If that’s the case, manufacturers wouldn’t make them. I prefer glass as many others do, but plastic is the only way to go on the S10/S10+.

No reason to doubt MKBHD but Whitestone claims its Dome Glass works with the S10: https://www.whitestonedome.com/product/galaxy-s10-dome-glass/

And Belkin claims its InvisiGlass will work, but it's not available yet: https://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F7M069

The factory protector provided will buy some time to wait for reviews of these products in particular and maybe a few others later on, I guess.

I thought Samsung always starts software updates with the + models, shortly/few days later followed by the regular models.
But I think this update needs to be downloaded once we receive ours
I am not sure to be honest :) But I do wonder if they have enough time to update the images the phones will ship with or if they will bother at all and just let the phones update in the consumers hands.

In the US now pre ordering gives you shipping times of 1 or 2 weeks after March 8th , depending on which model
This is directly ordered via Samsung.

I may have missed this completely but is there a way to hide the Camera cut out in these like how we are able to disable the Notch on other devices?

E.g. is it possible to blackout the whole area where the camera cut out is so that it doesn't intrude into videos?

I do believe in one of the videos that was posted that a way to turn it off was shown.

When you go to watch a video you just don’t pinch to zoom and it will stay without the hole being visible

Yes unlocked gets updates later, i forgot the reason behind it.
I thinks so too...which makes no sense to me as you would think an unlocked phone direct from Samsung would get security updates earlier than carrier phones o_O
But at least you can flash official images from Samsung using Odin to update to the latest if needed...or just wait the extra month

yeah, the logic behind unlocked devices always getting software updates later, is beyond me.

well, hopefully I can survive getting my unlocked S10 software a few weeks later :D

The reason unlocked phones get updated later was given on a Samsung support page that I linked to and excerpted somewhere around here. Basically they say that because an unlocked phone has to work well with all carriers in a designated region, they actually have to do more extensive testing and work to ensure each phone can do that.

They use some of the work and knowledge gleaned from testing carrier models to help them figure out what needs to be done for the unlocked models. The carriers help them with troubleshooting of the carrier models, so that speeds things up as well.

So for a phone like the S10, what's the benefit of an unlocked model, if any? I'm having a hard time thinking of any outside of no start up splash screen?

I just went into a store to feel up the 10+ a second time and came away impressed once more.

Today I saw it even more clearly: the hole punch is just way less intrusive than a notch. When I got my new OP6T recently I was pleasantly surprised at how little I was bothered by its tiny notch as opposed to those of the XS Max, Pixel 3 etc, but after handling the 10+ the notch on my 6T honestly feels like a big ol' zit right in the middle of the forehead. Whereas the hole punch feels more like a cool tech element which has a reason for being there, kind of like a cybernetically enhanced eye. When you do notice it at all. I guess this is because the hole punch leaves the entire top edge of the display undisturbed, so that the overall sense of symmetry is left intact.

@Tsepz I don't know if you've got to test the 10/10+ yet but to me the hole punch actually didn't disturb me almost at all when watching full screen videos.

Again I feel like the aspect ratio/thin bezels/the combination of the two makes the display seem a lot bigger and naturally shaped than those on other recent phones with a similar footprint, which to me overall feel just too narrow and long (including that of my 6T). The S10 phones have much more of a feeling of being "all display".

The by me much loathed screen curve seems to be quite a bit more narrow and less real estate-devouring than on the previous generation of Galaxies. This one I could live with, and perhaps even come to appreciate. Immediately after handling the 10+ I went around the table to the Note 9 and I was almost shocked at how the screen curve stands out on it, and how narrow it makes the phone seem. A very clear difference, in fact the Note 9 already felt straight up outdated to me.

And the display quality... I tend to think that people bringing this up are exaggerating and that how much worse can the 1080 p AMOLED on my 6T be, but I have to admit there is a clear difference. Any good high res photo would look good on my 7 Plus, and great on my 6T, but honestly quite magical on the S10 phones. I watched a few 4K trailers on the 10+ today and damn...

Detail: the ceramic back is definitely very sexy, in all colors. I don't really care about the back of a phone that much because I never use them naked but nevertheless this detail impressed me too.

So yeah...I'm already finding myself thinking about how and when I should shift my 6T in order to get the Note 10 this fall...

There’s an option in settings to hide the hole system wide.
