Think it was on about 38% when unboxed it

My partner S10 was pretty much fully charged maybe hers was higher as it was on contract when mine was sim free
It's such a drag these products don't show up ready to go. Steve Jobs used to demand all devices ship with a full charge because first impressions only happen once and your first impression shouldn't be "I have to charge this thing". Now it's like "oh well, let me plug this in for setup". Happened on my wife's Pixel 3 as well.

For the record...I have yet to have an iPhone come fully charged even when SJ was alive. My S10+ came at 78% which is perfectly acceptable to me :)

One more things is a setting I can't seem to find thats driving me nuts!
On the S9 - If I added an app to the homescreen, it no longer showed in the app drawer. Anyone know where this setting is as can't remember what it's called!

I was going to get a Nokia 7.1 for my Son but was reading reviews and some people said it was having some issues on TMobile sometimes working, sometimes not so I ended up getting a Huawei Mate SE.

It is actually a realy good phone and was only $220 from Amazon. Has a LCD display instead of OMLED but I like it. One of the few that let you choose how you want your button lineup to be configured which to me is cool. I like the back button on the right. Not like pure Android which is on the left. It also has 4gb of Ram and a bigger battery than my S9 at 3340 mAh.

My point is when I feel Samsung gets to expensive this is the route I'm going. But next year if the SS pre-order is also $550 off, I'll dive back in if they don't raise the prices from the S10.

I think Samsung is going to need those aggressive promos to compete with Apple and major Chinese OEMs. I am fine with that because I would consider getting the S11e if the features are there:

5g, 8gb RAM, in-display FP sensor, 3D facial recognition, 865 processor.

However, those types of features sound like a 2021 Galaxy imo, so I would end up getting the S12e in reality w/ a S10e trade in.

I don't like Huawei products because of EMUI software, potential backdoors, and their scarcity in retailers don't let you know what you're really expecting in their products.

What's the go with warranty in Australia with Samsung if i like buy this? with $100 voucher off = $1080, $370 off retail.

I wouldn't touch that. A seller with only a 4 rating (albeit 100% overall)? Seems way too new and eBay has had issues with scammers before.

It's the other way. When apps are downloaded they go straight to app drawer by default. Then you have the option if you want them downloaded to home screen or not.

I actually canceled my pre-order for my S10+ today. Also sold my Mate 20 Pro. I'm down to an iPhone XR. I think I'm on like step 7 of the process.

I just had 2nd thoughts on the S10 after I watched a ton of reviews last night. I just kept thinking about all the other things I could spend my $1,000 on. I will stick around here to hear about everyone's experiences. I might be back in the S10 game after some deals drop.

I also might try and get a P30 Pro when it comes out.

Mine just arrived.

Setting up now - not swapping sim over as need to leave at 11 and will be out til 4ish so will play properly later.

First impressions are I love the size and feel in hand. It's perfect for one handed use (smaller S10 here) and is virtually the exact same height as my XR.

First thing I've done is change my wallpaper... lol.

Never used Gumtree, so not exactly sure about their policies to protect buyers. If the person has receipts, then that is good. I would just take a friend with you so no funny business. Also agree to meet up at a local police station too.

My husband seems to get along fine with it and the phone unlocks quickly for him with it on.

I don't have my own phone yet, as my order is on hold and backorder. But I've seen his phone's display with the protector on it and like every film protector on every OLED display I've ever seen, it produces a very fine grain effect. Some people won't notice this, but I do and find it makes annoying tiny sparkles. I'm ripping that film off as soon as I get the phone.

I was trying to evaluate the display to determine if it would aggravate my migraine problem the way the iPhone OLED does and I just couldn't get past that annoying grain that makes the OLED look like a bad LCD display. I did use film protectors on LCD displays for many years. Film on LCD does not produce the same sparkles and grain.

Dear grumpymom,

As you know i cant stand oleds bur really want to get the s10e. I know you have problems with oled aswell. Could you please tell me how it is for your eyes when you get it?

So one software thing that irks me is that when I reply to a What's App message or a text, my reply sits there on my notification bar after I sent it. Is there a way to turn that off?

Those are exactly the things keeping me away from Huawei as well.
If I am going to buy and spend that much on a smartphone, then I want something optimised for my country and carrier.
I would like clear concise path to what model is optimised for my country with the accessories to match.

I have read a plethora of things here and there about Huawei and backdoor programs that it is not worth the risk to me.

Then I really dislike EMUI......it has gotten better over time but still not ready imho....

Gotta say, and maybe I'm reading into it won't, but I'm not getting the "this phone blew me away" vibe from the people that have gotten it early. Maybe that's just the point we're at with smartphones now. Not sure. I could be way off.
Sure there is an element of truth in this as there is a lull in extraordinary leaps forward however I think the best way to look at it is the S10's are more in tune with Pie and more recent upgrades than just a refreshing of OS on your previous models

The overall experience is just more lush :D

I think people have just learned to be cautious because so often as the days wear on the hidden “gotchas” emerge.

So far what my husband and I have seen of his S10+ has been impressive. But he’s still setting it up. This is different from arranging icons around on an iPhone. There are so many settings and customizations to dive into.

For me, my enthusiasm is tempered by a potential health issue. Like a good number of forum members I sometimes run into migraines or eye strain with all these modern LEDs. Sometimes it’s lightbulbs, sometimes it’s certain tweaks to the OLED displays. It’s hard to anticipate when that problem will crop up. It’s hard to get as excited as I normally would be, because there is a strong possibility I’ll be shut out of this purchase even though I think it’s really awesome and a great value with the trade in credits.

I learned the hard way to rein in my excitement. I was absolutely in love with my XS Max. I was sold on the idea and what the execution appeared to be. But it had awful WiFi and cellular connectivity problems and the display made me physically ill.

I did carry my husband’s s10+ around the house today and marveled at how beautiful the blue was and how beautiful the display looked. And I really liked the photos I took with it. I was disappointed to find I had difficulty reading the forum posts on it. I just kind of got quiet and handed it back to him and decided to check out the S10e. I appreciated the wishes of good luck because I am going to need it and because I am as sold on the S10e as I was on the S10 and S10+.

Even if I can’t do a lot of reading on it, I’ve got the 3XL for that and can use it for just about everything else. Watching movies on it should be okay, too.

I am just a little bit nervous about my future prospects. Display improvements don’t seem very compatible with my biology.
How it your 3XL display treating your eyes?

So, I have a very light green band around my screen, not sure whether it's the screen protector or a fault with the actual screen. It also shifts slightly pink.
