For those of you who still use SwiftKey, why? Wasn't it sold to some other company and essentially became an abandoned spyware privacy nightmare keyboard?

It was sold to Microsoft, hardly some two-bit operation. Is it even possible to avoid all MSFT products in the modern world? You might want to steer clear of ATMs...
I know MSFT do some consumer testing on future updates and features for it here in London so I doubt it's been abandoned more generally.

There are two reasons why I use it.

1. Predictions and auto correction are unmatched by the Gboard or Apple keyboard. It enables me to almost type as fast as I do on a computer keyboard and autocorrects reliably 95% of the time.

2. My default keyboard is English but I also speak Swedish which includes letters such as å, ä and ö. Wheb using swift key I don't have to swap between keyword. Any time I type a word it simply knows whether I am typing in Swedish or English and autocorrects with mind blowing accuracy. I can even combine words from both languages in the same sentence and swift key just gets it.

I started using it in my galaxy S6+ Edge 18months ago abd was the first thing I installed on my current phone.

Absolutely! Very well said, both sides do have their strengths and weaknesses. Consumers are so fortunate to have so many wonderful options to pick from in so many price ranges.

We should definitely discuss these things, but it shouldn’t devolve into toxicity. They’re just little computers.

It’s not apparent to me why Apple vs Samsung should be something with as much emotional gravitas as religion or politics or even sports! And yet people vehemently fight over which is better. How is that even logical? What’s better depends on your use case and your preferences. It’s ridiculously subjective. FWIW, I don’t really care to argue about religion or politics or sports, either. To each their own. I find these subjects absolutely fascinating to discuss. But to drag hostility into it? Why? What for?

I’m afraid to look, but curiosity will likely get the better of me.

Likewise, very well said. It’s funny how 8 years ago how the iPhone was truly dominant. With its success bred new competition and people have such fascinating options at all budget levels. Samsung also helped shape the market since Google works with them extensively as well. It’s all preference, but many fail to give credit where it is due. When people start using ad hominid attacks and strawman arguments, that’s where it gets too chaotic. People shouldn’t be vilified for their choices. Yes, you can arguably say Android does more for your dollar than other iPhones. However, the features are the price someone is willing to pay for. Which is why flagships keep going up in price.

Didn’t know that! It would be great to have a keyboard-autocorrect that can combine Swedish and English! Will try...

Well I did it! Pre-ordered the S10e 256gb and S10 128gb phones in prism white. We're trading in an S8 and S8+. So the S10e will be $550 and the S10 will be $599. Haven't upgraded since the S8 was released so definitely excited for this phone!

Are you going for the S10 or the S10e, wasn't sure who gets which device lol. It's a worthwhile upgrade. I have been talking to one of my S8+ owning buddies and he wants to hold onto his S8+ until it craps out. I think the S10e is the best of the three due to less compromise with first gen tech and the curved displays, but that's just me.

I'm the S8+ user and I'm getting the S10 (both will be unlocked). I actually don't mind the curved edges. I use the contacts shortcut on it. I love that feature!

My plan was to keep the 8+ until either Black Friday or the 11 release but the lure of the free ear buds (I'll be getting the GC and using that to purchase them) and the fact that at Best Buy you can put any cellphone purchase over $650 on 2 year interest free finance sealed the deal.

Truthfully there's nothing wrong with the 8+. It's been an amazing phone for me and still works great. I just love the idea of the fingerprint scanner being in the screen.

Sounds like a good deal, enjoy! I found it quite ironic that the edge lighting and edge features are on the S10e. So that feature may come in handy for me on the smaller product. I would like the FP sensor underneath the display, but the curved sides are a no go for me, so I'll deal with a capacity power button based FP sensor.

The way I look at is that if I get another phone in 2020 or 2021, Samsung could be aggressive with trade in promos and I can also probably get my hands on a 5g version of the phone w/ an in-display FP sensor or 3D facial recognition by spending less now and spending more $ when I have more $ to play with.

I actually deleted Swiftkey as it just wasn't doing it for me but not because if the reason you say. To me it just wasn't as good as Gboard or the Samsung stock.

We got both phones free for 24 months with a credit on our account, so getting $300 per phone was a great deal for us!

Had a play with the S10+ earlier, just a display model at the store. It’s an absolutely gorgeous phone from a hardware perspective, and I actually find the hole punch cute, if that’s the right word for it. One UI looks like an exceptional step up in my opinion. Overall looks like a fantastic flagship, but for the first time in forever I do not feel compelled to switch from what I’m using now. For the first time, I’m completely happy with my set up. Those who are buying it though will be getting one beautiful device.

Do it. Once you have tried it, it will feel dumb to use a keyboard that requires you to switch between back and forth between international keyboard.

If I want to typ å or ä I simply use the letter a and it autocorrect to the correct swedish letter.

Had a play with the new S10 range.. Samsung have actually hit the ball out of the park with them.. I left the store very impressed.

The models of the S10 range are so light and compact for their screen sizes, my Note 9 felt like a brick in comparison.

I will now have to try best to wait for the Note10 and not given for a S10 Plus.

If you can hold out I think the note 10 is a wise choice as Samsung will improve the fps over time.

I'm aware of the benefits of the blue tick certified phones but it seems strange that the s10 does not have it, perhaps it will gain certification at a later date.

From my experience with Telstra if it’s not advertised when they go for order it never gets added later. I have a xr which isn’t but had a 8 which is, I find the xr is just as good if not better, but the xs max I had which isn’t was not as good.
The xr has the same 2 antennas as the 8 so maybe that’s the difference.

Pre ordered the S10+ 512gb in ceramic black. Maybe because I went the upgrade programme route, it went through as delivery to my home address instead of work. Hopefully when online chat opens tomorrow, that can be changed.

Love my Max and no issues with it. But there’s a lot more to Android, so I’m sure I’ll have fun messing with all the features.

Just need to sort a case out. Might go for the official red leather one.

What are all your thoughts on the Galaxy Watch Active? The Galaxy Watch also looks great but I have small wrists and I think it might be too big.

I just upgraded my old LG Urbane smart watch to a Gear S3 Classic to go with my S10+. Its a nice smartwatch with just one negative, the bluetooth range is rubbish compared to the 4 year old Urbane.

Absolutely not happy with the latest update. Is Samsung trying to downgrade s9+ so that we're forced to buy s10?

Phone sound is very low at 50% and "just ok" at full.
Plenty of crashes with many apps too. Unbelievably my s9+ suddenly not fun to use

I wholeheartedly disagree, The One UI update has made my S9+ smoother and improved battery life. I love the update! What in particular is bad about the update for you? Perhaps it needs a factory reset?

When did you get the update? One of the greatest features of s9+ was its stereo quality sound , it was fun and pleasant to play music and watch YouTube.

Now, unless you put sound at max it's really bad, yes very bad. I know my s9+ it's not like that at all
