My wife is used to my phone habits. Shes not bothered. I usually treat her to the new iphone each year but shes not even that fussed about that. I'm usually more excited at getting her a new phone than she is!
That was me this past year. She had been using an iPhone 6+ and it was just hell using FaceTime or really anything else on that phone with her. It took 10 seconds to open Gmail. She dropped the phone and the screen was so damaged you could see the actual LED through part of the side casing. She taped it, but when she cut her finger that was the last straw for me. I had enough and bought her the 11 despite her wanting to keep the 6+. Then she realized what she's missing out on after seeing my Pro Max, "the 11 is too narrow, matte camera bump looks weird, there's a shadow around the notch, why is the smaller iPhone (Pro) more expensive...", which resulted in me buying her an 11 Pro Max and selling the 11. She won't admit it but the ordeal turned her into a phone snob too and I haven't let her forget it :p.

If Samsung had a 14 day return policy here like Apple i would give the Ultra a go, they should seeing as they are charging similar price. Also need to up their after sales service.
Here once opened from Samsung or a retailer or Telco, no return unless faulty.

My wife *seemed* to be OK when I explained that Samsung is giving me $600 for a phone I paid $500 for (Pixel 4 XL), so it really isn't $1200 for the S20+. Grasping at straws I know, LOL. Cell phones are a hobby of mine, she knows that and has accepted it...so far.

I give my old phones to the missus, i look after them and baby them all year.....so she can break them within two weeks sigh...
The amount of of times I catch the two year old running around with her phone, smh...

Odd. My order no longer shows cancelled. It just says processing or something along those lines. No tracking number yet like some have received.

That was some amazing dedication to that 6 Plus! 🤣 I felt that way about my iPhone 4.

When we had a much tighter budget than we do now, I sometimes took my husband’s tech hand me downs. I’ll still do this with things that aren’t phones. I got his old iPad for Mother’s Day one year. He kept it like new and it felt new to me.

And definitely with automobiles. I’ve got my husband’s truck that he bought used. This is after I drove the same car almost 25 years to the point it’s going to need restorative work on the interior so the dry rot won’t set off my allergies!

But I definitely am spoiled on these phones!🥰

I’m not familiar with Vodafone since I’m in the US. But if there’s a high demand and a supply issue the dates can keep slipping back. When we had preorders in for a certain Note 9, the date slipped from end of August to November on my husband’s order. He had kept it open just out of curiosity to see how far it would slip. I’d canceled mine when the iPhones were announced.

Sounds like my husband. Him and the kids are just as bad. He smashes his phones up and he lets them run around with it and throw it around the house. He’s always having to have his phone replaced under insurance because the screen is smashed or he’s damaged the digitiser or he’s lost the S-pen or he’s somehow managed to break the charging port and wireless charging at the same time.

I feel this pain. I often think I should have shares in spigen for the amount of glass screen protectors I buy and fit on her phone. It's a running joke in our house. New week = New screen protector

I've never damaged a phone apart from screen burn, which wasn't my fault (Galaxy S2) and Note 8 got scuffed using the OEM flip view case, both repaired under warranty.

Yet the missus, after two weeks of getting my Note 9, manages to crack the screen, under the glass screen protector! How is that even possible?

Anyway, the screen protector is still 100% so replacement can wait until the next round of damage happens.....cringe...

The other thing is we both take photo's of the kids and have them shared on a google photos account, just in case, and I can't say many of them are too blurry.

Maybe our children are just a bit sloth-like?

Anyway, thread hijack over /

Good news: i have finally got my hands on s20/s20+
Bad news: even s20 is too long, not managable by one hand.. but what is worse, god after just 2 minutes with this phone, i feel headache and feel like gonna vomit, so pwm is still hurtinh me i guess

so, what i can do test apples implementation of pwm (will try xs/11 pro) and if it will have same effect on me, will have to buy se2 when announced... not good at all...

Majkom - Regarding PWM, it is worth noting that this is typically implemented at the OEM level and not likely to be something that Apple adjust. It is literally part of how the display functions, independent of something like calibration.

Also, the size is a known variable here. I have the note 10+ and I had the 11 pro max, so the size doesn't worry me at all. I am excited for it, frankly.

So s20 phones cause you headaches and vomit ? Damn this is worse than Note7's battery issue.

Just few days ago revived my s7 edge, charged to the max , used it for a day and it felt so sweet. After 4 years still liking it.

Noticed too it has less scraches at the back than my s9+ and Note10+.
