So the phone screen has to be on to unlock? That is a disappointment for sure, did they upgrade the face unlock? I also still like the sensor on the back but good to see them pushing technology

I believe you can directly unlock with fingerprint if screen is off.

What I've not been able to ascertain is, does the S10 have "tap to wake"!? And no I don't count the fingerprint to unlock as tap to wake.

TIA!!!

This is one of the comparisons I was looking at.
I don't remember seeing that reviewer before. For someone trying to put together something fast while she was traveling she made pretty thorough presentation as well as set up a decent studio for herself in a hotel room.

Anyone know if the S10e uses UFS 3.0 instead of 2.1? They said the fold uses 3.0, but I have not found any info on the S10 variants.

I've only seen a few of her videos but I also think she does a pretty good job. I ordered my s10+ in green but the more I see that white colour the more I'm loving it, honestly thinking about changing my order.

Also had a little look at them in a car phone warehouse here.

The S10e, I didn’t like. It’s just too small now for my taste.
However I do think it will do well as lots of people still want a smaller phone and this is just that, so I think it’s great that it is an option.

If I had to choose one, I’d go for the Plus as theres very little between it and the normal S10.

However, I will be sticking with my iPhone as Samsung phones and it’s OS is just not my taste. If anything, I feel like this new take has make it look even more like a cheap Chinese brand than ever before.
Those new icons.

I recently bought an Apple Watch and I understand why people say they will be hard pressed to move to android and leave that combo behind. I personally don’t think the new Galaxy Watch will compare, functionally, or aesthetically. I’ve bought loads of bands since having my watch and I love being able to dress it up or down.

Still, the devices look gorgeous and the screens look amazing so im sure people will be very happy with theirs! :)

This is exactly where I’m at. While the phones are very nice I just can’t get past the cartoony looking software and I checked out the Galaxy Watch and the default watch faces on that thing were so ugly!!

I think these phones are going to sell very well.

I'm quite excited about the potential of the Note 10, looks like Samsung have made more than just incremental improvements this year.
I guess it will depend a lot on what the competition brings.
Most, if not of all of the criticism of the new Galaxy range seems to be very minor.

I don't think so, I might be wrong but I think the fold was mentioned as being the first with UFS 3.0.

Is that nothing but tech? She’s quite young.

There’s thousands to choose from. I think they said 65,000 watch faces. I’m sure everyone would find one they liked, even you. I actually liked the software on the watch. It looks a lot cleaner and more interesting than any of the older galaxy watches.

Don't people use non-stock launcher? I have no idea who some of these reviewers are. 6.8M for one of them. I can't say I've come across their videos and I'm not beholden to any specific reviewer on the old YouTube.

I genuinely don't understand the "cartoony" description people are using. The moment one of the top reviewers like MKwhatever said it, everyone began using it. To me it's simple and elegant compared to past icons. I generally don't like Samsung Store icons, most of them are awful. Not to mention their search system/browse isn't easy to use.

Not to mention the huge range of 3rd party icon packs available. I'm currently using the immaterials icon pack and it looks fantastic.

I like the new stock icons because they're easy to see and distinguish what I'm looking at. They're not pretty or elegant but they are utilitarian, which is what I think Samsung was going for. Maybe younger eyes can't quite appreciate the new aesthetic, but these middle aged eyes sure can.

Oh someone earlier asked what color we all were getting. Well my husband has blue on order and I have flamingo pink. My original favorite was the prism white but I had been thinking about switching to green until I found out that green isn't available here in the US. The coral option was quite a surprise.

I've been playing around with my husband's note 8 this weekend and two things have stood out to me. I love the default size of the text. It's small. I like small text. I have my kindle set up with small text too.

The other thing is how much the Samsung keyboard has improved. It's pretty accurate now. I usually just download swift key but I might give the stock keyboard a chance.

I’m sure the YouTube tech guy had said green was going to be available in the US. I guess he was wrong.

Short answer is yes.

There are options in the settings of the new One UI that allow raise to wake and double tap to wake. These can be toggled off and on. One of the things I missed when I had a Note 8. I tried this out on the demo unit of the GS10+ and it worked well.

Just read that the S10 shifts lock screen wallpapers every time you wake the display.
I know other Androids have done that, my KEY2 did it and I loved it.

It’s the little touches like those that I wish Google would put into the Pixel.

It’s a nice option.

That very good, wallpapers you choose or just random ones from what it comes with?

The KEY2 allowed you to choose from a massive selection, (they’d partnered with Unsplash I think it was). You could even add your own photos in.

I’m not sure with the S10, but imagine it’ll be from the stock wallpapers and you can probably pull from camera roll too.

Looking at the videos of the Galaxy Active, I'm wondering if it comes with a new verison of Tizen, as a lot of the screens look like they have been updated. If this is the case, i'm hoping Samsung roll it out to the other Gear watches.

As much as I would loved to have for the Galaxy Active, the rotating bezel is a huge part missing. Not just for it's actual use, but in actually protecting the screen. The amount of times i've knocked, bumped and dropped my watch and the bezel has taken the brunt. With the Active, it would be the screen which I don't think will end too well!
