So you all are happy with the punch hole and 8 plus camera on the front? Are they visible watching full screen video?

It’s the same as the notch. You can watch the video with borders or you can zoom in and then the hole punch will be in the video just like the notch is. The hole punch even the double hole punch is smaller then the notch and on the right on the corner so I think it will be less intrusive.

Not what I'm saying.
It's the fact that someone has a criticism and rather than people just accept that others feel that way it's almost like they're berated for it.

Put it this way - I've posted here a long time and this is the first time on this section that I've felt like not posting criticism about something for fear of being shot down or told 'you don't like it so don't post here'.

Just my observation.

Fair enough, I just don't see it like that I guess.
Fair criticism is fine, debating it is fine, but when you get people who treat it as a sport to denigrate, then others get triggered, then there's the trolls.
Samesung, lagwiz, photocopier ready, explosions, gimmicks etc...
It's as bad as the calling people "isheep" carry on.
People here should try to remember that their personal experience with a device, good or bad, does not translate across millions of other devices.

Please don't take any of that as a reflection on you, because it isn't.

As it stands, there's not much to criticize the S10 series for (yet lol), hopefully it stays that way.

Thanks well explained. Guess the note 9 is best phone for full screen video now then.

My cancellation took place in about an hour and my husband’s was about an hour, maybe less. That’s from initiation to the reception of the confirmation email. At any rate he was able to fix his messed up order quickly.
That's so weird. Mine still shows that it's Initiated. Maybe it's because it was Sunday at 9pm. Lol

I always cover the front camera for privacy and security reasons but now it will be hard to cover with s10.

Don't forget guys many apps will have permission to take pics and videos. Imagine you are in a rest room using your phone ??? :D:D:rolleyes::rolleyes::cool:

I feel terribly sorry for the psychological damage done to anyone watching the view of my face as I poop. Or for anyone getting a candid close up view of my face or any other part of me as I go about my day.

I'd like to think that this actually did happen and has caused the end of several NSA surveillance programs and resulted in the preservation of truth, justice, and the American way. I'm probably a huge hero to resistance fighters embedded in our deep state and I don't even know it.

In other speculation, it will now be even easier to obscure the lens as it's an obvious tiny dot or oval office in the corner.

Edit: oval off in the corner, not oval office... autocorrect on Gboard has had too much coffee this morning, apparently.

Dammit. I just watched a couple YouTube videos and now I'm kind of wanting this phone. Do you all think it will be a huge loss in camera quality from the Pixel 3???

And do you think they would all ship faster than March 8th???

The cameras will be great for stationary pics. Samsungs camera problems have always been around motion blur. But it sound like theyve attempted to address that.

Oh absolutely.
I like to think of myself as a fair critic of all devices. I've used Android more over the last 4 years than iOS and I think if I had to choose I'd go Android overall.
However I am enjoying being back on iOS at the moment and I think it's the break I've had from it that has helped.

But the 'lagwiz' thing always made me roll my eyes. My XR has been lagging a fair bit recently - launching the camera app etc, and iOS is meant to be untouchable for performance - or some would have you believe.

It's not just Samsung either - I was vocal about the Pixel 3 launch and my disappoint in it and it always felt like I wasn't allowed to post because I wasn't hyping praise on it. So I just didn't bother posting in there for a while.

[doublepost=1551095153][/doublepost]The truth is almost 70% of mob phone users have no clue.
[doublepost=1551095360][/doublepost]You will never be alone , even in the very private of your space lol...

Just disable the camera permission from whichever app. I haven't run across an app yet that requires camera permission to be enabled in order to work.

Yep true but there are apps like barcode reader, postal and others that require access to operate.
[doublepost=1551098438][/doublepost]I guess that's the price we have to pay to enjoy our phones. No pain no gain.....

Just a reminder to all users

So I’ve seen in 2 different videos that portrait photos are not being taken with the telephoto lens anymore on the S10 plus. One video said it’s with the main lens and another said it’s with the main lens and wide angle lens. It seems that the field of view is now much further away. I prefer a more close up look in portrait pics.

I'd like to know your thoughts. (Gets pitchfork ready)

According to the review on AC they are having troubles with accidental edge touches. Something that has driven me nuts on Samsung curved displays since the first Edge device. Although it got much better in recent years.
