Anyone in the UK got their complementary Buds yet?

Was a bit disappointed when I realised we're just given white, would have been nice to choose the colour. But can't complain too much if they're free.

I only got around to setting up my S10 yesterday. Loving it and FPS works great for me, but I'm contemplating the same issue. Even had the little boxes problem at every carrier store I've been in. :D

I rang Samsung this morning to enquire about a potential swap. I was told they'd have to process the return then put through a new transaction for the S10 Plus. As a result I'd have to return the Buds I've already claimed as it's now outside the promotion period. Surely that's ridiculous?

This was on the phone though and I find them much more helpful in person. There is a proper Samsung store close by so I can go and talk to them. They also might actually let me handle the two outside those damn boxes and make an informed decision.
Yes I’ve seen countless people caught up on that ridiculous policy. I also contemplated it when I was thinking of returning my pink tinted S8+.

If I get a defective S 10+ and have to return it and the preorder earbuds I will write a letter to what’s his name that heads up Samsung mobile division in my country just to give him a customer perspective on how botched this is. And then I’ll do the return because I want the phone, but don’t want to get stuck living for a year with another exhibit of wonky qc.

Mine went through on the 15th (well that's when I got the text saying they have accepted it and they'll come within 30 days).

Hopefully people will get them in the next 2-3 weeks then.

Back in the day I preferred it when they just shipped it with the phone! But I guess they're hoping people choose not to redeem it / don't realise they can...

My husband’s direct from Samsung did ship with the phone and mine are supposed to ship with the phone. I have no idea when my phone will actually ship to me. It depends on how long it takes to process my husband’s trade in, which should be there by tomorrow or Friday. Sigh.

Apple's new Airpods, which only added wireless charging, are $200 now and sure make the Galaxy Buds look that much more appealing at $70 cheaper. I'm going to jump on the AT&T deal and get them for $97 today.

Sounds like you might regret not returning it and getting a S10 or S10+ instead since you prefer those larger models...?

Regarding more multitasking in iOS 13...not to be a Debbie Downer here but that's probably as likely as me sitting down next to a unicorn on the bus this morning ;) at least if we're talking iPhone. "Our customers love how easy it is to multitask on the iPhone. Just use it alongside an iPad or Apple Watch and your productivity may increase up to 200%!"

Agreed. Every year as we approach either WWDC or the iPhone launch event, it’s always ‘Maybe this year they’ll <insert desired feature here>‘ and almost invariably, it doesn’t come. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me...12 times, shame on me. ;)

I’m just assuming everything we want won’t be added so then if something does actually change, it’s a nice surprise. Don’t get too many surprises from Apple anymore.

Yep, me too I've learned to stop expecting them to give me what I want. And yes exactly, that way iOS 12 for example came as a nice surprise as I expected to want to skip it entirely but instead it turned out to really improve my 7 Plus :)

They're just so damn diligent with providing their customers with juuuust enough functionality that they'll want to keep buying. I'm confident that widgets would be 10000x better by now if they hadn't reserved all that functionality for the Apple Watch.

Just sneaking in here with a side note: the OnePlus Wireless Bullets for $130 LESS than the AirPods 2 are also very appealing. Just as good if not better in terms of listening experience than both the Buds and the AirPods. Sure they don't come with a fancy charging case and they have the battery and bluetooth radio in a sling which goes behind the neck. I've come to really prefer that though as it's actually very handy - I sling them around my neck when I leave home in the morning so I never have to dig for them in the pocket when out and about, secondly I honestly do prefer to have the bluetooth radio a little further from my brain...

When not listening they click together with a magnet which prevents them from moving too much around the neck and auto stops playing, and a 15 minute charge gives me juice for several days. Sound quality is very good and their silicone buds isolate rather well from outside sound. And they sit perfectly in the ear using a genius silicone support between the buds and the actual earphones.

Just a heads up for folks that there are very cheap and still very good alternatives around :)

Yeah I was really excited about the wireless charging/new AirPods until I saw the $200 price tag. With zero noise cancelling and average to above average sound, it kind of feels like too much to spend.

Sounds like any ole Apple product. I never saw the allure of the AirPods.

I think AirPods are terrific for what they are, but there's no way to justify the price disparity between its competing products now, like the Galaxy Buds or Jabra Elite 65t. AirPods are very convenient if you are in the Apple ecosystem, which I partially am in. But convenience shouldn't come at $40 more when literally one feature was added. Then factor in reverse wireless charging capabilities with the new Galaxy line and it just becomes a dumb comparison.

My battery life *seems* to be improved after yesterday's factory reset. I was an impatient a** the other day when I picked up my phone and spent the car drive back to the house downloading updates and setting really the entire phone up over cellular. Probably tweaked out a few settings. The phone seems to suspending apps in the background now, as it should based on my settings. Will know more as the day progresses.

Curious, anyone who's used the Galaxy buds so far as well as Airpods in the past. Which one did you prefer and why?

I actually prefer neckbuds too. They're just so convenient. Not much choice if you want ones with a USB-c connector so I've the Bullets as well. Only had them a week - in prep for having the same connector as my phone - but they're good so far.

Anker make some surprisingly good ones for a throw away price - around £20 or so - but they've not made a USB-c pair yet. They're about as good as Beats X on the iOS side save the W1 but around 4 times cheaper.

I've got all 3 so feel able to compare.

That's a dang good price for wireless neck buds, ty for the heads up on those! How do they sound compared to the Bullets? (I haven't tried the Beats X) And how do you charge them?

Well I'm a ****ing idiot and I just ordered the S10 + again. I have a problem and need mental help.

My plan is to try it for 10 days and then truly decide if I want to keep it or stick with my iPhone XR. The XR is really good but I'm just so bored with iOS. And one positive that I took away from my Pixel experience is that I've discovered that it is possible to break away from the Apple Ecosystem. Yes I'll keep my Apple TV because I have over 200 purchased movies, but that product isn't dependent on having an iPhone. Also, the Apple Watch brought me back...but I checked out the Galaxy Watch Active and I absolutely love the look of it.

So here goes nothing!

God I need help.

I feel you man. I went for a OnePlus 6T but my old 7 Plus still comes out of the pocket more often, one month later. And my Apple Watch is still on my wrist, gen 1 but soon I'm not going to be able to resist the gen 4 with LTE.

There are things about Android I'm starting to remember how much I love though. I think the solution I'll end up going with is a more polished Android phone probably in the form of the Note 10, while selling my 7 Plus and picking up a cheapo iPhone 7 to use as a home base for my AW as well as being a bonus secondary small phone (very convenient sometimes especially during the summer when clothes are lighter and pockets smaller/fewer).

I've just got off the phone to returns and my S10 is going back.

But fear not!
It is only so I can then purchase a Plus. :)

The more I've used the phone the more I've enjoyed watching content on it which isn't something I normally do on my phone. I'll often prefer to reach for the Chromebook etc but the screen is so much better on my S10 that I am enjoying it.
So the larger screen will definitely be welcome.

The only concern I have is how much I enjoy the feel of the S10 in the hand currently, but I still struggle using it one handed (small hands) so may as well welcome the bigger screen.

Will take a good 3-5 days before I can order the Plus so back to the XR for now.

Watching content on my phone is a whole new world to me since getting my OLED display OnePlus 6T after years of using IPS iPhones. I can imagine going to a S10 series is even more of a shock, with that insane display quality. I've kind of screwed up my provider cycle with the 6T but I'm hoping to sell it soon and pounce on the Note 10 this fall to join the Samsung 2019 display club
