software and fantastic camera coupled with the above average haptics just make it a nice experience.

But this is what the Note 10 is also bringing to the table now. Comparable haptics, a camera I can rely on and actually like using, and fairly clean software if you choose to lay it out as such. It can lean the other way where it is too much to cope with (add Good Lock in etc) and then you almost have too many options.
But using it for what it is and the small things over stock begin to be beneficial.

The S-Pen is just an added bonus. It isn't something I'd say is a necessity, but it's too early to decide that anyway. One thing it definitely is, is handy, and I can see it having benefits for quick notes when no pen / paper is to hand.

Overall, I couldn't really be happier with this phone. The screen continues to dazzle and the overall usability is just a pleasure and it's left me in a right old predicament!

Yep think I noted that before the 9 series FPS was the fastest draw in the west :)

Awesome! Now I’m really pumped for September 10th (my supposed delivery date). Cool to hear that you’re now the 2nd person who is seeing the camera quality gap between the Note 10 and Pixel close a bit.

I was just about to go through my settings etc as I had been fiddling with some old apps earlier and thought they were being a drag on my battery, being about 10% down on my usual 10pm S10+ consumption

I soon realised once I went to battery settings the dam thing had been on nearly 30 hours as I forgot to charge it this morning :D

Yeah it's definitely closing. I do still prefer the Pixel camera as it just never takes a bad photo. Or in my experience it hasn't anyway.

But all the little Samsung niggles that I've previously been unimpressed with just don't seem to be there. I also find this screen to be the most immersive that I've ever used. Moreso than the S series.

I gave in (again) after reading comments here and playing with the two Note 10s at an EE Store.

Have to say the smaller one is definitely for me.. especially after reading all those glowing battery life reviews!

Question for you Anares.. did your Note 10 include the basic clear case in the box as we usually get nothing in the UK.

Good choice! ;)

And nope - no case. Typical for the UK really!
