So you really think Samsung will release an updated Note without renaming it as Galaxy Note 2 Turbo Maxx 3D IMAX V2????

Trust me, whenever they update to ICS, they will rename it and sell it as the Galaxy Note 2 Turbo Maxx 3D IMAX V2 Limited Edition.

Apple would put Siri on is and call it the Galaxy Note s

And what will Apple call the next iPhone, which is really going to be the 7th new iPhone? How bout the iPhone 5. That makes sense. Or maybe the iPhone 7-2, since the S versions don't count.

WHy do you care what Samsung will call the future Galaxy Note? It could be the greatest phone in the world and you would still criticize it, without ever actually using or trying one out.

Talk about being objective.

They will be updating the CURRENT note with ICS. Just like when the wifi Xoom got ICS it didn't make it a Xoom 2 or 3. Or when the year and a half old Nexus S got ICS it wasn't called the Galaxy Nexus. Or when the iPhone 4 got iOS 5 it didn't make it a 4s or 5.

In march the note and s2 will get a software update for current owners to ICS. Your article says this fairly clearly.

What you are saying has already been done with other devices and their has yet to be a name change just for a ota software update.

Waiting for this phone to be released on Verizon as the Samsung Journal.

My upgrade date is on Nov, and if iPhone5, doesn't impress me, than I'm going with this (or with whatever that's the next best thing by then).

Also hoping for Galaxy S3 to be on Verizon too!

Razr Maxx is pretty sick.

I considered getting this phone, but I'm going to pass on it. I think I'm going to stick with my MBP+4S+ iPad3(soon). It just all fits together.

Great device, though!

I'll admit this as well, I tried it out just to see what it was like. I loved the device itself but the software was.. yuck. TouchWiz and it's trademark lag on a device with that high of specs? No thanks.

Loved doodling on it with the S Pen but meh, overall I only really loved the screen size. Which was awesome btw.

I'm going to wait to see what happens at Mobile World Congress and if nothing really good is released we may pick up a Galaxy Note next. Especially so if it gets full CyanogenMod 9 support.

After using the Galaxy S II and my Titan, I really do prefer these large screens.

My Note is due in today. I'm less than excited. Not a good sign. The thing I worry about is the device not "fitting" in with my iMac, iPad, Apple tv2 and Macbook Pro as well as Ip4. Apple sure does make it hard to change from an iPhone. I realized though that the primary use for my phone is calling, texting, and browsing as well as watching my Etrade account portfolio when I'm away from my desk. Android has the apps I need. I don't use airplay, so thats not an issue. I'm sitting here with my IP4 and wondering how I am going to part with it. I'll give the note 30 days before making a final decision, and if I keep it, the IP4 goes on Ebay. If not, I'll get my upgrade re-established and will wait for IP5 this Fall.

I can honestly say that I was much more excited when I was waiting for my IP4 to arrive. Time will tell.

if you didn't like touchwiz, why did you not use something else?

I had the Skyrocket and just went to the 4S. Battery life on the Skyrocket blew. Turn on and use LTE and it was so bad a car charger couldn't keep up with Navigation on. Having a 2500mah won't necessarily fix it as the display size usually is the biggest impact.

Now I do have a Mophie Juice Plus on my phone and will kill that battery in a day and start in on the 4S battery. Hopefully Apple does increase the screen on iPhone 5, and this won't mean much. Hell the Droid Razr Maxx just came out with a 3200mah battery on a 4.3" screen.

If your car charger couldn't keep up with charging your phone while using it it was either 2 things things. The charger was bad or something was wrong with the phone. I have never had that problem with my skyrocket

Then why the heck did you get one? Do you always buy things you really don't care to have? Quite obvious the scene you're setting up. Stay within your iWorld and you won't have to make up any stories.

This.
My Skyrocket lasts all day on a single charge with normal use.

His phone is either defective or the charger is defective.

Must be device specific as my i777 GS2 on touchwhiz has no lag at all, though I'm running Go Launcher EX now (awesome for being free and scrolling dock is sweet). Every bit as smooth as our 4S. Though the best thing is general is rooting and installing custom rom with no bloatware etc, but not sure what's available for the Note.

You don't need dev access or anything, all you do is install a different launcher (paid and free ones) if you don't like Touchwhiz. Go Launcher EX and all its settings and customizations is awesome, and it's free (some themes are free some are paid).

If I get ANY other phone than an iPhone... the Galaxy Note is what I am getting.

I am still blown away by the fact that right out of the box you can simply plug in a USB mouse (no software needed!) and a wireless Bluetooth keyboard to have a full laptop experience

Doesn't hurt either the fact that it has a 2500mAh (!!!) battery that is user replaceable or the future proof ability of already having LTE when ATT finally rolls it out.

Amazon Wireless routinely cut Android phone prices HARD (see the ATT Skyrocket was free on contract less than a month after release w/ the regular retail price being $249). So as soon as they do they same with the Note I am pouncing on it :D

Just saw this video and I was blown away!

Saw this mentioned so I figured I'd chime in. I've read of several Android phones that oem car charger can not keep up with the battery usage. People notice it when using the gps mostly. I personally never had that problem.

It's something I could see becoming an issue though. If you have a device with a lot of power consumption so you put a large battery in it that might get you through a day or even longer. But it will take longer to charge especially if you don't modify the phone and charger to accept a charge faster.

I've always been impressed with how fast my iPhone can charge. I'm equally impressed with how faster my Xoom can charge vs how long it takes to use the battery but that doesn't charge via USB so I'd expect better.

Never had that problem either, on the i777 GS2 on a trip, using GPS the whole time, streaming pandora, and checking facebook and emails here and there... stayed at 100% the whole time. Now a buddies Evo a few years ago, could drain the batt on GPS when plugged into car charger, but don't see that happening now with the new phones.

Got the Galaxy Note

Ok..so I received my Galaxy Note and here is a brief review comparing it to my iPhone 4.

Feel...It feels like a premium product. Nice and solid. Surprised me actually

Size...not too big for my hands. I'm 6'5" and the phone feels like it was made for me. Doesn't look strange making calls from it( at least to me it doesn't)

Pocketability.... not an issue. Fits easily

Screen..nothing to say but awesome..

User interface sure is different. it does lag and studders when going between home screens and scrolling on browser pages.

Bloatware...more than you can imagine. Too may stupid ATT and Samsung apps

Navigation...voice turn by turn is awesome.

Browser...very nice but Safari is smoother

Phone..call quality very good. On par with my iPhone

S-pen....It's there but I probably won't use it

Speaker.. sounds good but it is on back of phone and when you set the phone flat on table it sounds lousy. Good volume though.

Apps on Android...We all know there are not as many

Video quality...Netflix looks great. Hulu + does not work. Says not supported on this device. Youtube looks very nice

Camera...takes nice pictures. Looks about the same as my Iphone4 pics.

Am I keeping phone.....The jury is still out. The phone looks awesome, but the lack of smoothness has me wondering. Everything I heard sid that Ice Cream Sandwich is much smoother, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Had I not had an iPhone first, I would think the Note is spectacular, but I m spoiled with the smoothness of the iPhone. I'm just tired of squinting!!

jeez...ummm the screen swapping, the UI all of it really.

I also stopped at about 4 mins because it was too hard to watch. That may have been because of the way it was filmed to be fair.

I am going to point out that in the video the user clearly is using a custom launcher and tons of custom 3rd party apps. None of that stuff was stock to the phone at all so judging it based on that and calling it a mess is not fair in general as that was all pure customization in what he was using.

The contact app is not stock android or touchwiz. It is a 3rd party one you can download from the market. Just search for Windows Phone 7 contact and you will find it.

Basicly that video is not a good one to judge the UI on at all since it clearly is a 3rd party launcher. It is not Launcher Pro, ADW or Go Launcher (big 3 of the 3rd party ones). I have never seen it before.
