Picked up the Galaxy Buds today.... all I can say is they sound pretty damn good. Wish the music would stop when you pulled them out of your ears though.
Have you gone through the settings in the Galaxy Wear app? I'm not sure if they have a different version or name for the S10 and 2019 buds but I have the 2018 version and they auto-pause.

Just did some reading online and according to Engadget they only pause when you remove both at the same time. :(

Ha

My max is under my bed and that's where it will stay until I get it repaired and sold

I'm committed to switching away from an iPhone (well, as my primary ;)) too. Already bought a dirt cheap iPhone 7 to serve as home base for my Apple Watch. As soon as both it and my Pixelbook arrive, the iPP 12.9 and XS Max are getting listed. Not keeping either around because 1) they're both damn expensive and will more than pay for my replacement devices :p, and 2) I don't want any temptation to slide on back into old habits.

On a more thread pertinent note, I finally had my first bit of hands on time with the new S10 models yesterday and if I'm completely honest (and I know I'm in the minority), but I wasn't really blown away. Don't get me wrong, the displays are spectacular and the hole punch is better than a notch but I still don't like the overall form factor. I still really dislike the curved display with tiny side frame and the giant camera strip is just ugly. The two larger models just don't feel as pleasant in hand as my Pixel or XS Max. I realize this is just my own personal perception but their lightness is off putting and tricks my mind into perceiving them as less premium.

I liked the build style of the S10e the best and would probably change my tune if they applied the same design to the larger models. However, the S10e itself is just far too small for me.

My suggestion would be to try either to get the Pixel 4 or OnePlus 7 as your next phone. I am thinking no way Google could be hard headed enough to try the same design language 4 times in a row. I only suggest the OnePlus 7 now because it's right around the corner and will have that popup camera.

Huge to clinch the President's Trophy last night btw. I was at a couple TB Lightning games last year myself.

I’ve been battling wrist strain since around November. I think I had it before then but trying and failing to save myself from a fall down some steep stairs added to the problems I’d been having. So to me the lightness is something I’m looking forward to. I can barely hold my Xr comfortably. I’m going to get a pop socket for it. I actually have one but once I learned there’s a new kind that permits wireless charging I’ve waited to get it.

I actually at one point wanted to get the regular s10 for the lightness and better ergonomics but am hoping the s10+ will be light enough. It’s lighter than my Pixel 3XL, which is sufficiently light. I went with the larger one due to wanting at least one of my phones to have a beast of a battery.

It's only been a couple of days so far, but I can't say I'm overly impressed with the battery life of my S10+ so far. Maybe I'm just spoiled by my XR, but so far it doesn't have the great stamina that my Note 9 had. Maybe it'll just take a few more days to calibrate.

Some of these apps/services appear to using a ridiculous amount of background usage...but I have most of them set to NOT be used in the background.

Twitter is the devil. I have the web page saved to my home screen and use the web not the app. I'm finding apps are so invasive and pushy and overbearing these days. Especially the social media and news apps.

Interesting it shows zero activity though .

Oh I'm quite happy with the Pixel 3 XL for now. Battery life is good (I'm in the car a lot p lived in to use Android Auto so I never have battery issues on a regular basis regardless of the phone), and it's stayed quite snappy performance-wise. If the rumored specs and renders of the Pixel 4 XL prove true though I'll have a hard time passing on that upgrade.

And yes, super excited about the Lightning--we're huge fans but growing up in upstate NY as Buffalo Bills and Sabres fans, we're all too familiar with sports heartbreak so we are always worried, no matter how good things may look. ;)

I hope Google does well with the Pixel 4 series.

To be fair, the Sabres hit HRs in the draft lottery since they got Eichel and Dahlin. I am interested in seeing if Breisbois can get Point under a good AAV for the long-haul. If the TB Lightning make the Cup, I might go to Tampa for a game.

Just figured I’d share this video for those who may still have some trouble with the in-display FPS. My hit ratio was still around 75%, but I came across a suggestion to register TWO thumbs as ONE fingerprint. I know that sounds kind of counter intuitive, but I tried it and it actually has dramatically improved the FPS for me. Below is a video of someone setting it up this way and demonstrating it.

I just tried this and it seems to work better than the 2 prints I set up for each thumb prior. I'd have to press pretty hard and leave my thumb there for a while. So far, seems faster. Will have to test more

Anyone else have Bluetooth issues? I've got a device that the S10+ just wont connect to.

Seems like this is a widespread problem looking online.

Just tried a factory reset to see if that fixes my battery concerns. Painful, but hopefully worth it.

Let us know how you get on. My battery isn’t that great on my S10 Plus, even afternoon enabling APM and tap to view AOD.

SoT is at 3.55 and I’m on 11% with 13 hours on battery. My XS Max would be about 30% at this time.

How many days have you had the phone? I heard it can take up to a week or two for the smart battery functions to calibrate to your usage.

I did this just after you posted and haven't had one mis-fire with the FPS since!

I'm on 24% with two hours screen time at 14 hours standby but I don't feel battery is that bad just limited usage on 4G all day

Be interested how it's on WiFi tomorrow now I'm off work.

That’s how that person yesterday was able to make it look like either thumb worked despite only registering one!

I’ve just set my thumbs & index fingers twice each using this method and it so far it seems to work much better.

Oh really? That would be ace because it’s making me second guess my decision.

I got this last Friday and set it up that evening.

Has owned the S10 and exchanged it for the S10+? I'm wondering how much of a difference there is (hand wise). The carriers here have them in little metal boxes that don't allow you to pick them up and actually check out the device.

I'm quite happy with the S10, but wonder if the battery and extra screen size would be a decent tradeoff for the little bit of size increase. The weight difference is nominal and no matter what, both devices are much lighter than my xs max.

I don't think my battery was bad per se, but not really what I expected. I've only had it two days, so it could be a combination of several factors that will work themselves out over time.
