Early reports suggest exynos battery life isn’t great. This was my only concern pre ordering which is the battery life and exynos being worse than SD

Come 2021 this won’t be an issue as exynos 1000 is said to rival apple’s chip and will be better than the next snapdragon chip
It's disheartening that Samsung keeps the same Exynos 990 for the Note 20, yet charges the same premium as the SD865+ version. They didn't even want their own Exynos in S Korea.

It's funny and sad at the same time.

My only guess is they were looking to add exynos 992 but knew it wouldn’t be ready in time so their thinking is we may as well just wait for the 1000

Wow that’s good. Is that with the Samsung equivalent of AppleCare+ or standard warranty?
Issue for me is I have an Apple store 15 mins away and another 2 1hr away so can drop in for any issues. They usually, in my experience, can sort a replacement or repair that same day. Samsung don’t really have the same shop level service nearby.
Standard with Fold/Flip/Note here just Fold and Flip most other places eg US

Whilst stores can be convenient really most devices should not go wrong and bending decisions on that can be a bit counter productive at times :)

How many devices other than say a car that needs servicing do we buy because OEM is nearby its a bit odd to me :)

Is not the US version the neutered 128GB no dual Sim and bootloader locked ? at least the Korean base version comes with 256GB

Maybe the telco,s are having a say in this don't want you having options in the US

Think I'd rather the extra storage than you can open your mail milliseconds faster and outdide the US Dual sim is much more important

If the Exynos next year is better than the SD like some are expecting, I hope they voice their opinions about price as much as they have this year on here.

People love to complain. They're are some who love to exaggerate or just come into the alternate section to say the same thing year after year about a new Samsung device. It is what it is.

I've seen so much about the Note 20 & Exynos being dreadful/awful/crap etc online this past week. Despite it not even being out & used by consumers....

I can’t stand my s20ultra camera if you take a pic of a sky then sure it’s great or landscape. But how many of them do you take......

as mentioned above for people pets and moving shots it sucks. Let’s hope it’s fixed. I fell into Samsung’s marketing big time with that s20ultra lol 108 megapixel and all that bells n whistles. When it’s all useless.
I know my husband and I would have loved it for vacation photos. Most of those are outdoor scenes. But Covid...so we have pretty much been using iPhones for photos. My 11 Pro rarely misses a shot. My s20 is an exercise in frustration. But I use it for actual calls and for movie and video watching and reading e books. It also sometimes renders web pages a little nicer than iPhones do. I’m waiting to see how this Fortnite situation shakes out. I don’t play but the kids do. I said I was willing to wipe my phone and set it up for them to play Fortnite on it but right now they’re into Minecraft and Animal Crossing anyway. We have consoles but nobody wants to play them for some reason. I guess nobody likes the basement. It’s not remodeled yet and is kind of creepy.

All taken with the note 10+. I used some the Lighting effects from the stock app.
Oh my goodness your babies have grow so much since I last saw pictures. They’re adorable.

I am ashamed to say I did not use my Note 10+ nearly enough. Going from S to Note to S so fast as I’ve done has really been wasteful. Well I don’t regret getting rid of my flamingo pink S10+. It was so frustrating to not have a properly working proximity sensor. I do like my S20+ display a lot. The pixel density is amazing. It’s also the optimal size and weight to carry. So I am actually fine sitting out the Note 20. I am not sure I will go back to Notes.

I’m not even sure I will go for the s21. They really have to get rid of the in display fingerprint sensor before I would even consider it. I don’t mind a new one that works. But if they stick with the same sensor next year, forget about it. I’d really rather have a notch and Face ID than deal with this mess again.

Rumours say it will be the new sonic max fingerprint sensor for the S21

But the complaints are valid. There are actually hard data in benchmarks and tests showing the inferior performance of the Exynos 990. Some benches even showed the 990 is not any faster than even SD845/855, let alone SD865+.

It's one thing if Samsung delegates the Exynos version into a lower tier price point, like for a Note 20 Lite. But they are charging consumers the same premium as the SD865+ version. Worse, even S Korean version use the Snapdragon model. That shows how "confident" Samsung is on their own chip that they don't even want to use it domestically.

#1 Congrats
#2 You owe us explanation why change your mind
Haha. Sure, couple of reasons.
1. Low latency of s-pen combined with 120hz screen.
2. How bad the regular Note 20 is (IMO it's a rip-off)
3. Was able to get the 512gb model for $729 after trade in/discounts, plus another $200 in store credits.
4. Will be trading in my S20 and keeping my Note 10, so if I get tired of the large form factor I can always go back to it.

Ultimately, the Note 20 Ultra is the Note I expected, and other than the size and curved display, has everything I would want in a Note update. The big disappoint was the regular Note 20, it's not really smaller, has only 128gb non expandable storage, plastic back, higher latency spen, 60hz display with gorilla glass 5, and still priced at $1,000.

It's a shame, absolutely love my Note 10 and all I wanted in the regular Note 20 was to keep the same 6.4" display, but at 120hz and flat, plus the regular internal updates. Sucks that the early rumors were wrong.

It's why I didnt pre order right away, and was ready to sit out this cycle and keep using my Note 10. But then I started noticing the latency on my spen more and more (funny how that works) and my S20 was collecting dust so I figured to make use of it and get the trade in credit.

Looking forward to the Ultra though, haven't had a large phone as my daily in a couple of years.

But they are not charging them for the extra storage or dual sim others get in the Exynos version that is not in the US

Similarly Korean and typically US versions are more locked or at least bootloader locked than other countries

The marginal speed advantages under certain conditions equally fade if your pulling data of your SD card vs native storage on the higher spec'd 256GB Exynos

This is all hot air as even the open petition only got 40k signatures LOL

PS Just checked the Ultra in the US is $1299 plus say 7% tax = $1389.93 here in KL $1239.87 inc tax why is it so expensive in US with less storage no dual sim and all you get is a SD processor for $150 more

Oh those benchmarks are pure rubbish. If you have a Exynos phone and use it.......you will not notice a difference. The only way you will know there is a difference between the Exynos 990 and SD865+ is if you read it somewhere.

I pre-ordered the Ultra as well. I would have gotten the regular Note 20 if it wasn't so gimped compared to the Ultra. I had the S20 Ultra and it did seem kinda top heavy to me.
My biggest concern is the camera...first blurry photo and the Note 20 Ultra will magically turn into the Fold 2 or Surface Duo.

Really intrigued by the Fold series, but the durability still isn't there for me, I live by the beach and work in a lot of areas full of dust and grit, plus they haven't really had any sales or tradein deals for the Fold. But this Note 20 might be my last Note depending on how the Fold 3 turns out, don't see the point in carrying a big phone when you can get something like the Fold with an even larger screen but smaller footprint.
