I am not even 100% confident in the protective film they put on it. I was going to replace the S10e's with a tempered glass. I am just stating a problem people will run into. Nothing wrong with that

I have no objections to making owners or potential owners aware if they prefer an alternative to Samsungs solution its likely to cost $X more

But your deliberate negative slant to suggest it's some defect that will be fixed in 2nd gen or somehow you have been short changed is overly critical

Be pinickerty or personal preference as you like but your recent comments seem far more contrived
and exaggerated

It's reasonable to expect more screen protectors work with a 2nd gen or later. If you think it's a slant, that's fine. Let's agree to disagree on the matter and move on from it.

I can’t find the post where someone recommended Good Lock and posted a YouTube video link. Whoever it was, thanks. Some good stuff within that. I like how you can double tap the camera from the lock screen instead of swiping but I don’t like the time & date being so low. Is there something to change just the camera opening setting?

I set everything up last night, did all the updates & synced everything. Charged it up to 100% and put it in airplane mode and went to bed. 5 hours later it was on 99% and then with 19 mins screen time, was on 92%.

It's now on 54% and 3 hours 23 screen time, which is better but that initial drain seemed excessive.
Over 3 hours SOT at 50 percent battery is good and it will only get better. Enjoy!

Anyone have any issues with poor network signal / reception?

Only getting 1-2 bars and my network (O2 - UK) is saying it is most likely a device issue and to return it to Samsung for replacement.

Trying to get an idea whether it may be a faulty batch? Don't want to return for RMA unless I'm sure it's a hardware fault.

Thanks

I have the S10e, so getting a screen protector isn't an issue for me. It's a potential issue for many Samsung users. Not everyone is going to a take a chance on a Whitestone Dome's astronomical $50 USD price point or risk dealing with a hit or miss application process. The curved displays have had criticism before and it will happen again for that very concern. MKBHD did a video on glass protectors not working with the S10 series. Only one so far is Whitestone Dome.
[doublepost=1552141368][/doublepost]Has anyone had this issue: Whenever I restart my phone, it says phone starting along with showing an Android P logo.

I factory reset my phone once and the issue went away when I set the phone up as completely brand new.

When I factory reset the phone again with restoring my phone from the Samsung Cloud, the same error message appeared. What should I do to fix it?

Mine does that. Not an issue I don't think. Happens after each restart I assumed it was normal.

However I just checked my S9 on the one ui update does not do it, strange.

I guess it's a curruption when restoring my Google account, it does not have any negative side effects so far so I'm not even going to bother factory resetting it.

I double tap the power button and it opens up. You can set it to do that.

For those who took off Samsungs screen protector but still want one.

Who here has tried that? I’m worried I can’t get an environment dust free enough. We are doing some work on the house and it’s churning up some dust. It was good to see Flossy realistically battling settling particles through the whole thing and still get a good installation because I know that’s how it goes for me.

Hah, no White Shoes...yeah I could see my cat who likes to watch unboxings wreak some havoc with the curing process.

I like that they offer two to a pack for this. I don’t know that I have any level surfaces in the house. My aquarium water line indicates there’s a bit of a slant in at least one major part of the house.

In other news, my Samsung washing machine arrived and works great so far. It sings me the song of its people when it’s done. Very cute. It beats the horrible nerve jangling buzzer I had before. It is good to have a fresh supply of clean underwear again, as I might need it if I buy one of these Whitestone Dome protectors and the installation gets a bit nerve wracking!

Hope you have better luck with Samsung appliances than me. I have a Samsung fridge, washer, and dryer. All 3 have had to be worked on and one replaced. All in under 4 years of owning them.

For those who took off Samsungs screen protector but still want one. Kinda pricey but seems really good.

I wouldn't buy this unless they reverted to the older install method. They switched to cheap flimsy trays and a cheaper adhesive that exhibits spider webbing and haze after a day of use. Tried 2 for my Pixel 3XL and I no longer trust Dome Glass. For the Pixel 2 and S9 phones, this was the best brand. Not anymore.

Edit- looks like they use the old pin removal method to release the protector onto the phone. So that's good. The newer kits use a different method. Hopefully the adhesive is good here as well.

When you reboot the device do you get a notification on the lockscreen saying "unlock device to see notifications" ?

I have poor reception in my area. My S10e was having slightly worse signal than a Note 9 does. I am going to compare my S10e vs my XS Max soon.

Were you able to fix the phone loading message that pops up on restart? I've got the same problem.

Nope, sadly it didn’t work. I am going to contact Samsung soon. I might have to send over data from my iPhone again.
