I wish my contacts would send messages to both of my phones haha. For now, I need to keep swapping my SIM in order to keep messages coming.

It's odd because I never really noticed any delayed notifications before on other Androids. I'm on Verizon, could be a network issue, but, I've been on wifi nonstop for the past week due to working at home.
Are you comparing Gmail apps ?

I never use Gmail app I use Samsung email for all my accounts

Maybe try setting up both on your phone and see if there is a difference between Samsung and Gmail apps

Yeah my husband and I use Samsung mail. But I think even then he was experiencing delayed notifications at one time. He says he hasn’t on the Ultra. But he’s got it set up a bit differently from previous Androids. I’m not sure what he may have changed.

We had sanitized and packed up our Notes and sent them back to Samsung. My husband appreciates the Ultra’s battery. Both the Ultra and the regular S20 also feel smooth even without the 120 refresh setting on. Both of us are pleased with our battery life on our respective phones.

What I have trouble with is e-commerce and authentication of my fingerprint. I just find Apple Pay more widely accepted online and so convenient. So my online shopping is still on my iPhone and sometimes on my iPad. Also more and more places are accepting the Apple sign in or whatever it’s called. I had to register to read a newspaper article and it let me sign in through Apple.

For most other things I prefer how the S20 display looks so I am most often on the S20. I’m using the S20 camera a bit more than my iPhone camera. My last bunch of cat photos were not blurry. I don’t know if an update sneaked in and fixed the camera or I’m just better at timing my shots. But anyway I’m getting some nicer cat pictures now. I’m getting ones of the cats harassing everyone trying to work at home. 😆 They are making off with pens and pencils, chewing on homework (fortunately the things that need to be turned in are of course online). But not Miss Kitty, who’ve you all seen. She’s playful but she’s more my kitty and sticks close to me.

Yes, I use the Gmail app for both iOS and Android. Will give the Samsung email app a try, never used it before.

I’m using my iPhone again for now, also have authentication issues similar to @GrumpyMom and don’t have time, considering the current state of affairs, to deal with issues in certain apps.

I'm using the email app from eddison and notice sometimes it doesn't refresh until I open the app. Must be a software glitch on One UI.

Must say, LOVING the S20 so far. The flatter screen and high refresh is a big improvement. Only complaint is how tall it is.

Also, if you like stock Android, I suggest getting lawnchair launcher and powershade, combined with installing Google apps and making them defaults really give a pixel look and feel, but on much better hardware. Only thing I miss is face ID for passwords.

Just got my hands on the S20U 5G
Ultra happy to be back and explore the Samsung world again. Left Samsung since the Galaxy S5... My phones were iphones all models, Nexus and Pixels... I've seen Samsung make big progress in hardware design and solid top notch hardware... I just couldn't resist anymore... Woke up went straight to Samsung store and got my device.
The phone feels expensive, a nice heft to it. The huge screen is fabulous, either on max res or max refresh rate. Best screen period!! I do feel the extra 30hz the ultra have vs the P4 Xl 90/120.
Battery is way more than enough for me and i do use my phones a lot, super fast charging, 5000 mah fully charged in 1h5 mins is mind blowing. Wireless charging 15w that's 3x the power of the included iphone charger until 2019
Even the reverse wireless charging is faster. Speakers are real loud and clear. Fingerprints reader in the screen is cool and works well, im impressed. Impressive camera hardware, if only the software could match that monster camera module.
Camera still take very good pictures if you tweak the settings, videos are soso... I mean they are good but with this camera module i was expecting more. But hey im not the guy that take more than a cpl mins of video so i can let it slide. Hope a software update can fix some of the problems this camera is having... Mainly auto focus and pictures getting soft when detecting a face...Front camera is very very good love it! Samsung will always be Samsung, there's way too much unnecessary apps and gimmicky features. After making my tour in the apps settings disabling everything that i won't use ,hiding a cpl icons the phone is great!
For me it's a keeper most of the problems can be fix with software. Oh and can't wait for my carrier to swith on 5G in the coming weeks so i can experience the full potentialof this beast :) Hope Samsung supports this phone for at least 2 years with timely constant software updates . But im already prepared to be disappointed if they dont lol. I already know what i got myself into haha
Anyways hope you all enjoy your new shiny toys!

Finally! My red Samsung buds+ are supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I could have had a different color selection sooner but I really wanted the red and I’m so excited to finally be getting them. Which is kind of silly when you think about it, because when I’m using them I won’t be able to see the color at all. 🤔

One thing is certain: I’ll not wear them when cleaning litter boxes this time! 😜

For those who don’t remember or don’t know what happened to my last pair of free Samsung buds, well I wore those with the default tips. I just didn’t feel like finding the box with the ear tips so I shoved the buds in as-is and went to clean the kittyloos. One bud sproinged out of my ear and into the litter box, which fortunately was now full of clean litter. 🙄 Clean or not, I alcohol swabbed the heck out of it.

I did like them, but just never remembered to keep them charged. So I haven’t used them that much. But I hope to do better with the new red ones. First, I’ll be sure to custom fit them before I wander off to do my chores. And I’ll have them in their own special place like I do for my Apple Watch. I just have to accept the new cordless paradigm I guess.

In terms of life in these strange times, we all have had some weird collection of vague symptoms like half of everyone else in the world, that comes and goes like the tide and today is one of those sit on your butt and pray it passes days. So of course we are self-quarantined. But we are a family of allergy sufferers so this really isn’t that unusual for us this time of year.

Anyway, it’s good to see some new faces and congrats on your new phones!

I do love the display on my S20 and will binge watch some shows on it.

As far as the camera goes, I handle it second nature now so the quirks have kind of receded into the background for me. I can just now feel when a shot is going to be blurry and sometimes I can correct for it in advance and sometimes I can’t. But overall I am pleased with the results. I’m starting to getting back to fiddling with pro mode. Every phone camera should have this!

Had the S20 Ultra in cosmic black for a week and decided to return it today. I purchased the unlocked model from Best Buy and I just couldn't get over the price. That is what ultimately made me return, I thought it was a very nice phone overall but with everything going on right now I couldn't justify what they are asking for this thing. I found the camera to be fun to use, but not as amazing as expected (never got to experience any further updates). The screen was absolutely beautiful, but the phone was top heavy with that huge camera array and a little uncomfortable to use. I will probably get a regular S20 or S20+ in the future but I don't think the Ultra is for me.

No success here

And here its fixed ?

I can't see you pictures from where I am at (work).

That being said, I said "for me" the update has fixed the issue. I can't speak to you or you usage. I have used it since the update for a range of shots, ranging from home repairs to my dogs sprinting across the yard. I haven't had an issue with focus and my pictures have turned out great.

I am not trying to cause the device the fail, I am just using the phone.

Unlocked still only gets them when your carrier approves it, so I am waiting also on At&t for me, but using an unlocked model as well.

I don't believe that is the case. Unlocked variants get it went it is released for those varients. These days they typically get updates prior to carrier version, but in the past it was the opposite at times. Carrier varients have carrier specific apps and so forth, which are not on the unlocked versions, and thus updated separately (from my knowledge).

The role out is staged either way.

the USA Factory Unlocked Galaxy S20 and S20+ are $200 off right now at Amazon and Best Buy if you've been waiting to pull the trigger:

Wow that was fast. Still happy with the $600 they gave me for my Pixel, but great for those who haven't gotten the S20 yet. I predict a $450 off Memorial Day sale at this rate.

You still need to "activate today" to get the discount, and you'll get hit with activation fee.

Probably dumb thing to say and OT, but i bet you guys are happy your phones are made in SK and not China about now. If i was starting fresh i would be giving apple a wide birth, especially with the $AU to US tanking and Apple never dropping prices only raising, new iPad 11" gone up $100 in middle of world crisis lol.
At least with Samsung you can wait a bit like above and get cheaper. Screw China.

The last few years, the unlocked US model would get the updates last, only after all of the carriers certified their versions. This changed with the Note 10, where the unlocked got it first. Now it appears with the S20 they are following even a different pattern, unlocked carrier approved and then carrier rollout. Meaning right now, only unlocked on Verizon have received the update, other unlocked versions haven't received it yet at all.

Interesting....I hadn't heard this but anecdotally I am on Verizon with an unlocked model. The logic on these policies always eludes me.
