I've been using Black Edition V2 for nearly two years lol.
Ditto or high contrast or material black although on Pie the default night mode with your icon pack of choice I find is an easier route now. I find black text on white backgrounds awful in countries with high sunshine hours.

I think many of these cartoon comments are just clutching at straws trying to find some key differentiation in the face of superior specs and functionality

Lets less face it IOS icon arrangement is pathetic to point of of blunt stubbornness to allow users even the simplest of options, Let alone the tiny amount of options on the AW faces and AOD

I find it a complete contradiction on style and individuality on owning AW. it's another part of Apple money grab system to gain individuality you have to buy watchbands and even then some like the stainless steel aren't water resistant and shouldn't be exposed to liquids, go figure on that one.

Whilst I would never buy the Samsung watch I think the new ones target audience is spot on and not like the AW trying to be a jack of all trades with some pretense of fashion or elite status that only work with one phone

Short answer is yes.

There are options in the settings of the new One UI that allow raise to wake and double tap to wake. These can be toggled off and on. One of the things I missed when I had a Note 8. I tried this out on the demo unit of the GS10+ and it worked well.

The S9 also got this feature with the Android Pie update.

I would trade you the Flamingo Pink for the Prism Green color lol. It is more like an orange than exact pink, so idk why they call it Flamingo Pink?

Samsung will most likely add more color options in four months. I suspect that borh Colors will be available worldwide eventually.

Too late for me since I ordered the Prism White.

If there was a way to have the same SIM card in more than one phone at a time, then I’d definitely swap between two phones.

As it stands it’s a just not possible and a bit of a nightmare if you use WhatsApp, which I do.

Not the SIM, but some carriers allow the same number on two devices. No idea how it's done. I came across it a month ago while looking up app reviews on YouTube.

Thanks for answering my question. That's good to know. Tap to wake is one of those features if you've had it you can't let go. Never thought iPhone would've adopted this.

I haven’t done a ton of research but what’s the screen protector situation on the 10 and 10+? Do you really have to use one with a cutout for the FP sensor like we saw in a leak? I sure hope not.

I don’t, but my job offered me to get a Pixel 3 or iPhone XR as a work phone. Only case I would use two devices is a work/personal thing that is paid for by an employer lol.
My work pays for my plan and gets me a new phone every 2 years, but I can't wait that long so I usually buy a phone myself and just swap the SIM to my own phone.

I also pre-ordered a new S10+ to get rid of my iPhone XS Max. I am bored with iOS and done with Apple literally. Tired of the direction they are headed, so the S10+ is light years ahead of apple and they actually innovate stuff.

Any place but here or there....
I just cancelled my SE order. Really annoyed at seeing battery decay on my 2 month old 8+ that I barely use (to say nothing of iOS which is just ugh). I'll watch for reviews of the s10e (No curved screens for me and I'd rather move away from a larger phone/price point). Once there are non-trade in deals, I might consider an s10e.

The pearl white is very nice. I'll definitely be stalking it at Best Buy and the Verizon store.

Cannot wait to read everyone's reviews and how you like these phones.

I love the S10E so far. Only concern I have is the lower nits/brightness coming from the XS Max. Maybe I’ll get used to it since people got used to the drop off in the XR display.

My initial thoughts on the S10E:

  • Screen is pretty awesome for a 5.8" display
  • Brightness could be higher, but I think w/ time people can adjust
  • The brightness is lower than my XS Max
  • Cameras are awesome and the wide-angle camera should please many
  • The stereo speakers are pretty nifty, especially with the smaller top ear piece being so minimalistic
  • The phone is really compact and doesn't lose its premium feel, especially with the Prism White color scheme as an aesthetic piece
  • 3100 mAh seems quite a bit, especially with a newer processor/more RAM/etc
  • Battery life is an unknown right now, but QC 2.0 is way too slow for 2019 imo
  • Reverse Wireless charging seems awesome, but gimmicky to me because I wouldn't use AirPods or Galaxy Pods
  • Samsung's One UI is a better blend of software features and streamlined performance
  • Samsung didn't seem to cut corners as much as they could've
  • A headphone jack is a welcomed site
  • 106gb of internal storage (after device uses memory for resources) and a SD slot is more than enough
  • I thought it was odd that the retail models do not have the option to lower the display resolution from FHD to HD, like the S10 or S10+
  • Having a capacity FP sensor could prove to be better as the ultra-sonic FP sensor has issues right now with reviewers

I look forward to hearing other people's thoughts on the S10E too.

I'm very intrigued by the s10, but dual sim is too good to give up.

Also an underrated feature of the Xs lineup is auto brightness. It's REALLY GOOD. I don't want to fiddle with this feature based on my environment. Along with iMessage, the Apple ecosystem and stainless steel, I'll be staying put with my Max for awhile.

I'm pulling for the S10 success nonetheless though!!!

I haven’t even used the dual sim feature and I don’t plan to. I don’t really have a use for it but I can see why it would be useful to others. I detest auto brightness on any phone or device. I’m really OCD about setting my own brightness level and I don’t use iMessage. All of my contacts use iMessage. Even the ones on iOS.

Is Samsung's 'One UI' available on the S10 out of the box?

Sorry for the potentially silly question.

Just watched a video of explaining how it changes the navigation of Samsung's version of Android and I really like it.
The best thing being that it gets rid of the three on screen buttons at the bottom, which I'm not a huge fan of.

Yes it comes loaded with one UI. I saw it on the models on display at my local O2 store.

This is what I’ve been saying. Unless you’re directly under the sun or watching an HDR video on YouTube, the XS Max side by side destroyed the S10+ in brightness. It’s Samsung’s software limiting this which I understand but is still frustrating.

S10E is a lesser phone, so no surprise the Max is better screen wise. However, I think I’ll get used to the S10E. Plenty of folks left their XS Max for the XR. I rather have more features than a larger screen Apple doesn’t maximize.
