And Apple has made a product that the educated user AND the educated user both seem to like equally well. ;)

One of those was supposed to be non educated right?

While I don't think Apple has done much to educate their consumers (look at the direction they supply or lack there of). But I agree an educated consumer can enjoy an iPhone for many reasons. Speed and simplicity come to mind.

LOL, one of the comments a poster wrote was:

The only thing that bothers me about this ad (as great as it may appear), is that it is a reactive marketing scheme, rather than a passive marketing plan. They are just trying to show how much better their device is than the iPhone, which while it may work, is flawed. There is a reason why people continue to buy the iPhone, regardless its flaws. It's because Apple doesn't get caught up in the antics of 'what does it better,' and rather teaches you how it can make life easier in Apple ads

I guess he forgot about the " i am a PC and i am Mac" commercials.

Well.... Lets all sell our iphones and buy a Samsung Galaxy Note.

I did just that...actually I bought the Note and was planning on trying it out for 30 days before selling my Iphone4, but after 1 week with the Note, I can't go back to the Iphone. I love my Imac, Ipad, and other Apple gadgets, but the Note suits my needs more than my Iphone4. As much as I like Ios, Android allows me to customize my phone very easily.

I was one of those people. Not anymore

I seriously...etc

Seriously though, I tried it out, and it was ok.
Surprised it didn't come out with ICS out of the box.

That Note is just too damn big. A guy at work bought one and i just cant see carrying that thing around. I dont wear a sports jacket or suit to just stick it in my pocket like that. Has to be in my pants pocket or a holster on my belt. Can you imagine that thing in a holster on your belt horrizontally? Holy crap!!

The Note is too big. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy SkyRocket HD would be my choice but the one thing stopping me is the Qualcomm processor. 4.65" is sweet!!! I really hope the next iPhone is 4.3".

I would need to try the Note for a while to give an honest opinion.

One thing I can say, its about the stylus. I'm not that convince about it. Dont like stylus in phones. Its kind of old tech.

Try it out for a week and let us know what you think. If you go to some of the Android forums and see the comments from ex iPhone users you would be surprised.
And there's nothing old tech about the digitizer pen. I used a stylus many years ago and the technology is totally different today.iPhone 5 had better be a great improvement over 4 or else apple is going to lose some customers. The only reason I switched is because of the large screen but now I realize there is so much more you
can do with Android than I knew about

And what about the battery?... One of the complaints about the Android phones is the battey. The Note has a huge screen and this means more power.

It's actually not nearly as bad as you may think. It fits in a normal sized jean pocket just fine, and the hip holsters don't really feel any different than any other hip holster I've used.

I am convinced that the S-Pen will prove not very useful for the average person. It's something you have to make yourself use, otherwise you'll never pull it out. Unless you work in a field where you can make use of it, then you most likely won't use it.

Yeah the S-Pen has a couple features (that most people will never use), but in the end it pretty much operates very similarly to the old styli. Most people will not find it useful. I've use the Galaxy Note for a week, and unless I make it a point to use the S-Pen, I don't use it. In everyday normal life, there just isn't much reason for it.

It also has a huge battery (2200mAh off the top of my head). The battery life on it is just fine.

I get about the same battery life as my iPhone. Note is big but it has a huge battery
I also have a spare battery I bought for 29 bucks changing batteries is very simple.

There is nothing wrong with a stylus. Everyone just hates it or wants to hate it because Steve Jobs didn't like it. A device that comes with a stylus is not a failure as he indicated. Most people think that with the Note, one has to use the stylus. Its there only for luxury. You don't need it to operate the phone. The battery is also much larger than your average Android and with a little tinkering, one could get possibly excellent battery life out of this.

Its there for those that need it such as a student in a class copying down a math formula, or someone wanting to make notes on a map and email it to someone, or someone wanting to send a handwritten card via email. There are many uses for it, and I'm sure over time as more apps come out for it, we will see the benefits. With that said, I barely use my stylus, but my kids use it for mainly drawing apps and things of that nature.
As great as Steve Jobs was, he didn't know everything. He sometimes came out and made these statements such as about a stylus being a fail, and the perfect size phone screen being 3.5". I guess thats what he thought, but many think differently. There are plenty of companies out there with teams of design engineers who's job is to think of the next great thing we "need"

I'm certain the future iPads will allow the use of a stylus with better results. Currently their touch screens, but will only from a blunt device with a wider tip. Not good for writing.
Things change.
In fact....I'd be willing to bet that when Apple does release a phone or iPad that comes with a stylus, that Apple will declare it a " magical " new technology!
Many on this forum will cheer about it, and forget the fact that Apple did not invent it.

Fits in my front and back pocket just fine. As far as a holster goes.....yuck. Reminds me of the old pocket protectors days.

Started a poll in another thread. Go see it. Just curious as to the results.

Didn't say anything is wrong with having a stylus. What I said was it isn't very useful, which it is not. I'm not saying anything because of Steve Jobs, I'm saying it because I have the device, and I am telling you first hand that it isn't very useful. It may come in handy for people in a field that could utilize it, but for the average person, it won't get much use. In a week, I've only used it on the first day, and that was because I forced myself to use it, just to get a feel for it. It isn't convenient, and it really doesn't add much to the experience. You're only going to draw on the screen but so much, and I don't need the stylus just to bring up the menu, go back, go to home screen, etc. In the end it's just a fancy stylus that isn't very practical for the vast majority of people.

note review

So I have had all the iPhones, love em to death!!! However, my iPad and waiting for iPad3 have made me wanna try something different. I picked up the Note last night have had it for a day now and honestly I like it a lot. My only gripe, no not the size! But its a droid! Never used one so the learning curve is a little ruff but I am getting the hang on it. Plus having to buy memory sucked and now as we speak I am trying to put music and movies from iTunes on it. Overall the size is great for me. I am 6'3" and have larger hands. The phone doesn't feel cheap like many say, but I put a nicer back on it and it feels and holds well.

I was comparing videos from HBO GO and youtube and the one downside is the how big the screen is, it feels the note isn't as clear, not by much just a little. The camera, my biggest thing, cause well I use it everywhere works great! Not like other droids with lag in shutter!! Colors have come out great when I took side by side shots of my main coon cat and u can see her colors more in the note. Not sure if I will stay with it, but its fun for sure!! The stylus, yes its a stylus lol its a gimmick sorta like siri and i will never use it so i don't care. Howwever the GPS is great!!! Why can't apple do this :( plus the screen is just as solid as the iPhone
comparing many websites, both phones do an excellent job, the note seemed faster when i slid my finger through the sites, but speeds where about the size, note for now had a slight edge. However both phones r great, as long as samsung stops with the crap ads I will be happier!!!
Any questions feel free to ask or message me!
