My LTE battery performance isn't great.

Off the charger at 7am and I'm @ 70% with 1h SoT.

Looks like on wifi it performs great but LTE is another story. Whereas, Snapdragon models are way ahead in terms of battery compared to the Exynos versions.

I'm tempted to try and get hold of a Snapdragon version but here in the UK, they don't sell them by default and theres no warranty on them either.
Yeah it will be worse on LTE

I found that when at work for example. Still lasted all day though but found may get 1-2 hours less on screen time and felt it drained more on standby

Not really. My iPhone XS Max would have been on around 85% with the exact same usage. Which us my family commute to work thus, I know the pattern.
Had a Note 9 with same problem. I have moved back to iPhone now but it seems all the positive reviews for battery life come from snapdragon variants. I know you can improve battery my disabling GPS, BT, lower res etc but for me that defeats the whole point of the device. Very frustrating!

It's hard to compare with the iPhone as the S10 does more and likely working overtime to push certain features that may be working on the background. Like widgets which refresh for example. On the iPhone all its pushing is notifications

I have an iPhone Xs Max and Pixel 3 XL and S10+. My S10+ routinely gets the same or better battery life than my Xs Max. I don't have anything turned off except Bluetooth on BOTH phones.

My Xs Max does seem to hold onto that 100% longer than the S10+ in battery percentage meter. But then at the end of a days use....the S10+ gets just as good battery life or better. So that would seem to indicate maybe the battery meter is not accurate on the Xs Max?

Anyway there are both great phones and can't go wrong with either of them.

I do agree that the S10 Plus is pushing more widgets, better/bigger screen etc. Howver, it has a much bigger battery (4100 vs 3174) that's just under a 1000mah difference thus, I expect the S10 plus to last just as long as my XS Max with similar usage.

However, it simply doesn't do that I'm on 54% with 1.45 SoT - all accounts, that is poor.

It's also not on when the Snapdragon version is said to be getting 7-8 hours SoT time right out of the box.

Don't forget though it's impossible to compare usage wise as iPhones don't show real usage. Standby time though is where I think it's much improved on samsung devices from what it was

Granted I've used my phone heavily so far

All on WiFi apart from an hour on the gym

See my post just above your using Exynos constantly on LTE for the last 6 days cant say I noticed any real difference and my one is constant on dual sim Thai/Malaysia and BT to my Tag watch

Question regarding the Samsung Mail app:
Is it possible to set peak times for exchange email push notifications from lets say 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. like it was the case with the old Samsung Mail app some years ago which is still in use on my old "Galaxy S5 neo" right now?

peak time for office mails => Mo-Fr 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Also, iPhones do that thing where they stay on 100% for ages and then start to go down. Android phones' battery indicators start decreasing almost immediately. They're all using energy, so I'm not sure why Apple configures the reporting this way.

OOoooh I know why! (or I have a good guess)

So many people charge their phones right before bed. The way Apple has it configured people can say they didn't lose any power over night since it'll still be showing 100% in the morning.

Absolutely, and I’d like to add that this is common calibration practice; I’ve also had cheap androids that acted the same. Since phones are programmed to cut off charging at 100%, it might be unnerving to wake up to 99% battery when it’s been plugged in all night. The battery percentage on your screen is always going to be very slightly higher than actual, but that gap closes once you get to 20ish percent.

@maka344 If you're really not happy, send it back for a refund and get an imported one. More hassle sending off if you have any trouble but cheaper and gets you the SD version.

That's what I'm thinking of doing. But there are claims on various forums that the Exynos version has a number of bugs that Samsung need to patch which in turn will fix battery life, hopefully. Theres a know wake lock bug around VoIP calls where the phone doesn't resume deep sleep after a VoIP call.

I'm still half tempted to do the same. Would really like the Gcam port not available on Exynos. Wondamobile are a reliable importer but I wouldn't like the hassle of sending off to Hong Kong should I have any trouble.

My Xr does that to me. It drives me crazy. I’ve been using it all morning so for three hours now the indicator has barely budged from 100%. If I continue to do exactly the same things in the next half hour or so the indicator will suddenly slide precipitously to the halfway mark and from there dive fast every few minutes to the end, just as I’m about to leave the house to pick the children up from school.

My Pixel meter is steady and accurate.

I think this is really clutching at straws whilst my Exynos version has none of these issues and it's unfortunate if yours does. but your just as likely to pick up an equally rare SD bug that are reported by some users in US yet none here

My battery life on the S10+ is just slightly better than my XS Max was, and not terribly far behind my XR. My XR is definitely the champ though. I'm routinely ending the day with 30-40 left on my S10+ and I'm still in that earlier stage where I'm messing with it a ton. All three last plenty enough through a day of use though, even when I'm pushing them.

Agreed as we have our devices longer we won't really obess over the battery life as much.

Screen on time has been great today. As its bound to be on WiFi but still easily the best usage I've had and its promising its getting even better

Forgive me for going slightly off topic. But how was your iPhone XS Max in regards to reception? Also, do you find it better or worse as compared to your S10+ and your iPhone XR?

If can ask, what carrier are you/did you use for each? Thank you.

I haven't noticed much of a difference between the three phones tbh, but I'm on wifi most of the time anyhow. I'm on AT&T.

To jump in on this for a moment, I’ve found that the signal on my S10 and XS Max are the same (approx two bars) at home. The difference being that when someone calls me on the S10, the call doesn’t fail the moment I answer.

I’m on Xfinity (Verizon).
