So one software thing that irks me is that when I reply to a What's App message or a text, my reply sits there on my notification bar after I sent it. Is there a way to turn that off?

Oh no! I consider this a great feature! It means I can send multiple messages to my contacts! In fact it used to annoy me when it would disappear itself!!!!

They should offer an option to turn it off though as it's clearly not for everyone.

I like to reply to texts from the status bar, but not getting a thread backlog lol. It clutters the notifications I have on the status bar.

Hi bud,

I think yours looks like mine, I have the pink hue when taking a photo with my iPhone and greenish lines at the side?

Dunno it looks ok when looking at it. Only when it’s tilted. Properly have to look at the color settings.

I’m still having issues even getting smart switch to work. I disconnected it as it was staying on 99.7%

So no I have to charge it to 100% again and try again...this is a nightmare start.

Thanks, could be a combination of the screen protector and changes they have made to the screens...

In terms of transfer, I'd prefer to setup as new and start a fresh.

I went for the ceramic black too, and it's stunning!

I would have used it wireless but coming from the max it seems harder via iPhone.

24 hours in, the fingerprint sensor is much better, but still slower than Face ID or previous scanners. What makes up for it is the display, which is pretty great. Still getting used to One UI compared to Pixel vanilla software, but they are both now smooth, etc. Phone isn't the homerun the hardware makes it seem, but still very good, very fast. Honestly think the fingerprint sensor is now a big negative. It works now 80% of the time, but man that is annoying overall.

If I'm being honest all this FPS talk and seeing people register reminds me of like 4 or 5 years ago. Apple has proven with Face ID fingerprint anything is just ancient.

Not trying to be Debbie Downer, but the FPS just looks silly next to Face ID.

I think it's all preference. When something works as it should, many wouldn't chime in on forums to go out of their way to explain how great something works as is. If a feature is clunky or not up to expectations, people will voice their concerns online.

It's first gen tech anyways, so I didn't have too many wild expectations of its success. I got the S10e for the very exact reason.

That's why Apple's working in an on screen FPS according to their patents?

I mean, I agree. I use an XS Max as well, and there is a notable difference in reliability as of now. While the fingerprint sensor was better, today it has been terrible. Twice today I got sent in "time out" for missing ten straight scans, pretty unacceptable for a phone these days regardless of new technology or not, ruining the experience for me so far. Love everything else about the phone though.

So does that mean you're going to return the Galaxy? I can see a lot of returns for that very reason. That's why I think Samsung kinda shot itself in the foot by not including an Iris Scanner or a strong form of facial scanning. I wouldn't mind a pill design if it means 3D facial detection. 2D is fine, but it can be fooled easier and it's very inconsistent imo.

They should have kept the intelligent scan (iris and facial recognition). It worked really well. Just as Apple should have kept Touch ID along side Face ID.

The just as FID was on the X...the in display FPS will get better on the next model and better with software updates.
Then it comes down to preference.

FPS will get better with updates...it’s first gen so won’t be perfect I think people need to do more than one FP for the finger they use the most which seems to help.

Meanwhile smart switch still on. 99.9%

I have no idea what to do if it’s like this for another hour like before.

No my contacts aren’t backed up but I don’t have too many so may just do them manually. Will give it half an hour if not I will just do it manually as not like I can transfer apps.

Undecided as of now.
