I need to go out and do some stabilized moon shots soon when when sky clears up one night. I did a handheld a couple weeks ago and even that blew my mind.

Question for those with the Note 20 Ultra. Hope I'm allowed to post in here with me not owning the phone an all (roll eyes).

In this YT's 5 best and worst points of the Note, he mentions the camera shutter is slow to snap which can impact some photos?

it's @4:40 in his video linked below.

Just wondered if those using it had experienced that, or whether it may have just been his device, or patched in an update as this vid is almost a month old now. :)
Yeah it's not as fast as pixel and moving objects it can blurry the photo but it used to do that on my iPhone too..you can use single take and pro where its fine so if you think you are going to get a moving person or pet it's best to use that for quicker response

People have said there's no shutter lag on fold 2..but many others can confirm

Great, thanks for the responses.
I am due my yearly upgrade now and am wondering whether to give this phone a go. I had a Note 10 briefly last year and really liked it, but it never played with my car very well so I ended up returning it.

Might try this phone out as it seems to be the most complete Android out there, currently.

Yeah it's a great phone, I would say the most complete phone on the market. Camera wise Its right up at the top in terms of its got all the camera features you can ask for. Still say pixel is the best for selfies though as skin tone isn't perfect. That's just a Samsung software thing though but for most it's not an issue.

S pen is something I love to have when I need it..

I am not convinced this is real lag but more how Samsung have portrayed the simulation of how you would see this with a real SLR camera with the mirror in the prism flipping up and the shutter opening and closing

In truth you do not have to hear or see anything they just have to give the user some notification the photo has been snapped, it's likely they have done a true real to life SLR simulation that is being misread where they could of just made the screen blink as soon as you touch the button and no one would be the wiser there is not even a shutter, its just electronically turning parts of the sensor on or off for recording that is normally very fast eg 8000th's of a second

Not conclusively but I tried to take a photo of a navigation light that blinks at regular intervals, so with real lag I should click before it's due to blink but those attempts were no better than hitting the shutter on que

Would be interesting if there more factual info on this than just reviews perceptions, as I could be completely wrong LOL

Sometimes the blurry pics can be frustrating. Won't sugar coat it. There is a feature called single take though where it takes both videos and pictures within a 10 second time frame. When my kids are playing, I will actually use that mode and I get some unbelievable shots.

Camera is amazing imo. I honestly think its equally on par with Pixel and iPhone 11. All cameras will be better/worse than others in very specific scenarios but I see no reason why this isn't up there with the very best when you factor in its versatility.

100%. I took a walk today and used so many different modes. The only thing I need to figure out is how to do long exposure in pro mode. I tried it and must have been doing something wrong.

SE2 ownership didn't last long. Caved and impulse purchased when it went $200 off on Amazon. One weekend worth of use and a couple quick thoughts.

Pros:
Screen is beautiful and so fluid to scroll around apps with (120hz mode)
S-pen latency is basically like writing with a pen on paper
Camera seems great so far minus a few bugs
Samsung Pay works everywhere

Cons:
Supposedly S-pen can be used to snap photos but I have not been able to reliable use it this way
Password manager still pales in comparison to Apple
Native apps like S-pay and weather have ads... on a $1000 phone... Samsung WTF...

I bought Note 20 ultra to just over a week ago along with the Buds Live & Active 2 watch, but I'm not selling my SE2 as i think it makes for a great phone to use for work, or when i don't want to carry this massive phone around with me.

The only thing I'm selling Apple wise is my Airpods Pro's, as i think the Buds Live sound better, more discrete in the ear & i can use them on the SE2 with most of the features still intact.

On my Note 20 Ultra I'm still using Apple Music rather than Spotify.

About the ads Samsung Pay doesn't work with my Bank, I use a different weather app so no ads, also Samsung health has ads aswell which kind of pee me off, but other country have it much worst with Samsung ads showing up in the stock dialler & message app. :/

with regards Samsung pay, doesn’t work with my bank either but you can set up the curve app to use with Samsung pay and that accepts my bank and most I believe

It's surely the most complete all round camera on a phone. It does everything very well and has an excellent pro mode, which my fav smartphone camera (Pixel) desperately lacks.

I set up curve but will likely just use google pay but I’ve not needed to use contactless for months in fairness.

I’m surprised by this! Contactless is all I’ve used for a couple of months now. Most places in the U.K. don’t like taking cash (who can blame them) and I don’t like handling cash, with COVID around I stopped using cash altogether and now only use contactless.

Only because the only places I’ve gone is petrol station or hair dressers lol the wife does all the shopping so never needed to use it.

Not like go pubs anyway for drinks as now it’s all down on phone apps.

Nice, I just did this and did a refresh rate check and it definitely set it to 96Hz. Kind of funny how I can't see a difference between 96Hz and 120Hz but can definitely tell a difference going from 60Hz to 96Hz.

I was reading on Android Central forums that there wasn't really a gain on battery life so keep us updated. That would really be my only reason for doing it.

Fair play, to be fair I’ve used Apple Pay more online than in person. I work from home, but when shopping I do use contactless.
