You mean with your carrier

Samsung have had dual sim far longer than Apple, only the Fold has 1 Physical and one ESim. I hope the Z-Flip will too. (Confirmed One eSIM and one Nano SIM for Flip)

I only found out recently that ESim is actually a pain as they are one time use activation so swapping phones or reset means you need a new activation. Not convenient if your second sim is from another country.

For the US market Samsung hasn't really offered dual sim the same way they have offered the rest of the world. They cave a lot to the US carriers a great deal on everything. Without Esim it's a no go for people like me that have multiple lines.

The unfortunate use of Android.. and adding so many features on top of that. But the speedy battery charge... makes up for it.

But I wonder does that have a negative effect on the battery... being able to charge it that quickly?
The battery degrades quicker if you use fast charging a lot.

The iPhone 11 Pro Max is more than all day battery life.

Samsung will always give the biggest battery but ends up to have almost the same but over the years lower battery life than the iPhone.

In my experience, in the last several years. The iPhone Pro Max is the only iPhone to have longer screen time than Samsung flagships. About 1 hour longer than the S10+

I suspect the S20 Ultra will match or slightly surpass the Pro Max with screen time.

Yeah, that's why I try not to use it as much. And I try keep using some type of black wallpaper and Dark Mode as much as possible.
I upgrade every year so I’m not too concerned with battery degradation. However I haven’t been using my fast charger as much with my 11 pro max.

Good to see some of the annual regulars in this thread.
I went down the S10+
Ceramic route last year and ended back on an iPhone 11 Pro Max with an Edition Apple Watch but man; the S20 Ultra sure is stunning. Size, screen and battery are tempting...

I haven’t been upgrading the past couple years... but I’m excited for the S20 Ultra camera coming to the upcoming Note, I’ll probably end up upgrading to that in the fall. Especially if Samsung gives a nice discount for the Note10+ trade in...

I’ve ordered the Grey S20 Ultra, it must be an absolutely huge phone though as they had a live store demo of the S20 Plus in Carphone Warehouse today and it was a big phone!

my Spigen case that I’ve ordered in advance is delivery seems a fair bit bigger than the wife’s Xs max but not crazily so.

might look different when the phone is in it!

Agreed. The Xs max battery life I found to be shocking how bad it was

I'm probably sitting this one out but I'm hoping some US stores get the models on before preorders go live next Friday. Need to see it in person.

But did they really? Or is it just a big phone with a big battery and flush camera?
I mean there are a LOT of those out there.

Isn’t that all he asked for though? Beast of a phone with lots of battery and a flush camera? The ROG II also has 120hz refresh to boot. And I can’t quickly recall a comparable phone recently with anything close to the 6000mAh battery in the ROG II either.

Not saying it’s a better phone than the S20 models because I don’t think it is. Was just pointing out an existing model that checked his specific boxes in that previous post.
Someone should just make a beast of a phone rather than having the camera bump. Make it flush and cram in a ton of extra battery. It would be huge and heavy but I think I might like it. :)

But you can get them, just not on release date :)

or a huge brick of a phone that is big and heavy and has a horrible camera and is uglier than a dogs butt....

Nothing to disagree with here...?

In all seriousness though, back to the request to eliminate the camera bump by just making the phone as thick as the camera model, would result in a really heavy phone. I want as much battery as is reasonable but my 11 Pro Max would like be a brick (it's already a pretty dense feeling phone) if the entire phone was as thick as the camera protrusion. Can't imagine how heavy the S20 Ultra would be if it followed those same parameters.

I don't care about camera bumps anymore, especially if it means superior photo/video functionality and performance.

But not designed for US use. It won’t have the compatible bands. So I’ll give you available but not for US use.
Pretty sure every phone release around the world will work in all the other countries. How do you think people who travel use their phones abroad?

They will work, but differ carriers use differ bands. And international phones usually miss a band or two. This means LTE (and 3G) coverage will be spotty or just not working on T-mobile or AT&T depending what bands are in use.

Has anyone seen the article here on MR about Apple being kinda fussy about using Qualcom's antenna design and messing around trying to use their own that might be pretty but not work as well?

I hope that's just a rumor. I love my 11 Pro and would hate to see Apple take any steps back on the next generation just because they still have some weird sort of almost personal grudge against Qualcomm. I've been doing a lot of reading about 5G and it's pretty tricky to work with the mmWave type. Apple doesn't need to be playing games with it.

I'm glad I am not interested in upgrading my 11 Pro this year. I'd have to drive hours out of my way to play with 5G anyway. I'm glad Samsung seems to be getting along with everyone. Those of you who have 5G service and are getting an S20 series phone will have good modems and hopefully good antenna design.

I'm worried Apple is having a challenging year.

Pretty? Idk about that. I took the article as it means that Apple is requiring something a tad more smaller or thinner. Its tough these days in regards trying to fit as many parts into these phones while keeping them as compact as possible. They already took the headphones out of these iPhones and every millimeter matters especially when customers demanding more battery.

Welp I broke down and reserved one.

I just bought a pixel 4 off of swappa for $425, that Samsung will give me $600 credit for.

Brings the price down to $1225, which is still high, but within reason. Especially with $235 in credit.

I was 100% going to buy the new Galaxy buds so that is another $150, and I need another 45w charger after leaving mine in a hotel.
