This is good.
So I was waiting a call back from Samsung to log a complaint and find out once and for all what had happened to my order.

Just checked my phone on a break and I've had an email advising my order is cancelled. No call back at 2 as promised. They just cancelled it.

So now I can't use my voucher code for £50 off as it's showing as already claimed and I have no watch! Winners .
 Goodness. Well if you ever decide to get it via other channels it is a very nice product. Lol...just saw the pictures!

I lose 1 percent an hour without aod which is ok but the snapdragons only lose half a percent percent an hour. The exynos are not as efficient at idle unfortunately but im still getting incredibly good battery life
I'm hoping the reset does the trick for me tomorrow on 4G

Battery has dropped 2% past hour, 30 mins. Hopefully it's about the same in 4G

For those who are not into the customary tabloid style, superficial reviews here is, as is customary, the definitive review of the Samsung Exynos and Qualcomm S10 phones. Heavy slogging perhaps, but far more informative than most youtube videos.

https://www.anandtech.com/show/14072/the-samsung-galaxy-s10plus-review

The quality of this approaches the reviews of Brian Klug, now at Apple with Anand.

Anyone which they had gotten a different size s10? I’m torn between the. Regular and Plus size.
I remain torn over the same choice. My original pre-order is for the Plus, so I'm sticking to it for the free earbuds and discounted phone case. The smaller phone is so much more hand and pocket friendly.

After dealing with all the crap from Samsung support, I finally got my ecertificate. Tried to use it on a Galaxy Active watch through the Shop Samsung app and like they said it didn't work. I also noticed it didn't apply my Unidays discount, so I tried again though the Samsung website this time... And it worked fine. It gave me the Unidays discount and let me use the ecertificate for the watch. Lol.

I don't know why it worked on one and not the other but it did. Now the wait for the watch begins.

Based on my experience so far i’ve Had no issues but if it’s not samsung themselves that explains things.

Apple are the best though and are a pleasure to sort issues out with.
Maybe in some countries but I have walked in to the only authorized apple dealer who would not even look at my MBA let alone send it off for repair as I did not buy it from them or open the box no return, no 14 days return policy, no AC , technical support 90 days only etc etc

The level of Apple support is so country specific many do not realize and more to the point you have paid Apple extra premium for nothing in many places

My husband is going to email Samsung tomorrow. See what the hell is keeping the hold on my pre order. They have had his S9+ since last Thursday, after all and saw enough they liked to have credited his account the rewards points for the purchase, finally.

Though it does supposedly take two weeks to process the returns. So I guess it legitimately could take another week. Groan.

Their terms are spelled out in the small print so I don’t really have any place to complain. Just venting here, I think it’s ridiculous that they refuse to process more than one trade in transaction per address, because they didn’t used to have this rule in place. And Google does not have this weird restriction.

Hell, before I was a stay at home mom, I had my own finances and kept everything separate from my husband’s. We split the bills and I was supporting my parents for a few years even after I left their home due to their medical expenses, and he was helping out his siblings and their kids. It took years for us to merge our finances into the kind of blended deal our married friends and parents had from the start of their marriages.

I was fiercely independent and would have deeply resented not having my transaction treated independently of my husband’s, not as a feminist thing, because I’d feel the same if I were gay and married to a woman. I’d want my wife to have her own financial identity, and myself to have one as well. So even married or domestically partnered couples do share residences without commingling their financial transactions and this policy has got to tick off some couples for that reason. Goodness knows what unrelated roommates/flatmates think of it. I wonder what caused Samsung to put this into place. Google does not do this. /rant

I purchased a regular S10 last night which hopefully should be here early next week. As much as I love the Plus model I think I’m over the big phone thing and prefer the usability of the smaller model hence why I kept heading back to my iPhone XS.

I’m not too concerned over the front facing camera as I rarely (never) take front portrait shots. The smaller battery is a bit of a concern, though I’m never that far from a charger so hopefully will be ok.

I got great results with the smaller S10 battery. Was very impressed with it .
I'm even more impressed with my Plus battery (it's the best battery I've had in any phone personally), so you should be good with your S10. :)

Anyone with a Samsung watch - is there an option to have notifications come through to just the watch and not the phone too as per iPhone and Apple watch?

I often get the notification milliseconds later on my watch and as I have the screen set to wake on my phone it almost makes watch notifications pointless as I've seen what it is before the watch tells me.

Won't be a problem at work, more just when I'm at home with both together.

I've looked in the options but the only thing I can see is to get notifications on the watch when the phone is in use which I have off as that's pointless for me .

Yes there is a setting on the Galaxy Wearable App.

I have that arrangement with my Note9 and Galaxy Watch Active.

Finally they are processing my order! Grumpydad didn't even have to email them. :D

Now I can stop being extra grumpy.

Well I was worried about it not shipping until our school's spring break. I may be home some days and not others depending on what everyone wants to do. I hate having to tell them oh sorry I can't take you to the movies because I have to stay home and sign for another smart phone. Good way to get your family to resent your hobby! :p
[doublepost=1553948616][/doublepost]Interesting and very thorough analysis at Anandtech possibly shed some light on why I find some discomfort viewing the S10 display but not the display on my other Samsung phones or the Samsung display on my Pixel 3XL.

"To make things even more annoying, the Galaxy S10 is also Samsung’s first smartphone with very aggressive CABC (Content adaptive brightness control) which cannot be turned off, with brightness scaling very differently based on APL."

I want the opposite of that. So basically like the Apple Watch. When I had my iPhone in use, my Watch never pinged with a notification when I received them as they appeared on the phone.
When my iPhone was locked / away from me, my Watch would get the notification.

With my Galaxy Watch, even when my phone is locked and not in use I get the notification on my phone and then on the watch a few milliseconds later. I don't want to get them on my phone when I have my Watch on?

Does that make sense?

You would toggle Mute Notifications On Phone. It works exactly like the Apple Watch

I have to be honest I'm not sure how to do that or if it allows. I just know you can't switch it off when using your phone jus not sure the other way around.

What's been the hold up?
My husband and I both pre ordered with trade ins of our S9 pluses as part of the purchase. Samsung allows fulfillment of only one such order at a time per household. (Which means any people living at the same address, even if they aren't anything more than roommates, from what I can tell ).

So I had to wait for my husband to be certain he was keeping his S10+. He did his best to evaluate it as fast as possible. Then he sent it in and from there it was another week or so for them to release the hold on my pre-order. It was just a bit puzzling that the hold took so long to come off because his phone was received and evaluated a few days ago. I guess some part of that process remained to be completed. And it has been, so I hope to see my phone soon. :)

Given their crazy terms I can't say they screwed anything up. But this is the sort of thing to keep in mind the next time they run a "Reserve your phone for pre order and get a guaranteed delivery by the launch date."

That is so misleading if you don't read the fine print. Which, fortunately, I did. Plus, I lived this all before with the Note 9 pre-orders. That one was even uglier. My husband and I both bowed out of that one.

Samsung simply does not know how to launch phones without drowning customers in fine print. They are adept at hiding behind it.

Still my husband is less ticked off at Samsung than he is at Apple right now. He is livid over their arrogance toward customers in their purchase of Texture and the rollout of Apple News. I think this is the end of him and Apple. He was a huge customer for personal and business purchases. Apple is the one that eroded that relationship.

It's so weird to see how much he despises Apple now.

Me too. I've been a pretty ardent Apple supporter for about 10+ years now. I've dabbled with Android to varying degrees since the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus tablet but Apple hardware was always at the center of my personal ecosystem. This is the first time that I can ever remember feeling actual disdain for the company. I actually am rooting for them to fail in the hope that they'll finally come to their senses, steer the back to what made them great, their exceptional hardware.

I won't beat this dead horse any longer, just suffice to say I'm moving on for now. If Google could just get their **** together in regards to Wear OS and Android TV, I could cut ties with Apple completely.

Yes, my GW has that and is a nice feature.
