What's special about Swiftkey? I've always stuck with the default keyboard. It works for me and my large hands.

What sets Swiftkey above other keyboards is it’s word prediction, it can literally save thousands of key taps.

It’s almost magic how the keyboard knows what you want to type. Whilst other keyboards do prediction they’re no where near as accurate.

Once it learns your style it can literally complete entire sentences for you regularly.

Likely the keyboard I will use, like the space and size more than anything

2 questions:

- I'm undecided between the Samsung Watch and Watch Active. I have somewhat skinny wrists for a dude (I'm a tennis player). If I went with the Watch I'd get the 46mm because I like the color better. How huge is that watch?

- Does the silicone case feel grippy? That's my #1 need with cases.

It’s a big watch but I have big wrists so it seems and looks ok on mine

The silicone case has a good grip and doesn’t feel bulky but better measurement is when the phone arrives

Sorry that's false information about Barclays.

I have been using my fingerprints as authentication on my Barclays Banking app since March last year on my S9. Again, it is still available on my Note9.

I suspect the handset you have been using aren't deemed safe enough by Barclays.

Knox seems to tick their security box.

Thanks for the info.
Maybe I got it wrong but all of the phones I've used (Xperia XZ Premium, Pixel 1, Pixel 2, BB KEY one and KEYtwo) have never had the option.

I don't think it's to do with the devices not being deemed 'safe enough' - nor do I think it's anything to do with Knox.
According the their website I've just checked any Android phone over OS 7 will work - but that was never my experience.

Ah well, wonder how the S10 fares with its in display sensor.

Sorry if someone else already posted this. It's Erica's take on the S10 and she will give her usual talk about the display and color profiles.

I haven't watched it yet.

Another Apple guy here completely in the ecosystem with Apple Watch, iPhone X, MacBook Pro & all.. loving the look of the S10!

Contacted Samsung on live chat and here in the UK they offer a 28 day cooling off period.

I asked if I can use accessories, unwrap it all and use phone how I usually would etc - and yeah, full refund or replacement for 28 days from day of delivery.

Sounds good.. surely it’s worth doing even if I decide to stay with iPhone?

Wow I love the consumer protections I keep hearing about for the UK. You all ban so many harmful chemicals in consumer products that we don’t.

The Samsung has its own ecosystem that will eventually expand to include their household appliances. Some parts of their ecosystem are compatible with non Samsung devices. They’re actually doing better at playing nice with others than most of their competition.

Their watches, for example, work with iPhones and other Androids, albeit missing a few functions, but in a reasonable way due to practical limitations. They’re not trying to deliberately hamstring your experience to force you to buy a Samsung phone. I’ve been able to use my Samsung wireless charging pucks with any Qi compatible phone. I can easily cast from my Pixel to my Samsung tv.

Google and Oppo by contrast have proprietary fast charging implemented.

There is really only one company that deliberately prevents their stuff from "playing" with other manufacturer's stuff.

Wasn’t a fan of the review. Too much references to the iPhone, no explanation why Samsung’s update schedule is actually more on point with security patches, and no incorporation of the tap for the ultrasonic FP sensor.

I’ll wait for MKBHD or others to share reviews. The S10E solves a lot of problems of its larger siblings because you can put a good screen protector on it and not have to worry about FP sensor concerns too much.

I am glad, in a way, that I am going S10E because Samsung could give great trade in bonuses a year from now. Spending less now could mean I can get a 5G phone at normal prices and an under the screen FP sensor or 3D facial recognition next year or two years from now.

Verge are pretty crap these days, always more critical than anybody else

It’s a joke when they said S8 and S9 owners shouldn’t be in a hurry to upgrade..clearly a big upgrade from S8

Anything that isn't completely compatible with Apple products is most likely Apples doing. Others try to be compatible with them but they won't let them. Even Google photos is missing a feature on iOS that we have on Android. Apples doing. Don't know why they don't allow 100% of it. Maybe it isn't possible, I don't know.

No issues with the review to me, again I will argue against Samsung's update schedule being on point. But maybe that is just me being bitter that I will likely receive the S10 Plus before I get Pie on my note.

I certainly couldn’t have a smart phone without a watch anymore. Must be done for me

I haven't watched it yet.

I like that she mentions why the S10E is enough for her. A lot of people might see the spec sheet and say “why that much when I can get more from the larger siblings?” 6gb is more than enough for me too.
