Does anyone know how long you have to mail in your trade in device? I'm planning on test driving this vs my Pixel 3XL before deciding whether I truly want to trade it in or return the S10+ and keep my Pixel.

Anyone on Verizon pick up their's yet? If so, do they give a CDMA model out or an eSIM/permanent SIM since they're switching off CDMA end of this year? If so, do you know if they'll make it easy to switch phones? I can't get through customer service because they're busy, but I might pickup an Pixel 4 when it comes out, too, and trade off between the two at regular intervals. I blame @GrumpyMom for implanting the idea into my head.

As for the phone, I was at Costco this morning picking up some dried goods and played with what was the ATT version in store. Very, very fast and felt nice in the hand. One of the employees at the booth had bought one and I'd asked if I could hold it.

I'll probably buy one from Verizon in store next week. I'd go this weekend but I don't want to get stuck in traffic with rain. Just need to figure out what case I want. I usually opt for something rugged with a decent enough of a lip to protect the front.

The phone isn't out yet. Releases Friday.

March 8th.
Thanks. I thought you were kidding. I checked, and yes, it's next Friday. Don't think I can next weekend. I just took a look at the offerings and I may spring for the S10+ in 512 GB form. There is a $100 price difference purchasing the phone outright over the mid-grade S10 with 512 GB. 128 GB is nice, but I take way too much video and pictures and the 512 is more tempting. Plus I can put in a microSD of 256 GB without much worry. With the extra other features with the S10+, that $100 is nothing in the grand scheme of things, IMO.

Damn, the front page thread on the XS Max and S10+ got intense. Both sides have their strengths and weaknesses.

Absolutely! Very well said, both sides do have their strengths and weaknesses. Consumers are so fortunate to have so many wonderful options to pick from in so many price ranges.

We should definitely discuss these things, but it shouldn’t devolve into toxicity. They’re just little computers.

It’s not apparent to me why Apple vs Samsung should be something with as much emotional gravitas as religion or politics or even sports! And yet people vehemently fight over which is better. How is that even logical? What’s better depends on your use case and your preferences. It’s ridiculously subjective. FWIW, I don’t really care to argue about religion or politics or sports, either. To each their own. I find these subjects absolutely fascinating to discuss. But to drag hostility into it? Why? What for?

I’m afraid to look, but curiosity will likely get the better of me.

I won't look. It'll be the same stuff.
I'm not so much loyal to Samsung as I am Android.
I've had a Nexus 5 and just don't care for pure Android and like the extras Samsung adds. But money is money and when they(Samsung) get too expensive, I'll get something else again.

That's what I don't get about Apple finatics but I don't need to get it.
They are too expensive for imo,....something that doesn't do as much and is behind software wise, don't include a fast charger for that high price and is closed.

But, to each their own, and buy what you like. No need to act like spoiled children to vent which is better.
Who cares what you think is better. I had an iPhone for 2 years and liked it,..... Til I used Android and that was it. But that's me.

The one you like and buy is better whether it's Apple, SS or Huawei or OnePlus.

So my 1st S10e case turned up in the post this morning.

Thankfully I have large hands but I can see the position of the fingerprint scanner/power button being a little higher than some people would like.

It’s not a deal breaker though.

Samsung should have just placed the fps on the back. It is more practical

Personally I don’t like rear mounted scanners, I preferred them on the from(when there were bezels)so as an alternative side is good for me. It could do with being a fraction lower though.

Even though you can use the scanner on the regular S10 while the screen is off you have such a small target to hit otherwise your phone won’t unlock.

Until the whole bottom section of the screen can be utilised for the fingerprint scanner I’m not a fan.

Finally I have seen the new S10 in the metal.

POSITIVES

They are fast:
This is truly the first Samsung that is genuinely fast. I only bought a Pixel 2 because the nicer looking S9 Plus felt slow and laggy in comparison.

The camera cut-out is SIGNIFIGANTLY less noticeable than the notch:
Cleverly the notification bar is even black when using chrome so you rarely see the camera cut out compared with the iPhone where the huge notch is almost always visible. For us who never have to “get used to” a notch, this is a hugely acceptable compromise.

Hardware is unbeatable:
Not only is the S10 Plus light but is super slender and maxes the Pixel 3 and iPhone Max/Xr look down right clumsy.

NEGATIVES

Flagship prices are high:
With the S9 discounted to £650 and the Mate 20 Pro available for under £500, flagship phones are increasingly looking hard to justify. However the screen and camera capabilities leave little to miss.

Over-exposed photos and videos
This is an issue I also saw in the S9. Quite often videos and photos look too over exposed at the expense of detail.

Needless to say the S10s are knockouts and will undoubtedly kill the mid range when they are discounted next year.

So my charge on Samsung's site is no longer on my online bank statement. But everything is good with my order. Not sure if that means it's getting prepared for shipment.

Think I’m leaning towards getting an S10+ on the upgrade programme. 128gb with my 200gb sd card is more than enough for me. But as there’s a 2 week delay, I’ve been looking at the 512gb instead..... Ceramic black looks nicer than the prism but that’s irrelevant as I’ll be using a case.

For those of you who still use SwiftKey, why? Wasn't it sold to some other company and essentially became an abandoned spyware privacy nightmare keyboard?
