Gotta say, and maybe I'm reading into it won't, but I'm not getting the "this phone blew me away" vibe from the people that have gotten it early. Maybe that's just the point we're at with smartphones now. Not sure. I could be way off.

ow what a dumb fool I am :oops:

I have changed my delivery with DHL to a Pickup Point as I will be working all day today, Friday. and nobody else at home today.
I made this change directly after I had received the shipping details (waybill number) given by DHL.

The change is delivery from my home address to a DHL Pickup point caused a (big) delay; the tracking gives me now Monday March 11th as the new delivery date..... smh!

stupid me.

Oh well, I will be reading all the nice reviews and photos of the S10 the next few days ;)

Be patient and let Spotify come with an update that might address the issue with this new flagship. After all, one could argue Samsung is a top priority for Spotify, as I'm sure they'd prefer their customers use Android versus iPhone.
[doublepost=1552006551][/doublepost]

Apple a Car Play requires USB!? Ugh... I've never desired it myself, but good to know.
[doublepost=1552006804][/doublepost]

Is it me, or has the importance of Camera been overblown on smartphones!? Don't get me wrong, I want the best, but it's not something I look into first when I get a new device.

Yep, for Mazda's retrofitted infotainment upgrades. Android Auto worked a lot better today than my time trying to set it up with a family member's Note 9 when I got the upgraded software put in.

In Australia, the S10 is $1349 for the 128GB.
The iPhone competitor (XS), with half the memory, is $1629.

iPhones used to be around the $1100-$1200 mark for their smaller flagship models.

But for Apple to inflate things so much, screams greed.

It'd be nice to think Samsung have forced Apple's hand to reduce pricing, but that's a pipe dream...

Great value handsets are the S10/S10E.

The Galaxies are going to stand out feature wise and design wise relative to the iPhones. However, both lines are still prohibitively expense for major markets. You can get a great Nokia, Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, or BLU device for $300 USD or less w/ many of the same major concepts thrown in.

The Nokia 7.1 is a great example of a modern flagship like setup with a notched display, dual rear cameras, minimal bezels, etc. But that's in general. Relative to the S10, it's going to look like child's play.

Blown away as in revolutionary? No....but I am impressed and liking the S10+ so far. But it is still early in the process. Big improvement over the S9+ imho.

I don't think many products are poised to be revolutionary. The Galaxy Fold and Huawei Folding Device are the two biggest revolutionary products on the market, but they're niche based right now.

24 hour first impressions

The screen is excellent. Overall aesthetic is top notch. Had two people notice it from the prism white today. Very nice body size, but I do wish the 10+ got the 6.7 inch body of the 5g version. I have resigned myself to carrying a phablet so I could use a bit bigger screen.

The battery life so far today has been very good. This is after being spoiled by the excellent battery on the 6t. I had a edge case day today. Ran the flashlight, and played music full blast from 10 am until 3pm and did manage to kill the battery but any phone would have died under those conditions.

Didn't charge it last night went to bed, at 12am with 85%, woke up with 80% which is reasonable.

Used one UI launcher for about 3 seconds before moving to nova launcher. Not sure where the rave reviews are coming from, it looks like something for a child. I do like what they have done with the menus, and the apps all got a nice fresh design that looks great.

Performance is snappy for sure. Turned off the animations and it is snappier yet.

Now this is a relative thing since I am coming from the 6t, but the camera is excellent. Only shot about 20 pictures so far, but everything is 20 seconds in light room away from top notch. I do feel like I want to throw in a touch more contrast, and tune down the exposure slightly. However very nice consistent results so far.

Galaxy buds are bomb. So glad I got them since it seems like many people unfortunately need to wait. Paired with the S10 they are excellent. I will definitely be retiring my airpods.

Overall very happy with my purchase.

I am a terrible phone slut, with wandering eyes, but this feels like a full year phone. I am sure this time next year I will be deciding which folding phone to get, but this seems like a nice swan song for this form factor.

This is basically the logical end. The final boss was getting a all screen phone, with minimal camera bump, huge battery, streamlined software, under screen fingerprint sensor, and waterproofing. Bravo they have finally done it. Not sure what else you can ask for at this point.

Samsung has really polished their phones to a mirror shine from where they were just a few years ago.

Anyone on the fence with the considerable money to burn, I say go for it.

That being said if it weren't for the insane promos I may have honestly looked at some of the deals on the s9+.

I think people have just learned to be cautious because so often as the days wear on the hidden “gotchas” emerge.

So far what my husband and I have seen of his S10+ has been impressive. But he’s still setting it up. This is different from arranging icons around on an iPhone. There are so many settings and customizations to dive into.

For me, my enthusiasm is tempered by a potential health issue. Like a good number of forum members I sometimes run into migraines or eye strain with all these modern LEDs. Sometimes it’s lightbulbs, sometimes it’s certain tweaks to the OLED displays. It’s hard to anticipate when that problem will crop up. It’s hard to get as excited as I normally would be, because there is a strong possibility I’ll be shut out of this purchase even though I think it’s really awesome and a great value with the trade in credits.

I learned the hard way to rein in my excitement. I was absolutely in love with my XS Max. I was sold on the idea and what the execution appeared to be. But it had awful WiFi and cellular connectivity problems and the display made me physically ill.

I did carry my husband’s s10+ around the house today and marveled at how beautiful the blue was and how beautiful the display looked. And I really liked the photos I took with it. I was disappointed to find I had difficulty reading the forum posts on it. I just kind of got quiet and handed it back to him and decided to check out the S10e. I appreciated the wishes of good luck because I am going to need it and because I am as sold on the S10e as I was on the S10 and S10+.

Even if I can’t do a lot of reading on it, I’ve got the 3XL for that and can use it for just about everything else. Watching movies on it should be okay, too.

I am just a little bit nervous about my future prospects. Display improvements don’t seem very compatible with my biology.

I was going to get a Nokia 7.1 for my Son but was reading reviews and some people said it was having some issues on TMobile sometimes working, sometimes not so I ended up getting a Huawei Mate SE.

It is actually a realy good phone and was only $220 from Amazon. Has a LCD display instead of OMLED but I like it. One of the few that let you choose how you want your button lineup to be configured which to me is cool. I like the back button on the right. Not like pure Android which is on the left. It also has 4gb of Ram and a bigger battery than my S9 at 3340 mAh.

My point is when I feel Samsung gets to expensive this is the route I'm going. But next year if the SS pre-order is also $550 off, I'll dive back in if they don't raise the prices from the S10.

So this guy totally doesn't like the S10, and that's fine and all, but I have to admit, that prism blue is damn sexy.

Problem is s8/ s9 N8 & N9 are too good which leaves nothing for s10 to be something. It's his opinion and it's good to see a very different point of view.
[doublepost=1552025533][/doublepost]Wow all s10 variants are already selling on Gumtree as second hands

24 hours in, the fingerprint sensor is much better, but still slower than Face ID or previous scanners. What makes up for it is the display, which is pretty great. Still getting used to One UI compared to Pixel vanilla software, but they are both now smooth, etc. Phone isn't the homerun the hardware makes it seem, but still very good, very fast. Honestly think the fingerprint sensor is now a big negative. It works now 80% of the time, but man that is annoying overall.

@Lobwedgephil Not sure if you already mentioned earlier in the thread but did you remove the pre applied screen protector?

Yes, I did. It makes it better in my experience, but still not as good as previous. I have to say this though, so of course you shouldn't expect it to be as good as it was on previous models, but that it hard for me. I appreciate the new tech and effort for it, but I don't think you should put it in you flagship phone until it is ready. As I have said, it has gotten much better, but it is still a step back. Other then that, impressive phone.

The issue is not the fps itself if you get the placement right it works every time, its just hard to guess the right spot with the screen off.
