Been using the smaller S20 now for about a week, overall it's an excellent phone, blazing fast, the 120hz refresh is AMAZING, really makes its so buttery smooth. The screen and cameras are again excellent.

I do have some gripes though. One, very disappointed there was no 256gb model, that is my sweet spot. I also really hope the rumors of the smaller Note 20 only having 128gb also aren't true. And yes, I'm using a 128gb SD card, but that doesn't help as most of my storage usage is taken up by apps.

2nd gripe, is that the phone is now slightly too tall for me to use one handed, really have to stretch my thumb to uncomfortable levels to reach.

Gripe 3 is the design. While it's a beautiful phone, the metal edges are too narrow, I really wish they had used the S10e design for this phone, it was probably my favorite phone of last year (and maybe all time favorite Samsung phone, it also had 256gb plus SD card and headphone jack!) How awesome would it be to have an S10e but with updated specs, updated camera, 120hz refresh rate and smaller centered hole punch with smaller bezels?

And that's about it, but even with those gripes, I love this phone overall, excellent phone that should hold me over until the Note 20 comes out later this year (which hopefully I'll still be able to afford, if we are not hit too hard because of this virus). Also got it for a very good deal, traded my pixel 4 and got $600 off (saving my Note 10 for trade in for the 20).
Its funny how coming from the iPhone 11 Pro Max to the GS20+ now makes a 6.2" display seem small to me.

I used to watch the Bounty paper towel commercials and see all the cleaning that could get done with one paper towel and I scoffed for years that it was not possible. Well now I’m living it! 🤣

It’s a fantastic lesson for the kids. But they’re hearing a lot of “How dare you throw that paper towel away after one use! There’s a spot on the floor you could clean with it!” I mean business!

Microfiber towels!

So, I have an Ultra on pre-order but keep reading how the battery, and camera are not that great (UK version). Also some people rave about it and others say its too big/heavy. What are thoughts on the Ultra vs the Plus Please?

I had both and I like the Plus much better. Battery life is enough for all day on both phones, form factor on Plus is much better IMO, and camera on the Plus is more consistent (but Ultra is capable of some really great photos). Ultimately, I didn't think the Ultra was better enough to justify the extra cost.

A couple on here have had the Ultra and now have the Plus that they’re much happier with.

I’m sure they’ll chime in soon.

Thank you. Have you seen any battery life differences between the Ultra/Plus? I am in the UK so it would be the Exynos version.

I don’t know about the larger models I’m afraid but I have the regular S20 and am getting around 6 hours screen time with 1080p and 120hz refresh rate.

I’d expect better from the plus/ultra though.

Edit: UK too so also Exynos version.

I will miss this screen. I keep going back and forth and am amazed at how dull my 11 Pro Max is compared to this display.

Exynos is definitely inferior

They both have cons & pros and , Samsung won't sell inferior flagship c'mon 😌

Personally i prefer exynos cause i always read lagging issues in US forums with many Samsung owners post N8.

Sorry but that's just not true. Snapdragon have been better for the last 3 or 4 years and are clearly better again this year. Exynos is an inferior chipset which is shown in having worse battery life, geekbench scores, and thermal throttling. Some of it you won't see in everyday use, but make no mistake, the SD is clearly better.

Disappointed to see the 3rd straight flagship from Samsung have a vastly inferior chipset in some regions compared to others. Some might not notice the performance difference, but the SD is literally a few hours better than the Exynos.

Samsung simply won't let that happen, i can post many complaints from US forums how Note 8 was really slow and laggy, expert reviews also shows both chipset have cons & pros.

People are literally petitioning Samsung to stop using Exynos chipsets in their future flagship phones. Not people who are biased against Samsung devices or software, but literally the people who chose and bought Samsung devices where they have to use the Exynos versions. Last time I saw the article, it had over 25,000 signatures. Exynos has been the inferior chipset over the last couple of years and the performance gap is as wide as ever this generation.

In battery life? I don't think so, my Exynos Note 10 gets incredible battery life (7 to 8 hours sot) The SD is the better chipset no doubt but the Exynos is not bad by any means.

And I'm getting 9/10 hours on the SD Note 10+. So I stand by what I said that the battery life is a few hours better. After seeing all the evidence online, it's why I got an import and not a local one.

But there's really no excuse for Samsung to provide customers with such different performance levels where the S20 is concerned. I can see why there's a petition to drop the Exynos chip.

I can get 10 hours too, I was being very conservative with my figures, the Exynos note 10 is terrific on battery life so I also stand by my statement. However I can see the S20 Exynos is in fact really bad.
