Who here uses the Google Messaging app over the Samsung stock app? I was thinking about using the Google one to get the messaging from a laptop functionality to replace my iMessage feature on my MBP.

There is nothing that pisses me off more than that!

Curious, as I've pretty much made up my mind to cancel my preorder and keep the Pixel, do you have any ambition whatsoever to go back to your Pixel or did the S10 blow you away that much?
I haven't decided yet myself! I am still in the honeymoon stage with the S10+ :D

But I am looking forward to checking out the Galaxy S10 5G when it comes out. Not to get get 5G which is kinda useless until it gets rolled out more extensively. But just for the size and specs.

Love Samsung Music! Its a great free app :)
[doublepost=1552139230][/doublepost]
Is it still being setup? Has it had time to settle? Is it still updating apps from the playstore? Everyone's experiences and preferences differ on how they setup their phones.
Personally I turn off bluetooth. I set my display brightness to about 50% that is bright enough for me :)
I don't use AOD on this phone.
Then I have noticed with a new phone I am app to play around with it more than I normally would.
Go into device care...battery...then battery usage. Check what your screen time is.

If you need to turn Bluetooth off to get better battery on a 2019 phone may as well throw it in the bin.

Lol, this guy.

Moving on... just picked my XR up for the first time today since using the S10 all day - blimey.
It looks strange now in comparisson!
Colours look muted and tame but that's to be expected when staring at a Samsung display all day!

I also notice the weight a lot more now - the S10 is such a nice feel and weight that the XR feels a bit clumsy now.

Still love both devices, but it's funny how you adapt quickly to something new / different. :)

Oh my days... Preach!
So frustrating. I noticed it more on my Chromebook and now I have this S10 I have noticed it again and it is crazy annoying.

As it happens, I did sign up to YT Premium and YouTube Music last night, and it's basically bliss now, but still a bit of a joke that you have to pay to avoid it.

I was also getting two adverts before some videos before I signed up to premium!
Try YouTube Vanced .

Are you going to put the XR up for sale at some point though? I wonder if anyone else here already listed their XS or XR up for sale since the S10 has a lot of acclaim?

What navigation Gestures are you using?
I'm using gesture control along with samsungs built-in gestures. The reason I use them together is Samsungs gesture make everything full screen, while gesture control gives me a gesture bar much like webOS did back in the day (still my favorite navigation control).

So I have swipe right to go back, swipe left for last app, double tap for split screen, and swipe up for home. Unfortunately the swipe up and hold for multitasking doesnt work correctly because the swipe up from Samsung gestures over rides it and multitasking only shows up for a split second then goes home. So I just use the swipe up on the right corner for that (Samsungs gesture).

One of them will go, but it's deciding which.
The S10 has grown on me massively in the last 24 hours after my early impressions not being that good.
But with the Apple Watch and iPhone combo it makes it difficult to switch.

Working fine on mine, everything is stock except I’m using rootless pixel launcher and pixelizeD icon package from Samsung theme store.

cheers mate i sorted it i had reduce animations on which makes it not scroll continuously. turned that off back to normal and changed animations in developers options instead.

The Apple Watch is the gold standard for wearables. Sadly, Apple won't make it available to work with Android devices.

I like the S10's hardware a lot. Though, I feel like the device has some quirks that I may have to get used to. I am about to head to my carrier to address some signal issues I have because I have problems getting MMS on my phone. I think a cell spot might be needed. If not, the iPhone XS Max is here to stay for the long haul.

Thanks for the info! It's going to be interesting to see how the Android Q dark mode will look compared to One UI.

The other complaints I initially had about the Pixel have gone away for the most part.

I’m always using a case to be honest but I have a clear case at the moment and it does look nice. Hard to tell how much better it is if i did drop it though. I have bought the silicone case as well for when i go work e.t.c. I do like the look of the back though and looks good in the spigen case i’m Using now.

How’s your battery life? Too early to judge at the moment certainly with how much i’ve Used it. It’s basically died after 7 hours but i was using it non stop. 5 hours, 40 mins screen time at about 5%

That's fair enough but I feel that it's too nice to use without a case but I can't quite bring myself to go caseless yet. Which clear case do you have, any pics and can you link me?

Also, my battery so far is better than my XS Max

I'm loving Good Lock, simply incredible the amount if customisation options

I don't think the average user would notice the speed difference between either model.

Apparently the Snapdragon 855 is supposed to be better in the gpu department though.
Yeah, but it seems Samsung optimizes better for their own chipset and that's a big jump in single core which is most important in day to day tasks. Not complaining about the performance on mine, but do wish Samsung used the Exynos universally on all handsets. My Note 5 with an Exynos is still running fairly well, much better than my snapdragon S7, even though supposedly the S7 has a newer chip.

Anyone here pre-order and is getting the $130 e-certificate?

I'm just curious what everyone is using theirs on? Buds, watch, cases?

Neat speed test between the S10e and the iPhone XS.

Good viewing that, if you didn't have any Apple products or need a small second phone S10e would be the go, they know how to get the screen to body ratio right.
Looks like the S10e would be about iP8 size with 5.8" screen?

Can't imagine the Se would be similar speed wise after 1 year though.

Hope you have better luck with Samsung appliances than me. I have a Samsung fridge, washer, and dryer. All 3 have had to be worked on and one replaced. All in under 4 years of owning them.
Yikes! Well we got it way way cheaper ($600) than what we had budgeted for, so if we can get 3 to 4 years under the stress we put a washer to, that won't be half bad. We did need a huge capacity tub and were glad to find one for that price.

Unfortunately, most modern appliances don't work or last like they did before all the Eco friendly stuff ironically made toilets need extra flushes or washing machines to run two cucles to do what used to get done in one attempt.

I have an elderly dog and was washing her bedding pretty much around the clock when her food was messing up her kidneys. I switched her over immediately when we figured out what was ailing her, but still if I have to be out of the house longer than 4 hours, which is often because I also have to attend to human elders-I am on the road to go do that now- or want to sleep longer than 4 hours, I'm going to be doing laundry. Comes with the privilege of having an elderly dog. I love old animals but they generate a lot of clean up. I fully expect to kill all my laundry appliances early, sorry to say.

You sound like my wife, elderly dog, elderly parents and we have a 16 year old daughter thrown in to haha. Her mother 92 is going into a nursing home on Wednesday, her Dad 88 can't cope looking after her anymore, (dementia) she is down to 35kg and not eating.
After over 60 years together not going to be fun :(

Sorry for going OT.
