amazing checking out the youtube note vs 4s reviews...so much bigger.

It's pretty radical when you look at them side by side. Have to keep in mind that you are comparing the largest smartphone on the market to (I believe) the smallest.

Go to ATT and play with one for 15 minutes. It will surprise you. You may even begin to wonder whether you would make the change to the dark side!

I love competition. It is why we have so many great devices today.

We had flip phones for years with nothing new. Almost doesn't seem that long ago. My old Motorols V60 flipper. :D

I still remember the day Apple announced the Iphone...and how they had to square away with Cisco, who already had the name "Iphone" .

I have a Note....picked it up during lunch today. The size is not the problem for me....it's the OS. After using iOS for 2 years now it's hard to get accustomed to the quirkiness of Android. I had to talk myself out of taking it back tonight.

I think there is some usefulness to the size though. One handed operation is somewhat awkward, but I'm sure it wouldn't take long to get used to. I still think 4.3" - 4.7" is the sweet spot zone, but I don't think 5.3" is really all of that ridiculous.

Well if you decide the size is an issue, PM me and I'll trade you my Skyrocket and a few bucks extra for it.
Same specs internally as the Note minus the S pen and having a 4.5" screen.

I still have another week to return my Skyrocket and get the Note.
Just don't want to have to deal with the resetting my accounts upgrade status.

As for Android, I was like you at first, but give it a real shot.
After a couple of weeks using it I was sold.

Nah....if I decide against it I will just take it back and get the upgrade restored.

I'm going to try and give it a go for sure. Somewhat tough trying to integrate an Android phone with how deep in the Apple ecosystem most of my other devices are (MBP, Mac Mini, 2x ATV2, iPad, media running through iTunes, etc), but I'm working on figuring out some alternatives. The bloatware is also something that I had completely forgotten about after my time with iPhones.

That said....until I got this phone I always thought the tagline "it just works" was kinda stupid. I don't anymore.

It does take a bit of changing, but the transition is not as hard as you think.
My iTunes library on my iMac is all DRM free, so it's a simple matter of drag and drop with my music.
I use doubletwist player on my phone, but there is no need for anything on my Mac.

Oh and the AT&T bloatware is minimal compared to most and easy to uninstall.
The folks over at XDA can show you how to remove it.

Who wants to carry around a pen? wtf?

Yay for going BACKWARDS with technology.

Let's move away from touching the screen and bring back a freaking stylus! THAT'LL SELL US BILLIONS BOB! THAT'S GENIUS!

If it has a stylus, it has failed.

I'm pretty sure he didn't use a stylus either. ;)

Oh man, iPad 3 with a pressure sensitive stylus... there are going to be a lot of people on the forum back-tracking, and making excuses for their previous statements.

It should be interesting to watch them squirm uncomfortably trying to rationalize this turn of events.

Fellows, consider your credibility completely shot

Apple didn't create that stylus, it's a 3rd party accessory. Good job making a fool of yourself though.

The Galaxy Note comes with a stylus BUILT INTO the device as PART OF THE DEVICE itself (all though optional to use) which is going backwards.

No one you quoted will backtrack, though you should. Thanks for the good laugh I got from your post though. Do some research next time.

Right. I'm sure that Apple had no idea that this company was making a stylus for their iPad 3 and I'm sure that the company didn't get licensing or any technical documents from Apple on how to make their stylus compatible with an as-of-yet *unreleased* piece of hardware.

Get real  . One of us doesn't have any idea about what they're talking about (hint: its not me)

Your first point: Nope.
Your second point: Nope.
Your third point (in bold): :D

You basically proved me right with your own words. Time to "get real".

Where in the video, or on the page does it say "DIS PRODUCTZ IS ENDORZD BY APPLEZ!" ?

Also when you're done being wrong, feel free to write me an apology thread like you did here:

Going backwards??? You have no clue. That is obvious. Although the wacom digitizer isn't used for everyday operation, and is not at all necessary to use the note, there are apps and games made for it, and there are times when it comes in very handy.
It's a shame so many here will condemn something without first trying it out or learning a bit more about it.

And for the record, I have tried a Note. I tested it as my daily driver for about a week. There was nothing special about the stylus, nor was there any real need for it other then doodling in S Memo.

I'd like to see you write an entire 4 page long essay with your S Pen only on the Galaxy Note.

Errr its bigger and on android......nuff said.

Exactly. The two killer reasons to buy the Galaxy Note and leave the iPhone where it belongs. The third reason would be the pen, which is great for taking notes. Hence the name of this Galaxy phone.

You obviously failed to understand the purpose of the pen and digitizer.
Your brain went straight into "this is a stylus".

I played with one for a few minutes this weekend at an AT&T store. A little too big for my tastes, but I can see why someone would want it. I think the optimum range for a smart phone will eventually settle in the 4 inch to 4.5 inch range. I expect Apple to move there at some point, perhaps this fall.

Why would anyone want to write a 4 page essay with the pen on the note? Obviously we all know that the pen is not for that purpose. How about copying down a quick note, or picture, or diagram, or math problem, or drawing a quick picture or map? That's what it's for.

Since you never previously indicated that you actually used a Note, I think what you say is Bunk!

You don't write 4 page essays on a note pad? Thought that was standard college format.

something tells me you've never been to college. The prof/TA would laugh at you if you tried to hand in a handwritten essay.

Instead of you people ripping over technology, why not embrace it? Can't you just have a love for the different gadgets out there? I love Apple products, but it doesn't stop me from thinking how cool the Galaxy Note is.

Grow up. This whole battle about software and hardware is like kids who fight over who's toy is better than the other. If you have fun and enjoy what you have, isn't that what matters?
