Books I am not too sure about. I am a Kindle and borrow the ebooks through the Library via Libby user. I have not purchased a single one through Apple.
I had also switched from iTunes to Spotify many years ago, but this may be of use to you...

I also started using Edge browser on my iPhone even prior to the switch to Samsung, in part because it allowed me to sync between my Apple stuff and my PC, so that wasn't a hard switch for me either. There are a lot of good browser alternatives out there if you don't like Chrome or Edge including Vivaldi and Brave. Everything but Safari for Android. But the good thing is you can set your browser of choice to be the default browser where with the iPhone the default is always Safari, whether you like it or not.
Yeah, as I said, these are the little things that come with the change of the entire ecosystem, but they can be more-less easily solved.
As I prefer to own my books and music instead of subscribing, I will just have to change the places where I acquire them. Apple Books and iTunes on the iOS devices were just too convenient to bother with other sellers.
It's not that difficult to switch from iPhone to Android. I have done it before. Some people make it seem like it's so difficult which is why they don't switch. There are plenty of YouTube videos that will show you how.
I have a lot of Apple products too, but I don't want to be stuck so I don't use iBooks. I have a kindle to read books. And I don't use AppleMusic. I use Spotify. I try to use services that are available on multiple platforms so I'm not stuck in one.
If I were to switch it really wouldn't be too difficult. I may lose a couple apps and have to find replacements. But it's not as difficult as some people make it out to be.
Definitely, I almost made my mind that if the new iPhones turn out to be a very dull update, I will switch. It will take a bit to move everything the way I want, but I assume it will also be worth it.
I’ve had my Note 20 Ultra for a couple of weeks now and I’m still using my iPhone. The Ultra is set up and customised but what is stopping me from putting my SIM card in full time is my WhatsApp history. I’ve been looking at ways to switch my my WhatsApp history and I’m just not keen on these third party apps as they have been known to harvest your data. I have really important threads that I need to transfer and have them continue but I have no way of swapping.
Any ideas?
So backing up whatsapp and then downloading the history does not work when changing from iOS to Android as it does when you get a new iPhone? This sucks a bit...
