With how much you post about your concerns with the battery, you’re clearly not happy with it. So exchange it or take it back and buy another before your 30 days are up. That wasn’t a dig, just an observation because it will be much more hassle after the returns period.

I'm going to do a full factory reset and review it and see if it's any different

Battery life is OK but given other people's experiences it's disappointing when on 4G

I've owned every Galaxy s besides the 5. The s8+ was my last one. I've spent untold amount of time on forums and subreddits that deal with Samsung phones. This has ALWAYS been an issue with Galaxy phones. Starting with the s8, Samsung started using higher quality long lasting batteries. They also usually have a very good capacity level. The problem has always been unstable battery life from day to day, and spending a long time troubleshooting what went wrong when you got 7h the day before and then 4 the next day with the same usage. It's not predictable for a lot of people.

No I get full bars at work
Is your standby drain bad?

This is almost never a viable solution, unfortunately. The odds he has a bad battery are next to zero. Something is going on with his phone, but there's almost zero chance it's a bad battery from my experience.

I feel like Princess Leia right about now in regard to my upcoming S10+

DD45C55B-6DFA-40EB-974F-877B048C4C53.jpeg

I’m catching up doing Amazon reviews for books I’ve just finished. I have never before had a problem writing reviews via the Kindle App on my S9+.

But apparently my Pixel 3XL can’t handle it. I’ll get to the second paragraph and the text entry starts to slow down. By the end the letters are doing a slow crawl to show up on the display.

Most reviews I write are just a few sentences but if it’s an author I genuinely like and they wrote a clunker, I try to explain why I’m giving them a low rating. No “This sucks, k thanks bye.” So in that case I write what went wrong in a constructive manner.

Never had a problem on iOS or Samsung Android before.

Well I was about to send off the review and wanted to go to the beginning and add in the TL/ DR version of the review which was one sentence.

However the problem I have long had with my Pixel display is its hyper sensitive. I barely brushed the frozen display and it unfroze to take an unintended option of closing the app and I lost my review for the second time since I’ve tried to write a product review on Amazon Kindle.

I have noticed slow downs on regular Amazon reviews, too. Not just for the e-books.

Oh and my Pixel overheated, too. I had to reboot it. Also it eats a ton of battery on Kindle. My S9+ never did so I’m hoping I’ll have good luck with the S10+ on Kindle. If not, I’m reclaiming my 8 Plus from my kid.

I want stuff that just works from companies that know how to run a business and treat their customers right and not act like arrogant jerks. Apparently in 2019 that may be a bit much to ask.

Anyone with a Samsung watch - is there an option to have notifications come through to just the watch and not the phone too as per iPhone and Apple watch?

I often get the notification milliseconds later on my watch and as I have the screen set to wake on my phone it almost makes watch notifications pointless as I've seen what it is before the watch tells me.

Won't be a problem at work, more just when I'm at home with both together.

I've looked in the options but the only thing I can see is to get notifications on the watch when the phone is in use which I have off as that's pointless for me .

Maybe try setting up Do Not Disturb in the watch app for times when you know you’ll be at home. It should stop the notifications on the watch but not the phone. Not perfect, but the only way I can see to achieve what you’re after.

Thanks. I've decided to just have them come through on both unless the phone is in use. :)

Done the factory reset now

Just putting apps on.. Didn't backup anything to be sure

Will see what difference it makes
Good stuff.

It's made a huge difference to mine. You see the battery I got prior to the factory reset.

Took me about 2 hours to set it up 98% how it was. Was also fun and i discovered settings that I'd do.oeltely forgotten about.

I also stayed away from low end apps from the app store.

Any settings you changed at all?

I'm now all set up aside from doing contacts

I left Adaptive power mode off, screen to QHD and AOD on. Disabled NFC and things like scanning near by devices etc.
I charged my phone to about 45% when I factory reset it and now at 15% left this is the usage.. Guess will be a better test tomorrow from full charge
