The average consumer not knowing what 120hz is is an excuse. Doesn't matter. The point is Apple is charging premium pricing for a miniscule update on their devices.

Exactly. And don’t get me wrong, the 11 Pro Max is one of the best phones I’ve ever owned, but I do like upgrading every year and unless there’s something really great in addition to the design change and 5G, I might actually consider staying put for a year.

I'm keeping my 11 pro, but I also have a note 20 ultra.

Not offering a 90/120Hz display on a $1,000+ phone in 2020 would just be a huge oversight, for folks like us who frequent a forum like this. The general consumer won't care, and will still buy it. I'm using a 60Hz display at this very moment, but I don't care because it only cause $350.
In fairness though the average customer isn't buying the pro models...

Wasn't aware with bixby routines you can set power mode to come on when your battery gets to say 40%

Certainly useful

Mmmmmm......so Best Buy has the regular Note 20 (unlocked) on sale for $750, and they are offering $650 trade in for my regular Note 10. So it would come out to $100.

The thing is, I have a Fold 2 on order and am really excited about it. I plan on using that as my main phone. The Note 10 which I'm currently using would become a backup phone. Don't know if I want to spend $100 on a phone that would mostly be sitting in a drawer, but would probably give me more as a trade in next year than the Note 10 would. Should I pick one up?
Well, went ahead and did it and got the Note 20. First impressions are it reminds me of my Note 4 with the flat display and feels wider because of it.

Battery seems like it will be very good, been installing apps and transferring my data over, still around 60%, and I didn't even fully charge it (pulled it off the charger at 93%).

Wish it had 120hz, but other than that the screen is fantastic.

For $1k, this phone was a rip-off, but for $100, this phone is incredible. Though I still feel weird buying this phone while I'm waiting on my Fold 2 which will be my daily driver. On the plus side, my wife wants to use it, so it won't be gathering dust in a drawer, so that makes me feel a little better about getting it.

Nah keeping my ipad as I still love it and I use my ipad for work

Use my apple TV alot and still use my air pods with my ipad so will still use that

Just my phone and watch really that's different. I use Google photos so I can still view pics on my ipad

Its been far easier to work both into my daily life in fairness. I use WhatsApp for messaging and hopefully when WhatsApp allows multi device support that will work on both too

Just curious how are you liking the Sʌᴍsᴜɴɢ watch compared to your  watch?

I’ve tried the S8/S10+ and the S20 Ultra and each time couldn’t last 48 hours.

There’s just little attentions to detail  puts into iOS that Sʌᴍsᴜɴɢ/Google overlook in Android.

One of my main things being text replacement for the keyboard. I have a decent size shortcut library for words and for the life of me on Android I can’t find a keyboard that does it as good or at all like iOS.

Galaxy watch is very good, wouldn't say apple watch level good but does the main stuff well like fitness, notifications and app sport scores

Only thing I miss with apple watch really is apple pay

I use SwiftKey for me is the best out there. I make too many errors on the Samsung keyboard

Don’t you use Samsung pay on your Samsung Watch?

When I had my galaxy watch I used Samsung pay. Never had any issues.

I went and used the Duo the other day at Best Buy and of course it’s default keyboard is Swift Key but still it had no way of adding a personal dictionary or text replacement option. I looked for it.

It should be in settings, unless this is something Samsung modified to be available on their version of Android.

iOS 14 widgets are really making me rethink getting a Note 20 Ultra. Stacking widgets are a game changer. I’m just in love with iOS 14—it’s near perfect for me. A bunch of my apps updated this morning with really great iOS 14 widgets. I could really never find Android widgets that I liked. Most just looked way too dated for my taste. It’s like Android developers don’t even care. And I actually don’t mind that iOS 14 aren’t interactive.

What apps have updated to support ios 14? My first impressions of it was very half baked and the fact you can't place it where you want is a downside.

Its certainly a good start but needs alot of work to get as good as android widgets

Let's not even get started on the app folder page thing they've implemented. Train wreck of a job they've done on something that had potential

Apps sorted into folders with no rhyme or reason to the groupings.

Agreed. It’s half baked and the stack feature is not great. I don’t like the way it randomly flicks between them. I don’t like that the app name shows at the bottom and I also don’t like that you can’t customise the background colours. My Step widget has this horrible red background that just distracts from the entire Home Screen - I’m still debating on whether to go all in with the Ultra or keep my Apple stuff. It’s resting on 120hz screens in the 12 really, I think.

The stacked widgets drove me nuts as I could not get the largest size on top of each other

Even on one UI the widgets aren't big enough for me... But on ios you can't resize... Nova is great for this

I wasn't even tempted by series 6 can't see being tempted by iPhone 12...60hz is a big no but even if it had it I like pop up window and real multitasking too much

Do gestures work on nova yet? Last time I tried, it was only partly working

Interestingly, I looked at some of the third party apps that were available with iOS 14 widgets when my wife updated her phone yesterday and I think the implementation is poor.
